I went to a Sooners game when I was stationed at Ft. Sill. It was huge and fun. I'm not a sports fan so I was out of my element but it was a great time

Theyre the invested in the players because the NFL makes trillions and trillions of dollars off of them

As a Hotel Chef, we entertained FIU, Florida A&M, FSU, Notre Dame, Texas A&M. They would get a full Italian buffet with 2 Chef cooking at a full choice Pasta Bar, next morning, 8 am full breakfast buffet with a double Omlette bar with over 15 choices. The colleges have cut back somewhat on the spending in the last few years. The local college FIU simulates being on an away game every game, so the players have almost the same experience as they do as if they were playing on the road. We have one more college weekend coming up in November. Then Christmas parties, sighhhh!

These facilities got out of hand because they only recently were able to pay the players, so for decades they were trying to pamper them, to convince them to attend that school.

Judging by what you seem to have learned in your "Uni," I wouldn't even think about stepping inside. If they put absolute morons like you out of their halls, the campus should be bulldozed.

They get paid, whether direct or indirect. Division 1 is professional sports.

They take the top 1%. If you don't perform, you are out.

Blue jersey quarterback now plays for Oregon (Ducks). It's widely acknowledged that Oregon has the best facilities in college football and that in itself draws a lot of talented recruits and transfers.

As recently as 20 years ago, it was common to see college football players use the same dining halls as all the other undergraduate students on campus. Also, the locker rooms were nice, like an upscale public gym, but now they're often even nicer than the ones most pro football teams have.

The amount of money in the sport and the quality of amenities provided to the athletes is absolutely wild.

They take classes, too, and if they're smart, they do well. Only a percent of them go on to play professionally, and if they're injured seriously, it ends their career at a young age.

You think that’s crazy. You should check out Alabama’s locker rooms and sports centers. Check out LSU’s as well. Clemson’s and South Carolina’s are nice as hell as well. This all may look like a lot of fun and it is because these guys love the sport and their eyes are on the bigger price, but it’s hard and they have to maintain their grades in order to play. But yeah, they are treated very well. They have the best trainers, they get fed all day, their workout clothes are cleaned for them as well as their entire uniform and place perfectly back in their lockers. Which is why they are opened on the back so whoever takes care of their supplies are replaced back in their lockers before they are needed again.

Yes they have to go to class and maintain good grades. This stuff you're watching is mostly done before regular classes start. The football team begins practices earlier.

If the players are in camp more than likely school has not started yet. When school starts they will go to class and there are other arrangements when they have to miss class. ie travelling.
Everything is included as far as the food and things and trust me it gets way more intense. When the doctors check them out.

You should watch the tv series, “Friday Night Lights.” It’s about high school football in rural Texas….how it is the main event in town, highly competitive and trying to be good enough to be recruited by a big football college. Texas breeds football players! Their high school fields look like some college fields. College football is the farm system for future NFL players!

My son got a scholarship to play. Players head to college 2 to 4 weeks before classes actually start. It's almost year round. When my son had down time a couple months he'd play volleyball for fun with the college guys from the Saudi Arabia Olympic team, over a decade ago. Fun memories

The health, and performance of the players is essential. Most probably won't make the NFL cut. Even if they do all it takes is one bad injury to ruin your chances at a career, or ever playing again. They actually try to teach a lot of these guys about investing and finances. Some listen some don't at the end of the day they try to set them up with the knowledge they need for a successful career in whatever they choose. The sports bring in a lot of money for the college. Also when you have a good team and staff, investors will pay you for advertisment. A lot of money to be made but, it's a lot like the military in the way that it's cheaper to take great care of those already trained, then it is to find ,and train another guy for the same position. Experience and chemistry between the players is something that develops with time. You know who's going to make a move and when, without needing to communicate verbally. That kind of chemistry comes from tons of practice. Even if you find another great player, he might not even be close to the one you lost. Diet nutrition, and recovery is extremely important. It's easier to prevent a injury than it is to fix one.

I think the reason college football is so popular here in America is pretty simple. The NFL scouts college teams for players. So college football players have 4 years to impress one of the NFL teams enough to get signed by someone. As for the college's themselves, the more players you have make it to the NFL, the more talented players will want to play at your school.

You have to remember, up until recently the players were not paid, only offered free school and housing. But college football is a huge money maker for the schools, especially when you are good. The way to be good is to get good players. The way to get good players is to have the best facilities. It is the ultimate arms race, each school is always trying to one up each other in every aspect.

Only 25 of the 130 college FBS teams earn a profit each year. The rest are drains on students to go to school to actually learn. Still paying that student loan 10 years later? Thank your football team.

This would be a great system for regular people for weight loss and general health. You just show up and use the machine and it tells you you need to hydrate and you need two proteins, one carb, and two vegetables. Then you just pick them out and you’re good!

This college is amazing & all big schools are like this. However, smaller colleges, private colleges etc. can't afford ALL of this, however, pretty much all sports teams are revered, if the college has a team. And the food etc. is because they burn many calories & need hydration & fuel. Also, to your comment, unless a movie is horror or fantasy type stuff, American TV tries very hard to depict the stories accurately. You can believe what they are showing you. Pay attention to the era, etc. & you will see accurate costumes, neighborhoods & automobiles etc. to make it all as exact as possible, for the times.

College football is BIG Money for the schools so they make sure the players have everything possible. The best coaches, trainers, equipment, medical care, etc. Their performance in college games will determine if they get drafted. Will they get offered a multi-million dollar contract, a decent contract or not get signed at all? The better the team is, the higher the donations are from wealthy alumni.

I wash the clothes for high school boys sports. There isn't a back on those lockers because the laundry is behind them. That is the side I put the clean clothes into the locker. Each player is assigned a locker, and their uniform is returned to it each time they are cleaned. Twice daily at my school.
