Very good video on a subject I knew little about!
ОтветитьCan you make a video on how to stay safe and avoid scams while traveling? Include things like your thoughts on travel alarms/door jammers, door stop alarms, how to secure you window when sleeping if you have it cracked open for air, where to safely store expensive electronics and precious stuff to prevent theft (keeping in mind the cleaners have access to your room when your away. Do you recommend mace, or any other type of defense weapons? What travel insurance is best to get and how to claim it should it be necessary? Sorry for so many questions, but these are pertinent to me. Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьThanks for the info, very helpful. Was hoping to see your pooch walking through 🥰
ОтветитьAwesome Thanks! Love your videos
ОтветитьI like your new haircut it's so beautiful 😍
ОтветитьExcellent information thank you
ОтветитьValuable advice , very good to know before you may need it. Then can make informed choice by knowing your rights. I will forward this on to people I know that had cancellation situations.
ОтветитьI'm just here to listen to her voice.
ОтветитьI had to email the DOT for a cancelled flight from Air Canada. air Canada refused my refund and offered credit only. DOT got in touch with them on my behalf after I emailed them. I received a response from air Canada saying they will give me a refund almost immediately. Refund issued within 24 hours!
ОтветитьIt's unclear what's really covered by the insurance companies too for cruise passengers
ОтветитьJust a thought: it's funny how you can get EVERYTHING on the internet however taboo but NOTHING about Probate Why the secrecy?
ОтветитьGreat information. PS, LOVE the hair :)
ОтветитьI booked a trip from Victoria BC to Guayquil. The agency was Ovago and the first two flights were booked with Alaska, and the second two with Copa. When I arrived at the Victoria airport I was told that Alaska hadn't flown out of there in two years, but I was the third person that week to show up looking for a non-existent Alaska flight. I managed to get on a flight to Vancouver, and from there flew to Seattle, and then to LA. This cost me $1000. I had to sprint through LAX, pick up my bags, check in again, and slam my stuff through security in order to catch the final two flights with Copa (who were very helpful). Alaska claims that they notified Ovago about the flight cancellation, but they are unwilling to provide proof or compensation. Ovago acknowledged that the flight was indeed cancelled, but said that I should have checked myself. They did not apologize for the inconvenience, explain why they didn't notify me, or offer any compensation. It's been more than three weeks. I will be filing a complaint against all relevant parties. The lesson I learned from this experience is to book directly with airlines, and obviously to never use Ovago or Alaska again.
ОтветитьHi Megan what about when you missed your flight, are you able to get credit. They charge me with an extra 2 thirds of the ticket original price to use the next flight
ОтветитьThank you so much for this very helpful information! Who knew?! I would not have thought to go to the DOT for info about flight cancellations! Good job.
(Love your hair)
I definitely need to file a complaint against the company I used to book my flights. The airline cancelled my October trip back in august. No big deal. It was $800. Call them. We can only give you 500. Explained my rights. Fine we will give you 600. It’s November. Nowhere to be seen. Then my card expired that they had to credit me on. And they won’t use my new card. So they have to use PayPal. But charged 100 to use PayPal. So I’m getting 500 back, probably next year, for my 800 flight that was cancelled IN AUGUST. I will not ever be booking third party again honestly
ОтветитьAny ideea how I can make a written claim to Expedia Canada? Their customer service is in Egypt and I can't seem to find someone there knowledgeable enough to resolve my problem (even after talking to a supervisor and many many CSRs I still could not get my money back). I have a flight credit with Air Transat since September 2020. In May 2021 TS got a government loan to reimburse the flight credits. The combo of geniuses from Expedia and Air Transat managed to only reimburse me a leg of the trip. Since June I call them several times every months to ask them to fix the problem and pay me the rest, they know I'm right, they say it's going to be fixed in 5 days but it never did. What is "funny" now I can't even use the rest of the flight credit to book another flight on TS because the credit is a sort of a ghost somewhere between Expedia and TS and none of these two is doing anything. If you have any advise I would appreciate you tell me how you think I should handle this. Thanks.
ОтветитьI just got delayed in Cozumel due to staffing issues in Miami making me arrive to my destination 4 hours late, looked on American Airlines policy and it state you are eligible for compensation for any delay 3 or more hours.
It's kinda a pain to fill out the form but had nothing better to do in the airport. I'll be curious to see if anything comes of it. Hope to get something to cover the $125 it cost me for hotel and Uber ride.
Thank you. Very useful information. 😊
ОтветитьJuly 2021, I cancelled my flight(San Diego to Dallas) 3days before flight day and so far I didn't get my air ticket fee back! I called EXPEDIA many times and no results! What can I do? Any people can help me? Or give me any advice? Thanks!
Ответитьnope. FAA and DOT. LAWS
Flight Delays & Cancellations
When planning a trip, passengers should keep in mind that airlines do not guarantee their schedules. While airlines want to get passengers to their destinations on time, there are many things that can – and sometimes do – make it difficult for flights to arrive on time. Some problems, like bad weather, air traffic delays, and mechanical issues, are hard to predict and often beyond the airlines’ control.
In the United States, airlines are not required to compensate passengers when flights are delayed or cancelled. Compensation is required by U.S. law only when certain passengers are “bumped” from a flight that is oversold.
The Department’s rules regarding flight delays and cancellations apply only to flights that operate to, from, or within the United States. However, passengers flying between or within foreign countries may be protected from flight delays and cancellations by the laws of another nation.
