Top 10 Reasons to Own a Casio G Shock Mudmaster!

Thanks for the video. I`ve had my mudmaster for 7 years and love it. So many features and tough as nails. If I was ever to wreck it I`d go straight out and buy another.

A trophy watch is a Rolex or Omega, maybe an IWC or JLC, or Patek when you get promoted to the corner office, or pass the bar exam on the first try, or received your MD from medical school.

A Casio G Shock is an ultimate tool watch. But G Shocks are absolutely too complicated for me. I've had 3 G Shocks and found them all to be a pain, adjusting time zones when i travel is a PITA, daylight savings time to standard time is a PITA. I like simple features. Maybe 3 or 4 additional functions, highly legible cuz im getting older. Need high luminosity as i wear them to bed and i check the time several times throughout the night even though I'm retired and dont need to get up early. But it seems Casio wants to cram as many features as they can into the watch without regard to what we really need. Do we really need 5 alarm settings? Do we really need 1/100th second stop watch? And the techie desginers dont co sider that not everyone is a tech geek and dont enjoy 25 steps to adjust from standard time to daylight savings time.

Totally agree i have some top end watches 20 times the price of this but i always have this on my wrist..why? its just perfect.

I bought this watch because I feel the same way as you do, my third G Shock. I agree they are very tough. I do Spartan races and totally need a tough watch.

The impossible happened. I dropped my black GWG-1000-1A1 about 4 feet to the wooden floor and the watch landed flat on it's face. Both the hour and the minute hand stopped moving. I couldn't solve the problem and neither could the local watchmaker. That's it. Kaput. I managed to break it. However I think this watch deserves a second chance so I ordered a pre-owned, excellent condition GWG-1000-1A3JF from Japan.

The altimeter on this watch is particularly satisfying as you ascend and descend on a plane, and I was pleasantly surprised at its accuracy.

I own this exact same watch since december 2016. Been wearing it eversince. Battery died twice but it can be recharge under the sun thanks to its solar energy. The best and the longest watch i've ever put on my wrist😊.

Absolutely agree with every point you said. I had almost every Mudmaster model and I have ended up with the brandnew GWG-B1000 1AER. It's a little bit smaller than yours and fits perfectly to my wrist. has all the same features and even a bit more but it comes with a lot of stainless steel bezel parts with DLC coatings that make it a bit fancier if you wear it with some fine shirts at work. Anyway if you want a durable hardcore watch then your baby is by far the best choice. in case of some damage you just replace the resin bezel with a new one for about 20 bucks and you have a brandnew watch again. Regarding toughness, coolness factor and style I would say, whatever Mudmaster you take, it's gonna be a good choice. I always have that smile when I look at it and no more functional Garmin will ever give me those emotional feelings that a Mudmaster gives you. Undestructable, always ready for action and it will never let you down, ever. Thank you for pointing out these top 10 reasons. No regrets on spending much money for that and if you cannot afford a new one, just get it second hand and be happy. Can't do anything wrong. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

They are awesome . I own 8 G shocks but the Muddy is my favorite model .

I like G-Shocks, however, I think if they streamlined their products(way too many models IMHO), and advertised their best products more, they could be an even better brand..Just my two cents.

I ordered it to replace my 21 year old tissot t-touch. I did 6 deployments with it. The compass was absolutely vital for me. But it’s just done. To many miles. I hope this G-shock is as incredible and long lasting. And accurate.

The final statement is correct. A good nice G-Shock makes you happy having it. Mine is a GWN-1000B Gulfmaster. It makes me happy that I still cannot justify buying a Mudmaster. I want to wear it everyday, every second of my remaining life on earth. Must change my Avatar too.

Had this watch for a time. A kind of love/hate relationship with it though. Practically, for me, it was just too big. Like a spare tire mounted on the back of a 4-wheel drive big. On top of that, I found G-Shock squares and they had all the functionality I needed in a much more logical and accessible way and in a more manageable form factor while still handling the tough stuff.

Loved your review though. You are passionate and quirky about your watch in a kind of “high functioning autistic” way. This, by the way, is not taking a shot at you. I have a few friends that could be labelled that too but I really value their unique way of seeing the world and often hilariously brutal honesty. I love it. :-)
