Surrounding Luka with a bunch of 1-dimensional players with no real ball desire is different than the team they have around him now. You’ll have more of a demotivating factor if the ball doesn’t swing around as much and it will probably smooth out as the season progresses. Especially if Luka gets healthy so he’s not bricking his 3s and getting to the paint to create the space for more ball effective ball movement.

Careful man, saying the truth will have them label you a Luka Hater. There are basketball fans, there are Mavs fans and there are Luka fans and for the latter nothing comes before him. If you guys are talking about him been the MVP and player in the World before the season then it is only fair to judge him by those expectations for the work we have seen so far on the court. In 10 games we talk again and if things change the “grades” and perception change not about hypotheticals or past achievements but about what we see on the court.

LUKA IS THE PROBLEM

No real fan wants to trade Luka. People are just frustrated with his game because expectations are at the highest and he is not meeting them so far. Luka just needs to be better if we want that chip.

It wasn't simply one game (against the top seed in the west) that the Mavs TEAM performed very well and won with Luka Doncic. Yall are trying to erase the 2022 playoffs first round when Luka was too fat and injured and watched Dinwiddie and Brunson lead Dallas to a 2-1 edge over Utah as Luka watched missing those first three games. Yall are also trying to erase Luka's horrid shooting the first two rounds last playoffs when Kyrie carried Dallas vs the clippers mvp of that series then PJW mvp of the okc series where Luka kept bricking. The overall group played TEAM ball and was fluid. Iso hog ball is never the answer--nor is your supermax player not taking accountability to step up and be a leader in his attitude, behavior toward refs and teammates, his weight, checking his ego. He's been obese since 2021 when Miller and tnt, espn crews made fun of him. Doncic said in 2021 he "relaxed probably too much" but will "get back on track." He lied. Three plus years later he is still injury prone due to his weight, the beers and burritos.

You ask most Mavs fans around victory Ave, plano, Richardson, Allen, mesquite--most fans are done with Doncic.

The funny thing is, a ton of Mavericks fans around Dallas (and at the AAC) have grown tired of Luka Doncic's antics and lack of culpability. Talk to anyone about that and you may be surprised (or not). The tone at the top trickles down and without that toxic tone, a team is able to thrive as a team vs a round mound trying to showboat and hoist more bricks than a mason. I can see why Klay looks depressed out there. Doncic missed key shots, turned the ball over and had the most inexplicable and laughable blunder not guarding John Collins for his game-winning dunk then basically blaming QG and Lively vs taking full ownership. And that was against the worst team in the west. Without Luka, the mavs looked tougher and played AHEAD, won against the best team in the west. It's common sense once you tune out the Luka bias. Trade Doncic for a superstar that defends, stays in shape and has a positive attitude.

wouldn't read too much into that win, good win that we needed of course but we beat a thunder team without any big. we're not going anywhere without a healthy, engaged Luka

With Luka playing, even this season, it would've been a +10 pt win for Dallas. Thunder had no size, Luka shooting and distribuiting the ball against smaller lineup is just lethal. People should stop freaking out for a few games. Mavs will be fine and Luka would be once again an All-NBA player this season.

We def need Luka…when you don’t have your star, seems natural to play harder and differently to make up for that missing element. The momentum wouldn’t last without him. He has had a weird start, but will prevail.

Luka is such a ball hog that he was second in the league last year in assists. So selfish of him. Do you people hear the insanity of what you are saying? The only reason he is averaging 8 assists now is because a lot of people are missing --- yet again --- wide open shots.

He'll have an easier time just cutting his 3pt attempts to just 5-7 attempts per game. That's the only reason why this offense isn't taking off to get comfortable leads in the 1st half of games.

The mavs still needs a 7',5" center like jamarion sharp or similar. A big center can make that difference. It can be any center as long as they can compete against the bigs around the league.

The Mavs out-rebounded the Thunder 53–29. That has nothing to do with Luka’s absence but injuries to OKC centers. The Mavs nevertheless only won by TWO points. This conversation is not worth the time.

We need to trade Luka. He ain't the same no more. Maybe get a trade with Lakers so we can get a lot of #1 and #2 future trades and build the team around kyrie who plays fast paced american hoop. He's too slow and the role players cant adjust to that. Trading luka would also leave a lot of budget to get younger players. Dallas now 4-1 in games where Doncic isn’t the leading scorer. This could be a winning formula, with Luka shooting less threes, more shots at the basket and dramatically less usage. We will see.
