Quite simple why a manager gets obsessed with players he inherited. It's a sign he knows he isn't backed. He knows certain players in that dressing room straight up aren't having him. The players he feels are trying for him, or are at very least professional enough to keep their heads down and put in a shift, he has to stick with because the alternative is playing the ones who are borderline sabotage because they've decided they don't want to play for that manager.

Is AMORIM just incredibly stubborn or does he lack the creativity, or the skill, to play anything other than one system? Either way, it's deeply, deeply disturbing!

I don’t know anything about the accountancy side of the club or what the ownership might do with funds so maybe I’m being naive, but it strikes me that selling Bruno for 100m plus, Garnacho for 60m and then moving Rashford, Antony, sancho (who must all have semi decent prices now seeing as they’ve done well out on loan). That would allow us to buy 2 or 3 proven players, cunha, Mateta and maybe one other, and then using those players to build with and provide experience for the likes of heaven, obi martin, yoro, amad etc we could actually have a good squad that could build and improve to a top 4-6 club in 2 or 3 seasons, and with that new stability and champions league there for us we could start adding the odd marquee signing and challenging the top 3 clubs.
