There are a couple of details with the arab saber there, one is with a semi circular weapon techniques must be more in a circular way, included circular evations. secondly you can't fight in front to front with a shorter weapon against one that's longer, there will be no chance unless you use lateral and circular movement, having applied these principles the combats had been very odd.

It seems to me that the 2-Handed swordsman is not as good a Fencer as the Saber-Fighter.

Yeah, very "nice". Historically these two swords only had a very limited time in which they interacted with each other & mostly in Eastern Europe. The Hussar Sabre would have encountered one-handed swords of the 17th century/1600's i.e. Basket-Hilted Back Swords & various forms of Rapiers; not the two-handed sword with simple cross guard.

But this was not the cross technique which was used by the husar sabre in the past.

Both guys are trained mosly on straight swords.. this is why they show high capability with long..while its not how you fight with a sabre.

No sorry ale osoba wywijająca szablą bo to ciężko nazwać fechtunkiem szablą bardzo słabo sobie radziła więc co to za porównanie ? To jakaś amatorska grupa rekonstrukcyjna czy kółko zainteresowań ? To wyglądało jak zabawa dzieci a nie pojedynek więc ciężko tu o rzetelność. A i ja wiem o czym pisze bo sam trenuje i widziałem co potrafi zrobić mistrz fechtunku który staje bez ochraniaczy bo wie że nie będą mu potrzebne.

Very nice :) the long sword is super elegant. The sabre was always a popular sword eg in hungary, not just from the xv century. There is the sword of “attila” or the “god”, probably it is a hungarian sabre from ix-x century.

To sa warunki pojedynkowe, a nie bojowe, takze zakres realizmu pewnie zawezony. Wydaje mi sie ze podobnie ze sposobem zdobywania punktow, wyglada bardziej sportowo, jakby nie skupiali sie na obronie. Generalnie uwazam, ze bron jednoreczna w wiekszosci wypadkow wygra, zakladajac brak zbroi i brak scisku.

Znam się na szermierce jak kura na nurkowaniu, ale wydaje mi się, że ciężko porównywać te bronie. Nie tylko ze względu na długość, ale też ze względu na wyważenie. Szabla husarska jako broń kawaleryjska wydaje się uporczywa w szermierce pieszej. No i mieczem długim posługuje się dwoma rękoma.

I mean that "longsword" is not even as long as the average long sword. It's literally the same length as that sabre. If the longsword guy's sword were longer it would have yield vastly different result.

While most of the wepoons listed are almost equally good, there is one that Is guaranteed to be worse. Sport epee will not stand against most other swords.

this doesnt show how good a weapon is, this is not how you fight in real battles and also it depends on the weapon and armor of the enemy

I personally think that there isn't really a perfect weapon as there could still be situations where sure weapon will be in disadvantage. I often viewed different weapons as to have different purposes and is best suited for one or two specific scenario. Nonetheless, great video, now i want a lot swords.

Well. In real life we should also include armor. I mean that medieval knights used heavy armor, very difficult to penetrate. And any kind of sabre would be pretty much useless because it would be impossible to cut it. Only thrusts in some gaps in the armor could help. So a longsword would definitely win a duel like this. However, if we consider all weapons used in both eras, a hussar would win using a pistol.

The fighter with the sabre really lounges extremely. I am not sure in a combat situation, with lofe at stake, that is a good tactics. Looks appropriate for sport. Anyway, goos video.
