ОтветитьFantastic help. Thank you Will.
Margaret
I have toe stiffness/arthritis. Are there any alternatives to the donkey calf raises exercises? Thanks
ОтветитьAaaaahhhhhh
ОтветитьThank you for the video.
ОтветитьThanks, Will.
ОтветитьThank you so much...very useful for me.
ОтветитьI will be 76 on November 5 when Trump, JD Vance and JFK jr will win and take back our country.. I love walking fast.. I walk to the gym and it’s in traffic.. if I didn’t have street lights to wait on.. I could walk 4 miles per hour..
ОтветитьI have osteoarthritis on my left side - knee, femur, hip, pelvis, lumbar spine - it's a lot weaker than the right. When I did the first test I could barely raise up and had pain in my knee. Oh my, I have so far to go. And that's only the first test! So grateful for you Will❤
ОтветитьTry an ocean cruise to see slow walking. Americans are a mess physically. Shameful!
Ответитьfwiw oxygen saturation and lung capacity issues slow down walking, ditto low blood pressure
ОтветитьNot seeing the link for the video on building strength
ОтветитьS1 herniation and sciatic symptoms completely weakened the calf muscle so that walking speed reduced to a crawl. these calf muscle exercises have helped re-activate the calf and each day the walking speed gets quicker. So thank you Will!
ОтветитьI can't do this as both big toes have very little flexibility any more. It's really painful to attempt it. Is there any other way I can exercise my calves ?
Ответить2 months ago I ended up with grade 1 turf toe after increasing my daily steps too high while wearing old cheap walking shoes. Articles online caution against bending toes until everything is healed. Can you please comment how I will know when is it safe to bend my toes like in this exercise?
ОтветитьThe problem with these exercises is that many people over 65 have big toe arthritis. These exercises put a lot of stress on the toe joints, which causes great pain in the toes. Are there modifications of these exercises for someone with toe arthritis?
ОтветитьThank you Will for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Your videos are extremely helpful and appreciated.
ОтветитьOnce again, top tips. cheers.
ОтветитьI used to walk quite fast when yng , now I'm getting overtaken by little old ladies, I thought it was the engineer's boots dragging me back, but I have noticed I have to think about going faster. It is certainly a concern.
ОтветитьI'm a slow walker but I think it's because I have very flat feet.
ОтветитьMy podiatrist gave me these exercises for my torn archilles fibres.
ОтветитьLooking forward to implementing the samples you presented today. VEry exited to take my calves back to being better supports! THANKYOU
ОтветитьThanks,
Could one use ankle weights instead of dumbbell to increase the load? Or does the weight need to be above the calf muscles being worked?
I’m surprised you use the phrase, “do it until you feel muscle ache,” rather than do it until to reach muscle failure. I do a once a week slow motion weight training on zoom with a trainer. They use the term, “muscle success.” What it means is you’ve reached that point in your rep when you simply cannot complete the rep all the way through the end of the motion no matter how hard you push. Now they also have a time alternative. That is if you’ve been doing the set for two minutes. It’s time to move on to a different exercise and the next time you try this particular exercise add some more weight.
ОтветитьCan Diabetic do this
ОтветитьMri report showing my lower bone and my upper bone spine never joints together from younger age
ОтветитьTaking paracetamol 2 tablets teaking 2 tromadol tablets 500 mg
ОтветитьMy life is hell walking,
My foot nails posirsses suffering.
Joint pain
I am 73, I did your test and I failed😢.
I was a long distance runner, however my pace was always slow (13 min per mile). My last marathon was 2009 and then I resorted to half marathons. My last race was January 2024 and I ended up having to walk it. I found out that I had osteoarthritis, and I’m working on my recovery. I have recently subscribed to your channel and I’m fascinated about all your videos. Once I beat osteoarthritis, I would like to brisk/speed walking instead of running. I’m wondering if these exercises could help me walk faster?
It's really helpful. Thank you 💕💕
ОтветитьVery good videos. 30 years of dance experience, and your information is right on
ОтветитьThanks again from those of us who so desperately need your advice. Worked hard physically all my life but don't recognise this woman I've become who has no energy or motivation. Began in 2020 with the harsh Covid restrictions here in Australia. Love these vlogs - have pre ordered your book. Thank you from all in the 50 60 plus age group - often not catered for but in need of advice & direction.
ОтветитьI prefer to walk faster but atm I will slowly because my right knee is turning inward so I try to hold the leg differently to stop the knee dropping inward on each step.... how can I stop that if I'm walking faster?
ОтветитьGreat 👍
What if in the calves test the left leg barely does it and the right leg seems to be quite ok ?
Thanks
I think this advice is helpful even for younger ppl who tend to overlook calves even when if they are consistent in their exercising. Thank you for the video.
ОтветитьI have a question, why do i have a difficulty jumping? Can i jump again? I am already 69 but i am very active.
ОтветитьCan I do these exercises with painful knees
ОтветитьI have decent calve strength, I'm 58, but don't go up on my toes because of concerns with an old plantar plate tear. I was told it would worsen and that eventually my second toe would curl over my big toe and to keep it as stable as possible. So far that hasn't happened. So many exercises involve going up on the toes and most people don't give a work around. Other than the direct discussion of this type of injury, I haven't seen this addressed anywhere and I don't think I'm that unusual. I've managed some long distance hikes, I walk or hike everyday but make sure i have fairly rigid shoes, usually shoes made by HOKA. I have your book and appreciate all of the free content. Thanks.
ОтветитьIt would be great if you did some of these for over 75. In my experience 50 and 60 wasn’t much different than 20, but after 70 I noticed a big decline.
ОтветитьI'm trying this today. My posture and walking speed are making me feel very old😢.
ОтветитьI am80 years old and am losing strength. Do you ever make videos specifically for people older tha 70?
ОтветитьDoing this exercise is a real challenge....not for height....but for one leg balance !
ОтветитьI have had a sign on my refrigerator for years. "Walk or you won't be able to." This is an excellent video.
ОтветитьAnother thing the test does is show any unevenness from one side to the other. Excellent video. Thank you.
ОтветитьThanks will these exercises are working and also it helps my pain in my shoulders thank you so much ❤🎉😅❤🎉😅
ОтветитьFour muscles, each toe, cross the ankle and attach in the calf.
See the stupid shoes that bend up the toes starting before walking.
LOOK at toddler toes- already curled!
To discuss gait without discussing the way that we have treated feet since the invention of the stirrup is folly
Looking forward to trying this.
I’m working on strengthening my legs following weeks of sitting because of a fracture in one leg and knee. Able to walk just up stairs and uphill is harder at the moment.
Suppose one is recovering from a fractured ankle?
ОтветитьBeautiful ❤
