Great video Joe! Made it so clear to me. :)
Ответитьloved the video! thanks for the help!!
ОтветитьThanks Joe you were of great help, very clear and easy to understand. Slightly different runway marking in Australia but I plan to visit the US with my plane, so I don't want any surprises when I get there.
ОтветитьA ifr communications videos would be cool, loved the video, I can actually hear your voice when flying haha
ОтветитьShouldn't you at first have communicated with Chicago Approach before entering the 30 nm ring?
ОтветитьWhen leaving a tower controlled airport, you must stay on the frequency until clear of the tower controlled airspace. Do you need to inform them when you are leaving their airspace? The reason I ask is because I am a student pilot and on my solo cross country the tower asked me my position ( I think that is what they were asking, I was busy with other stuff at the time), even though I was out of their airspace. They were busy with other traffic, so I never did contact them again because I was well away from the airport by the time everyone had stopped talking.
ОтветитьI'm still a student pilot and have not heard a better explanation of towered airport communications until now. This was great!! Thanks Joe!
ОтветитьExcellent. Thank you
ОтветитьVery clear and easy to understand, THX
ОтветитьVERY GOOD PRESENTATION...even for Europe !
Ответитьvery good thank you
ОтветитьAnother question (thanks for answering my other one): When the tower says they will call your base, what would be the normal operating procedure? Since you would be on the downwind and past the threshold, I assume you will want to begin the normal procedures of flaps, reduced power, descent airspeed. But then, while waiting for the tower to call your base, do you maintain a certain altitude and airspeed? Pattern altitude would be too high, maybe maintain the altitude that you would normally be at when you turn base?
ОтветитьThanks for the reassuring approach that "this is no big deal when you get right down to it".
Very helpful, checkride in 2 weeks for me!
not a lot of videos out there explaining procedures with ATC. very helpful, thank you!
ОтветитьVery informative. Thanks
ОтветитьVery good instructional video! I'm flying to my first towered airport next week and this is was a great help in preparing!
ОтветитьVery helpful. Thank you!
ОтветитьHey Joe! Can you do a video about copying IFR Clearances? Your communications video is helpful. Good Job.
ОтветитьThank you for this great lesson!
Ответитьthanks joe im in the uk and you have helped me greatly your web site is top class im not a pilot yet but i hope to be. im starting with gyrocopter lessons later this year so im all over the internet to learn about all aspects of flying. you are the best person ive found to help me so far. it was a very good idea to put a communication film on. thanks phil
ОтветитьThis is a great informative video. I´m getting started into flying and this has been extremely useful. Thank you from Uruguay for this clear tutorial
ОтветитьI'm not seeing a reply button for comments anymore, so if I don't reply it's because I am trying to figure out what happened!
Ответитьthanks good information!!
ОтветитьJust added 6 new pdf e-lessons to my flight instructor joe site for IFR training. Thinking about doing some videos for IFR stuff too but still deciding on what subject to use.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьEasiest to follow video. Well done and looking forward more. Thanks.
ОтветитьExcellent video! My first 13 flight hours were based out of an airport without a tower, and now I'm training at a rather busy towered airport. The transition was quite overwhelming due to my lack of experience of talking to ATC, so thank you VERY much for clearly describing the process!! Keep up the great work, and I am looking forward to more videos.
ОтветитьI like this, It's to the point, no frills, no goofy music, no long boring intros, just telling me what I need to know, which is why I clicked on the video in the first place. That's great, good job. Thanks for doing this. Will be checking out more of your videos.
Ответитьthank you. only lesson i found without crap.
ОтветитьExtremely good overview.
Ответитьgreat video.
ОтветитьHello Dear Joe...Thank you very much for your explicit explanations on communication and use of runways which are now simple to me.God bless you.
ОтветитьGood job really thank you but could you tell me what did you say after saying
"You're number 2 follow ..... " I didn't hear follow what?
Awesome sir!!!! Im a big fan now, Thank you from Brazil.
ОтветитьExcellent
Ответитьthank you Joe for this lesson , excellent I like how easy you explain everything I new in aviation getting my sports pilot license for gyroplanes an I'm doing it from North Perry Airport in Hollywood Florida , and the description is great really affirms my little knowledge and makes more secure .. thanks again maybe you can recommend me other topics . thanks again
Ответитьwell done..i learned alot from this.!
Ответить+Flightinstructorjoe Thank you for making this video. I found this the most useful and instructional I have seen so far, and even better organized than the Jeppesen lesson on the same material.
If I may make a small suggestion, it'd be great to have all the communications annotated on the screen in writing, not just a selection. Thanks again.
Thank you! Excellent.
ОтветитьThanks, this really makes more sense now. I am ready to go tackle one of my bigger concerns about flying.
ОтветитьExcellent video, very informative, a must watch for a student like myself in the Baltimore Washington corridor. Thanks for making it, will check out your website also.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this vid. Absolutely scared to death flying into towered airports. You rock for doing this. Much appreciated.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you for sharing information.
ОтветитьObliged for the buddy-up, really made issues clear. Thanks for the take-along.
ОтветитьNow why can't everybody teach like this??...very well done!! Thank you!
ОтветитьExcellent! Able to follow. 1960 pilot getting back flying
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьVery helpful Joe, getting back in the air, after a 17 year hiatus. Bob
ОтветитьJust exactly what I needed. I thought I knew how to talk with ATC, and this helped to clarify what I should do.
ОтветитьThis definitely eases the nerves!
