In this session I launched the Hobie Lynx into Woolooware Bay with a plan to fish the bridge pylons with the incoming tide. I was not feeling it after about 30 mins and so changed plans. There were a few Terns working the water on the tide and a few fish on the surface so I switched over to soft plastics to see what was smashing the bait fish. It wasn't long before I was onto an Australian Salmon (Sambo) who was jumping and putting on a good display. I stayed for casting for a bit and landed a few small Sambos before moving on. I headed further into Woolooware Bay with the idea of fishing the mangroves with Deathy who I had just met, We headed down but the Bream were not on the bite. We headed back to deeper water and found a lot of bait schools and fish on the sounders so we started throwing vibes and plastics around. I hooked up to a nice school Jew which is always fun on Bream gear. Andrew was next and he landed a bigger Jew as well as three Bream. I then hooked up onto something that I had to double and triple check as I was in Woolooware Bay and I had an Estuary Perch (EP) on the line. Hard to believe this guy was so far downstream. I usually catch EP up the top end so this guy must have come down with the recent rain and storms.
Great to land this little guy and see him on his way.
It was a pretty tough day fishing but glad we got onto some fish after searching around for a bit.
