If playing at high caliber clubs means mediocre NT performances and entitled players then I don't want it.
ОтветитьI would rather have a healthy, rested Christian Pulisic than watch a meaningless match with him in it. Donovan took a break when his team actually needed him to qualify for the WC and was left off of the squad for that. Pulisic is taking a break from a few meaningless games in order to be healthy for the WC. Most of the other starters couldn't be there anyway.
The truth is that the MLS players just aren't good enough to compete with teams like Turkey or the Swiss. They are barely good enough to beat T&T. Stop causing strife for our guys, it's ugly, harmful to the team and this bashing from Landon is the height of hypocrisy.
The goal scored by LD vs algeria has always been my absolute favorite USMNT moment. The throw from TH to LD scoring took 10 seconds. It was always something in the back of my mind while playing and coaching (the hope that all it takes is ten seconds to score). 😬
ОтветитьThe Coors endoresments always feel so awkward, idk why!
ОтветитьThere nothing out of line about criticizing Pulisic fair or not because no player should not be bigger than the NT they represent.
ОтветитьPay to play problem. Let ppl that are hungry work their way up and rep with pride
ОтветитьIs it weird that the goat of American soccer a.k.a. the Michael Jordan of Soccer is commenting on what Polic is right now which is maybe the Kobe of American soccer like live his playing style when he’s achieving his effort it would be weird to see Michael Jordan commenting exactly on Kobe’s last game from last night like it’s just strange
ОтветитьI thought it was Jo Koy and Landon Donovan in the thumbnail 😂
Ответить❤❤❤🎉
ОтветитьKeep on keeping it real. I hope the players get super mad
ОтветитьPulisic, although talented, has no reason to be this tired. He rode the bench at Dortmund and at Chelsea. Then got injured and rested even more. I think this past season was the first he was healthy for most if not all of it. Meanwhile we all saw how intense that UEFA final was. Absolutely no excuses accepted from Pulisic imo.
ОтветитьSo where was Landon during the 2014 Crunch qualifiers that were so critical ? like the Sno clasico? ON A LITERAL BEACH . not everyone should have a podcast guys you are not helping anything
ОтветитьPreach gents!
ОтветитьGreat talk boyz… but hey come on we gotta talk about the Coors sponsorship. You guys are role models. Should we really be promoting alcohol to the next generation of American athletes? And I say this as a casual drinker. I know a lot of people whose lives have been turned upside down because of alcohol. Friends, family, acquaintances. I think everyone should be free to make their own choices and get educated on it, but I also think we should really be setting a better example.
ОтветитьThis intro was so corny. Like why did they give Tim’s record. He’s literally a joke and his most popular moment was getting dog walked by Gio Dos Santos.
ОтветитьWhen you have people and players on the inside saying “they hope Pochettino changes the culture of US soccer” that should be a red flag right there that something ain’t right. They are looking for guidance. I believe Pochettino has more power than he realizes. Perhaps it’s perplexing to him, and I’m honestly kinda bummed his initial response is “that’s not what I was hired to do”… Actually it is. Culture is a vague word and yeah we’re not expecting him to come up with a marketable solution to American Soccer, we’re expecting him to fundamentally inspire this group so they can learn as much as possible from him and they can pass it on to those who want to learn from them. I think these guys need some tough love, and perhaps instilling a culture of giving it 110% would be a good place to start.
ОтветитьLUNA = CAPTAIN AMERICA 🇺🇸
ОтветитьLandon and Tim, as respected members of the US national team, who each have been responsible for two of the most shining moments in US soccer history (2010 WC goal to advance US & Monster performance vs Belgium 2014 World Cup) are perpetuating important accountability and tension that is needed to account for a standard within our national team. Both Landon and Tim endured heavy criticism in their time as players from the “1994” alumni who along with 1990 blazed the trail for all of this.
Tim and Landon, thank you for carrying the torch and doing what is needed from those who came before this group and have set the stage for things to be far better than it has ever been. Our current team is still finding themselves and through their actions have set an expectation that isn’t being upheld right now.
Landon and Tim, just like you two when you played, this group doesn’t need to answer to your comments, I disagree with that, they do need to step up with their action and quiet down the questioning. When the US team is in form, the alumni are the loudest cheering from the side lines, that’s for sure and what we all want to get back to asap.
Tim is absolutely spot on with the new Nations League models. It basically cuts off any chance for cross-confederation matches which honestly limits growth for every nation outside of Europe.
