Even though military in L4D universe try finding the solution if you reading the digital comic "The Sacrifice", and maybe there's a really small chance our L4D2 characters not get executed, just get quarantined while scientist finding the cure for Green Flu and kill the Green Flu inside body of carrier. And the L4D characters they are riding a sailboat to abandoned huge island for live there, because they enough with the military, you guys can read "The Sacrifice" comic in google.

There was also a comic about what happened with the L4D1 survivors after their blood harvest finale. The military picks them up and takes them to a base to run tests on them, letting it slip that while theyre immune that they atill had the virus, them realizing thats why the helicopter pilot, the couple on the boat, and the cargo plane pilot all turned after their respective finales. It leads into the sacrifice too, explaining some of the more hostile dialogue between Bill and Zoey.

It's hilarious and dark at the same time. They are doomed to fight hordes of zombies until they die.

It’s like the movie “a quiet place” where the family escaped to an island by boat (like in L4D1) but the island’s population was killed by the monster that the outsiders brought along

There’s actually a theory that the boat guy is a carrier, we get on a boat with him and we never once see him change, he drops us off just fine and sends us on his wave, there’s also some things he said about his wife that hinted to it but I can’t remember
