Consoles? (pls)
ОтветитьI will keep my tempered expectations but I will follow the process and see what they come out with!
ОтветитьLooks amazing, i really can't play first person only games for very long though.
ОтветитьDude I'm so excited to listen to this, and I'm so happy for you for getting the opportunity to talk to Ted yourself because I know you'd been interested in the idea. I'm still so looking forward to this game
ОтветитьMy only issue with this game is it's all female pantheon.
Even in our supposed "Patriarchy", we have both men and women gods, representing what they excell at... Men would be strong and resilient and rule destructive elements, while women would be gentile and fair and govern emotions and healing., (you know, masculine and feminine represented beautifully, completing each other, instead of stealing qualities and competing with each other...)
Here, we have a skinny orc lady representing the god of strength and warrios? Why?
Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love women in general and have no problem with them ruling and being gods....when it makes sense....but here it just doesn't....
Orcs are supposed to be overly masculine, not betas ruled by women......
HOT TAKE! I wouldn't mind if they did sprites in a 3d world again. It was fairly unique and interesting, but regardless glad wayward is fully 3d
ОтветитьCommenting for algorithm.
ОтветитьFull trust in Ted Peterson.
However just don't let some kid sneak woke stuff in.
Propaganda ruins storytelling and immersion.
It would be fun to have a coop mode, where you can play together with your friends.
ОтветитьI need Todd Howard and Emil P to watch this interview.
ОтветитьDam, it will be a steam game, meaning it will be held captive by steam. Daggerfall was awesome. I still play unity. It will be one of those games you don't 'own'.
ОтветитьI don't feel DA PASSION in the project, don't see any dilated pupils when TALKIN LORE, i don't know...
ОтветитьThis is a very well delivered interview. You have a bigger channel beat on how you interact with and respond to your guest, and on just how much information you have gathered about the game. You can tell Ted actually enjoyed this interview
ОтветитьSounds great! But will it have 16 times the detail??
ОтветитьThis was a great video and introduction to the studio and game, i'll keep my eye on it if not support the kickstarter at some tier. Cause this is what i want a modern RPG to be!
ОтветитьThe early TES games nailed the huge world where you COULD influence events, but weren’t “the chosen one” or whatever. In daggerfall you’re known to the royalty as a plot device to set up the main quest, but in terms of actual gameplay you’re really just some guy.
It sounds like that’s the sort of role you’ll play in Wayward Realms.
This flexible story thing has got me thinking about if open world RPG's need a main quest at all. The main quest might just be the players story through the world. I've played all the Elder Scrolls games for hundreds of hours, but I've only touched the Main Quest on a few occasions. So isn't there a better way to spend resources on making content beyond the main quest?
To answer my own question, I think one compromise could be to do the old puzzle vs problem thing, where you make a dynamic procedural story about factions vying for power that has no handcrafted narrative at all. Whatever happens, and however you impact it is the story of the game. Have a premise, certainly. A dead king meaning an empty throne, or a terrible war waging with the player being able to join either side, neither side or fight to end the war.
My point is simply: do open world games need a story?
Thank you so much for that interview !
I (of course) spent a couple bucks in the Kickstarter. Daggerfall is definitely the game I spent the most time playing in my life.
Please keep us posted on that project ! <3
Although I am very much looking foward for The Wayward Realms, this video gave me "Sean Murray interview" vibes. For those who don't know who I'm referring to, Murray is No Man's Sky's lead dev and he often answered similar questions as those Jwlar asked in this video. Questions like, "Will your game have X-Y-Z feature?" To which he, just like Ted Peterson in this case, almost always answered "Yes".
I'm afraid that since this game is so ambitious, yet so early in development, most of the features mentionned in this video will end up being cut because of time and budget constraints.
Let's just hope I'm wrong.
Ted Peterson showing how old school he is by having his video feed be interlaced
ОтветитьI like that there will be a bit of a guide so you always have a "what's next?" because I'm the kind of person who needs a destination.. but I'm also one of those people who likes to explore one the way to the destination if that makes sense. Say I'm on the way to the next part of the quest and then all of a sudden I see something on the way there and I'll go "ooo, what's that?" and go explore. Then sometimes while I'm exploring I'll get tired of going my own path and go back to where I was going.
Ответитьcan't wait for this!
ОтветитьI just backed this kickstarter on the $40 tier, it may be a while away but we'll probably get it sooner than the next Elder Scrolls game
ОтветитьThis sounds amazing, but i am getting a little bit of Sean Murray talking about no mans sky vibes, not lying but exaggerating with love
ОтветитьI doubt they will be able to create scripts of some many relationship layers between characters. I am afraid that they will do a asset flip from the UE database and oversell it. Fuck I hope I'm wrong, but to make all the systems mentioned here it would require a tremendous amount of skilled programmers. By looking at the marketing materials, the footages, even the outfits of the devs it seems that they don't have a lot of money. There is a high chance they will defraud the money from kickstarter and just go cost effective on the development and just cash out to the few leaders. Happens all the time in this industry...
ОтветитьI'm thrilled!
ОтветитьWell done!
ОтветитьA crowdfunded game that won't report share benefits for those who donated on kickstarter, worked on by unpaid volunteers and that will only profit a few people. This is just the birth of another AAAAAAAA game company
ОтветитьFor every Uhhh Peterson sais we pledge 1$ donna to the kickstarter…. ohhh will you look at that! Funded 😂❤️
ОтветитьI'm looking so much forward to this. I absolutely loved Daggerfall and classic RPG's in general. They're usually much more serious in both visual style and gameplay wise. Can't wait to play this game.
ОтветитьI really hope they do something with the dialogue UI, in Daggerfall its charming but in a polished modern 3d context it looks pretty bad
ОтветитьSad to see modern wokeness in The Wayward Realms, not having race specific / sexuality specific abilities and such...
ОтветитьThey're at $741,370 on Kickstarter. 1/3 of their full goal. Let's make this happen!
ОтветитьWayward Realms is shaping up to be more of a spiritual successor to the orginal Elder Scrolls games than some of the official Elder Scrolls sequels. Ironically, I doubt they'll be compared a lot at all by Bethesda fans as I think that a lot of TES fans will probably say not to compare them as they're "not really the same genre" I think it'll only go to show how far Elder Scrolls has fallen, you can't even compare it to what it used to be... a Role Playing Game..
ОтветитьYou lost me when you said you will be doing everything in 3D and using store bought assets.
This is going to be yet another cash grab and a dissapointment.
King
ОтветитьHe sounds very humble. Give him a break. Hes never been a front man before. That was Todds job.
ОтветитьBeing a Kickstarter Backer for this, I am stoked for this game to come out!
ОтветитьDude, you were asking more questions about Daggerfall then their own game :D It felt like at least 50% of words spoken by you were Daggerfalldaggerfalldaggerfall... on repeat. Let the guy talk about his new game and not something from 30 years ago...
Ответитьhey it's JWLAR and that other guy
Ответить"If you wanna do survival mode I'm gonna put you at 11"
I'll just have you know good sir, that I play a modded versjon of Skyrim where I have to think about temperature, weapons condition, eating, drinking, sleeping, illness, hygene and going to the loo.
Never underestimate the emergent stories that can come out of a character having to stop his adventuring and sneak off to go to the loo.
wayward relms looks very jank.
ОтветитьI’m so excited for this game as a fairly new Daggerfall addict!
ОтветитьA design document!?! Oh my!
Ответитьthere better be furry races
ОтветитьGreat guy, but he should probably stop drinking so much. He was clearly hammered for this interview. I wish him the best and he is a gaming genius.
ОтветитьThanks for watching.
