Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 7 Suit-Up Tony Stark Unboxing & Review

This is a very cool figure and a clever idea but WOW, super complicated. I’m kind of glad i don’t really have the room to properly display this guy. I normally all over a Tony Stark figure but they really did cheap out on the actual figure himself, all the time and development went into that armor. That chest piece set up really reminds me of the flying vests that the Guardians of the Galaxy had in the second of their movies. And I never even attempted to put one of those on the figure, it stayed safe in the box.

At first I thought, wow, that's a great sculpt'. Then the more I looked, the less I saw RDJ and the more I saw Reece Shearsmith.

Funny comment saying that Tony is an accessory to accompany the Iron Man suit parts. That technique that hot toys used for the Stark Tower piece of having one color encased by another could be used to make a more accurate Tesseract. It would be awesome if hot toys made a Loki in his casual tunic from Avengers 1 to pair with this Tony to recreate the iconic scene(It could also give us a head sculpt of Loki from Avengers 1 that is meant to be displayed without the helmet).

It's weird, I actually saw the likeness better compared to the older sculpts. I think the problems with it are down to the expression and it looks like he's based on newer images of RDJ, as opposed to the way he looked back in 2012.

One of the head sculpts looks more like an older Jean Claude Can Damme.
He does look good in the suit though, that’s probably why the body is skinny so it fits in the suit.

Yes, Iron is the most common magnetic metal on Earth. Imagine trying to engineer this suit for the 3 modes. Impressive.

This is the figure I wouldnt think of having cause I 100% for sure would have LOST every single tiny piece of that accessories

I think the proportions aren’t that bad, considering that in real life Robert Downey Jr.’s head is quite big for his body.

honestly, I think it's the best likeness so far. I wasn't sure, but as you compared it to older ones it just seemed right?

When I first glanced at the head sculpt I was like who the hell is this guy?! But after the adjusting I was really liking it. Even more when u started comparing them none of them looked better than this one I was very surprised. The only one that compares was the racing suit up one.

I actually think the head sculpt looks great. There’s a specific shot from that scene with Loki they are talking and Tony very briefly makes that face. Interesting choice to take that shot and use it here, but, definitely a great sculpt.

Is this better than mark 5 overall?
