Trying Out Pacific Drive by Ironwood Studios and Kepler Interactive

As someone with no driver's license, Pacific Drive is extra stressful.

I know the mechanics of a car; I know that there's a handbrake and clutch, I'm just not used to it you know? Yeah, this is definitely the reason I kinda suck at this game.

Yet let's look past my inability to drive and actually look at the game. Pacific Drive is honestly an immersive sim. It's not just a driving sim with horror, it is a true and proper immersive sim with a little bit of creativity added to tickle the fantasy of its players. Otherwise, you would just be playing Assetto Corsa or Forza Horizon.

Its post-apocalyptic theme isn't really that original but definitely untouched by many. So far; as I have not progressed through the story enough, I think this is some type of distortion in space that moves entire locations farther or closer to others, morphs areas bigger or smaller than they originally were, or even transferring or swapping one entire region with another.

The main driving force of the game is its post-apocalyptic setting and your "helplessness" as a random citizen sucked in this messed up reality. Your battling mostly against yourself, trying to steel yourself against the tense nature of the world. You're really pretty safe if you keep calm and make logical decisions but with everything around you blowing up or changing, it's pretty scary. Add to that the creepy noises here and there.

I don't think there's any horror creatures or such in the game but everything else still instilled fear and tension on me. This is a fun and good game, probably pretty fun for fans of driving and the survival genre.
