40 YEARS IN THE MAKING ✨✨

This is a conservation story about Princess Carolina, the oldest surviving North American built merchant vessel. It is a unique ship, built a little differently than most we know.

After about a dozen years of cross-Atlantic service, the ship encountered a storm in 1729 and managed to sail back to New York City for repair where it was docked and never left...

And, that's where its story begins here at The Mariners' - a conservation project 40 years in the making, continuing the work and dedication of many who came before us.
