Starting Your First Campaign in Crusader Kings 3 (Beginner's Guide)

Thanks so much for this great tutorial. I really struggle with making gold in the game, eventually I just give up because I just can't seem to get anything done without gold.

Going into this game brand new where I know my first epic battle will be with my adhd. But I know once these mechanics click I’ll go into hyper focus and my next challenge will be to stop and go to bed

The tutorial ain’t shit after that 20 min I was just looking at the screen didn’t know what to do or how to do it. Felt like a pop quiz with random questions so I did what any sensible guy would do put anything 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I think I figured it out but I accidentally created a second kingdom and not a duchy, right in the middle of my kingdom. So now I gotta reconquer my own brother for land that technically is mine. So frustratingly complicated lol.

I get it, in real life it’s hard. But there HAS be a way to make inheritance simpler.

Fun fact: A lot of people, or should I say even more are looking / wishing for Poland to be an Empire, again...

Every time I get about 5/10 years into the tutorial my game crashes only on the tutorial!

So, when you raise your armies, is your character always on the front lines? Aside from situations ofc where you have more than 1 army or mercenaries, you would always be in 1 right?

Brand new player and I'm struggling gard to find a video of just someone playing the game normally and explaining as they go. They're all way over explain videos or convoluted nobody goes in order like build up economy some gold and start working on relations than work your way up to conquest is how I would imagine it around go atleast. I really want to get into it just dint want to soend 10s of hours teaching myself any recommendations would be greatly appreciated for an actual.never played any ck games nub

As much as I want to like a game like this , 3 hours started and couldn’t progress lol if they had a better way of introducing/explaining maybe more linear in the beginning, could have a real time consumer here lol

I tried the tutorial and actually couldn’t even get through it because I didn’t understand the controls on Xbox lol

One thing not mentioned is that if you betrothed a child they won't marry till they are nineteen. Or you can wait until they are sixteen and marry them off three years earlier.

Thank you for putting the time into this. Unfortunately.. This game is trash on console.... For the sole reason that you can never again see a message if you dismiss by mistake or are... Idk.... In the middle of a war.... You'll never know who had the baby or which of your vassals killed another.... Entire game is based on information.... But you have no way to ever recall it if needed.
Guess it makes sense... I rule 4 counties but nobody can hold my messages for me.
Hope the game is good on PC, but console players.... I'd look elsewhere.

Something I want to add, as a new player, is that you don't have to fill out all of your court positions. I used to make sure someone was assigned for every position, thinking it was pseudo necessary... but all it did was eat my gold. All I do now if have a court physician, and the occasional caravan master when relevant, and it has been a game changer!

It took me 100 hours to get the hang of it. Now I honestly don't think I can go back to Eu4, ck3 is awesome. I started as Duke Robert of Apulia like you recommended and SERIOUSLY it is a perfect campaign for beginners.

I know this is a game but it mirrors guite well the reality.I am disgusted about how misserable those in power were/are.

They really need endless mode on console. That was the main reason I grabbed this game. Then I find out that's only on the PC version after spending $75. I should get a refund for this as false advertising.

What? Why would gaining an unpressed claim give an implicit claim? This is very confusing

awesome guide, just getting into the game. The pronunciation of prowess gets me every time you say it.

The game seems too slow and boring.

I played 59 hours now and 30 hours the last two weeks. I am still just doing stuff with not knowing if it’s a good strategy. I played 4 generations as the duke of Holland. I lost Friesland quickly in the beginning and played an entire life without going to a war to conquer land, but I went from completely in debt and losing money to get a decent income and the other gains. My character was less fertile but got 7 children and I married them constantly with people with prestige gains, which I hoped was a good strategy. Now I am playing with his son and finally conquered a piece of Friesland back and a lot of stress for the new character. Suddenly I god a large part of Lorraine, bigger than my part in Holland. I don’t know why, but I think it was because of all those marriages. I think that’s a good progress? Lot’s is happening. (I wrote this also under another video)

After completing the tutorial, I found a vassel with a negative opinion of me and, not wanting to cheaply bribe him into loving me, I just wanted to know what more organic way there was to win him over. It was an irritable question that was left unanswered.

Shortly thereafter, I was told that a county under another vassal had dangerous highways, more dangerous than the forrest it said.. furthermore, I had zero clue what I was suppose to do about it…

Problems like that where building up. Things that I didn’t know what the fuck to do about, so I got discouraged and bailed. I was pretty pissed having sat through that whole tutorial and feeling like it had led me to the damn middle of the road.

Naturally, I ran out on the town and vandalized a family owned business like BLM. Currently writing from a CHAZ next to a smoldering police station and feeling offaly not fond of whitey. 🤬
