As someone who has friends on both sides and know a lot of greek&turkish families: the greeks have far more hate for Turks then the Turks for greeks. The psychological aspect of being defeated is deep inside their mindset. No matter what for them hatred towards Turks is something they still carry on while modern Turks are less interested in these topics.

The thing is if you dont know about ww1 and wilson pirincipals its easy to believe in something wrong. İn the wilson pirincipals there is a one critical thing and that is if your people outnumber the Turkish population in that place you would had a reason to invade that place but bc Greek didnt had that thing in the İzmir( that was a important place for greek) they pushed their people while killing or imprisoning Turkısh people who lived there for hundreds of years. Well everybody knows that İzmir belongs to Türkiye now. So the conflict begun in that progress. It is very disrespectful to reduce history to such a low level. The Greeks were under Turkish rule for 400 years, some for 500 years, and some were never liberated. Pontic Greeks suffered a genocide, alongside the Armenians and Assyrians. To present it as if Turks and Greeks are equally right or equally wrong is foolish

As a historian I really dislike nationalistic discoruse. When reading about a topic I often like to read authors from outside the topic because they often have a different view on the matter.
Although, often, a national author has a better cultural understanding of things.

Even if we historians more recently are very aware of the natural bias its hard to just be objective. It's literally impossible.

Thats why, as a historian of the spanish empire my favorite authors are americans XD they write not because some ancient feud or pride but because they are genuinely intrested and often have more global and neutral perspectives than spanish, mexicans or german (I study charles V so germany is in the empire) authors.

Us Turks and Greeks are pretty similar in culture, food, meditterrenian closeness we vibe more than any nation in the world. We lived in the same villages, cities towns for 900 years.. A millenia. Nowadays two nations people are more close than ever.
Political Hawks, our soldiers and officer always would challenge eachother till the end of time. Both our pilots train eachother this way so its beneficiary for both sides. Hellenic Armed Forces has a huge pile of fighter jets, navy and soldiers compared to their population and other European countries.