Another informative and helpful video here Megan. Many thx!
ОтветитьI feel like you are covering up an accent. Like New Jersey or Boston thick accent.
ОтветитьWow, I did not know about the refund if airline cancels regulation. I checked my chase sapphire preferred travel insurance and was shocked it did not cover cancellations by airlines. So I was going to buy a flex ticket. Now I know!
ОтветитьProblem is for example I would have spent $300 on a one way ticket and gotten $100 back it was still better getting on the next flight at Christmas.
ОтветитьWOW! Could have used this last December. Now sitting on a $800 airline credit. UGH!
ОтветитьCebu Pacific kept my money coz of COVID.
ОтветитьMy husband and I recently had this situation. Curious enough we were flying one day apart and the flight number was the same. Turns out my husband‘s flight was canceled going to Hawaii I arrived at the airport and requested a different date other than the one that was rescheduled by the airline. I didn’t know of this rule and was just grateful to get him in a day earlier than the rescheduled date. Can we still request a refund?
ОтветитьFrontier Airlines cancelled our flight which as a direct result, costed us more than $2,500 to fly back home, and was promised that they would "reimburse up to $300 per person for travel on another airline to destination and give $50 (per person) in Frontier travel vouchers. Within 14 business days, a reimbursement check will be mailed to the address you provide on the payment page of the booking process." that was several emails ago and for the past 6 months have been repeatedly told that I can "anticipate a refund soon!"...When I read their 'Contract of Carriage' it says "No legal action may be brought by a passenger against Frontier unless commenced
within 6 months from the date of the alleged incident." Convenient and explains why they 'repeatedly apologize and pacify' your pleas, all while hoping they can drag it out long enough to exceed the 6 month limitation...I came across your video and am hoping and praying you might have some suggestions or recommendations?
Hi Megan. Thank you so much for your videos, they are very informative. I also like them because you are very clear and to the point. I'm planning an overseas trip. I live in Taiwan and I have to go to Peru for a few months to help with a family situation there. What would you suggest as the best way to get the tickets? I heard you saying that the safest way will be getting them directly from the airlines. Would this principle apply to this situation since there are no direct flights from here to South America? I will have to fly to the States first and then down to Peru. What would you suggest in this case? I would really appreciate your input. Also, the rights that you mentioned about would apply to non-nationals traveling through the States as well? Thank you again for all your help.
ОтветитьWhat if my bf wants to chnge destination but then they say can only chnge economy turns into business class which cant afford
ОтветитьThank you for the information. I’m wondering if when they cancel your flight. Canada to Miami. When you get a refund do they also need to book you another flight out for free?
ОтветитьThank you 🙏🏽
ОтветитьExcellent information! Thank you.
ОтветитьYou might need to actually update this video. A new law targeted towards airlines specifically was passed in 2021. I believe most of this applies, however there are even more protections for those flying.
ОтветитьJaaaa. Los subtítulos automáticos no muestran lo que ella dice. Creo que es importante que los creadores de contenido sean conscientes de esta situación para que sus videos puedan llegar a más personas en el mundo.
ОтветитьI booked a trip with Globus that included airfare. My connecting flight was cancelled and I was rebooked but the rebooked flight is 55 mins from my connection. The airline, KLM, says this is within regulations for Amsterdam which is 50 mins. Well that means that they've left me with 5 min wiggle room to ensure I make my connection. Its like they've set me up to fail knowing full well that I will miss my connection. They said I'd be booked on the next flight but what if thats the next day! Why even put a passenger in this situation.
Ответитьgreat stuff lispy
ОтветитьYes. Expedia “Stole” $1,000.
from my 18 year old son.
Prior to Pandemic,
He used Expedia to book
a China Air flight to Japan.
He waited until China Air “Cancelled” the Flight (Japan stopped All Inbound Flights) .
Air China Refunded Payment to Expedia.
My son requested Refund from Expedia multiple times.
Expedia only offered a Credit with Expedia, which has not been used, and is now Expired.
Well done - great video

The link for the EU Passenger rights is of a company that charges a percentage of my claim.
Do you have the direct link to do the claim?
Thank you!
I booked with orbitz and Japan airlines cancelled the return part of my flight. Is orbitz required to give me a full refund, because they didn't fulfill the entire itinerary? I contacted to get another flight back to San Diego from Hanoi but so far no luck.
ОтветитьMy airline pushed our return trip a day so instead of returning to the US on Thursday per our original plans, we now can't fly back until Friday. I had to purchase another night at the resort where we are staying. What can I do? The airline only gave me a 30 day notice.
ОтветитьYou're awesome. Thank you!
ОтветитьIf you get a refund for a delayed flight, do you still get to take the dalayed flight you originately paid for?
ОтветитьThanks much for sharing!
ОтветитьI booked travel on Independence Air in 2006 (I think) for travel from PVD to IAD round trip. They went bankrupt. And I booked directly through them. I have yet to receive a refund. But I don't remember my flight details. I'm Andrew. The same dude who's asked about meds for bipolar and travel in the past.
ОтветитьMy flight to Orlando was canceled. My out bound was one airline and flight back was another flight. The airline that I was using won’t credit me back! Can I get a refund back? I need help!
ОтветитьCan I call my bank and cancel it they transaction
ОтветитьHave you ever had a flight cancelled? 😬
