This song was a protest to the imprisonment,
ОтветитьHurricane is a masterpiece...
Ответить'Desire' was always my favourite Dylan album - some really great songs - 'isis' 'Mozambque' - pure class.
ОтветитьBob Dylan is a Minnesota treasure, he has received the Nobel prize for literature for his writing and contributions to music. Lyrical genius
ОтветитьI remember reading the book when it came out, I was a young teen. Never saw the movie though. Thanks for sharing this one!
ОтветитьBob Dylan wrote the song in 1975 for the purpose of raising awareness about the incarceration of an innocent man. It worked, although it still took several years before Reuben was released.
ОтветитьDylan don't pull no punches.
ОтветитьPowerful song from a great album.
ОтветитьDylan has said he considers himself a poet first and a musician second. He wrote the poem, then set it to his music. Love your thoughtful reactions.
ОтветитьIn our civics class back in 8th grade we put together a letter and we all signed it requesting that he be released from prison. This was done by quite a few students all over the world at that time. I have to think it made some kind of difference when they finally let him go. Peace!
ОтветитьThat violin.
ОтветитьYes the Hurricane , the fighter. Ruben Carter.
ОтветитьMaster story teller Bob Dylan. Some one told Bob he was the Poet Laureate of the United States. Bob being a humble man said, No sir. That would be Smokey Robinson..
ОтветитьThis song put such a spotlight on his story and really started the fight to get him freed. Such a great song
ОтветитьRead the book Hurricane Carter wrote, the 17th round Thanks Guys, Loved the Hurricane
ОтветитьShout out to Scarlett on violin.
ОтветитьThis was a very popular song when it came out.
ОтветитьThe song is relentless.
ОтветитьThat violin….!!!!
ОтветитьYour not ready..
ОтветитьWeird to say anything about Dylan is underrated but his storytelling isn't a prominent thing people talk about. His speed-like delivery too, perfect
ОтветитьSong is almost 50 years old. Dylan stands alone as the greatest songwriter ever.
ОтветитьBob returned to his protest/activist roots of the 60s when he wrote this in 1975. He was so pissed off and outraged that he set about researching the details of this for months and came out with this song. We (middle-class white kids) had never heard of the case, but when Dylan sang about it, everyone paid attention. He's all that.
ОтветитьFamous beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg knew the story, having grown up in northern New Jersey and told his friend Bob Dylan about it, encouraging him to write a song about it.
ОтветитьBob dylan, one of a kind ! his Masters of war is a must listen. and positively 4th street is a masterpiece of a diss song.
ОтветитьI remember seeing Hurricane Carter on Gillette's Friday Night Fights back in the 1960s. He was a helluva fighter. For another classic Dylan song regarding racism, try The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll. It's from an earlier period of Dylan's career than Hurricane.
ОтветитьThis song came out while he was in prison. Dylan was a major force working to help free Hurricane.
ОтветитьLennon and McCartney are great but only Bob could write a song like this❤
ОтветитьWhen I heard this I shouted out..."Dylan is back!" The songwriting is beyond, beyond, and Dylan's passion for his subject is overwhelming. This is something that only he could have written. A+++
ОтветитьOne of his very best !
ОтветитьThis is one of those times Dylan's often derided voice sounds Perfect 🙂
ОтветитьGreat tune 😮
ОтветитьSong came way before the movie 😮
ОтветитьAll the crooks in their coats and ties😢
ОтветитьAfter all, Bob Dylan is a protest singer. And this came out long before Ruben was released. Pretty sure this song was at least a small part of him getting out. Greetings from Norway.
ОтветитьBob Dylan is, hands down, the greatest single songwriter of the last 100 years. Don’t think so? Look up how many songs he wrote that others covered. You’ll be blown away. He was bold, creative, and could spin a story.
ОтветитьGreat reaction again guys..
Yall light like..
Lily Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts

This is one of my favorite albums, I still have my original copy on vinyl, the whole album is fantastic.
ОтветитьThis was written in a time where the stars really care about their causes I think now the celebrities just take whatever the popular causes is they jump on that bandwagon but I don’t think they really believe in it great song awesome reaction
ОтветитьA Master Piece both in music and lyrics. The violin was amazing along with the rest .
ОтветитьThanks guys for this one. This has always been my favorite Bob Dylan song, great music and fantastic story telling.
ОтветитьI was under the impression that Dylan and many of the other celebrities rowed back on their support of Ruben Carter after his release.
ОтветитьYeah this is a great song
ОтветитьDylan is a great poet and story teller and he's not afraid to say what needs to be said. I went to many concerts over the years, I got to see him live and I consider that to be one of my all time favorites (along with seeing The Beatles).
ОтветитьYeah. Dylan.
ОтветитьThat son of a bitch is brave and getting braver. That's the line
ОтветитьThis song was released a year after I was born and honestly could have been made today and would still be relevant.
Ответитьthe movie is because of the song.