ОтветитьJust fire the coach already
ОтветитьPulisic hasn't won anything yet
ОтветитьTalk about mexicos national team
ОтветитьWhen the Dads come out to speak on behalf of their grown ass sons… its sad
ОтветитьSadly, this generation is a bunch of simps. So much talent and no b@lls. Our leverage has always been our American Spirit. GRIT. Fight, work together, puff your chest out and be PROUD to be in the best country in the world. STOP LISTENING TO THE FALSE NARATIVES. We have an advantage being American. These guys need to show it.
ОтветитьThey said what I feel: the USMNT culture at present is SHĪT. Fans, see it, we know it. This generation is just too entitled. They make more money than ever before and work less. The attitude sucks. No wonder a game is 4-0 at halftime. It's demonstative of who the current USMNT is. Fits like a puzzle.
ОтветитьNot American (I’m french actually), but I love the intelligence of both of these mens, really educated and legend of this country. I’m still surprised the USMNT hasn’t called them to coach or do something with the federation !
ОтветитьIn the first half against Switzerland that was not an issue of fighting, our players that were on the field were so out talented.
ОтветитьThe chill stuff with promoting Coors light. Seems creepy. Lol
ОтветитьI would go with Freese for the Gold cup for Keeper.
ОтветитьWhile there are many things I don't agree with Landon on, this is not one of them. Pulisic and any others who refused to come into this Gold Cup camp should be ashamed! Given the poor performances this past year + they should be eager to show the fans, and critics, that they are hungry to win back trust and take every opportunity to play for the national team! One year out now from the biggest WC in our history!
ОтветитьPulisic’s interview with CBS sports revealed him to be aloof and clueless to the frustration of the dwindling fan base still trying to build support in this country. It’s clear he enjoys playing soccer, but he lacks the passion for his national team to deserve the nickname “Captain America “- Diego Luna is the only one showing the heart to compete
ОтветитьThis generation hasnt "moved the game" forward, if we speak truthfully, it has taken 2 steps back. Pathetic & Sad, as Followers & Supporterz.
ОтветитьI appreciate hearing Landon Donovan's side of the story. Brings things to clarity.
ОтветитьLegit should listen to Christen Press & Tobin Heaths latest Re-CAP show. In it they share a moment about how when Christen’s mom was sick so she asked to take time away for a friendly from the national team. It didn’t even really cross Tobin/Christen’s mind to ask for Tobin, her partner, to be there for Christen because it was national team above all else. It’s kinda how this mentality (maybe not always to a healthy degree in this scenario tho) shows why the women have won World Cups and the men can’t qualify, get out of group stages, etc.
ОтветитьI mean Landon you say that if something serious is going on you don’t have that information so you have to assume everything is ok. But the thing is you don’t have to assume that and the players who you repeatedly noted are not your friends or your wards are under no obligation to share if something serious is going on in their lives. The world would be a better place if we gave each other the benefit of the doubt rather than assume the worst.
ОтветитьI don't have anything meanspirited or insulting to say about Pulisic. I just think recent events have exposed him as thin-skinned and completely unsuited to a leadership role. He's been handled with kid gloves by domestic media for his entire career and at the first hint of direct criticism, he's crumbled, but not before his father eroded his status by speaking for him. Mind you, he's not a singular target for criticism, the entirety of the "golden generation" deserves strong scrutiny re: attitude and locker room culture.
ОтветитьVideo is boring and annoying.
ОтветитьPossibly the best thing I've listened to by USMNT players about the USMNT. Off the record, I would like to get some of their actual thoughts. I've watched a lot of these Euro players and most of them hide inside the team and do just enough to remain cost effective, but i would say 100% of them would be traded if even reasonable money was offered. They are totally and easily replaced.
ОтветитьIt’s OK because Landon Donovan quit on all his teams not just one.
ОтветитьThe two best players of all times , Bocanegra , Bradley & Altidore deserve a special mention , I didn't see lalas :/ ,,,🇺🇲
Ответить“This is going to be the biggest World Cup in the history of soccer”, STFU! The way your country is operating it is going to be the worst!
ОтветитьNew generation is soft, they might be more talented than London and Tim’s era. But that USA team had more fight and heart.
ОтветитьClint Dempsey and both are better than pullisc and mckinmie, cause both have that ball sense hungriness and not scared of competition of any kind. They have that resilient that could win them atheist World Cup, but bad luck got in their way. They both have that pride to win it all.
ОтветитьBoth Howard and Donovan used to be likable, now they are just annoying almost as much as that belligerent buffoon Lalas.
Ответить15 Straight Seasons, 'nough said. Also, who better than LD to give an opinion on the USMNT. Great pod LD and TH!
