Brian Kelly is seen as a “Slave Master” by his team…..literally! He is not a leader of men, and does not inspire or motivate any type of skill, spiritual, or intellectual growth. He’s not a power 4 or 5 Coach…..and belongs in a “Group of 5” conference.

Kelly was born in Everett, Massachusetts, and was raised in a Catholic Irish-American family in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He attended St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, Massachusetts. His father was a Boston politician. He was a four-year club football player at Assumption College as a linebacker. Prior to landing the LSU job, he coached at Central Michigan University, the university of Cincinnati, and got big break at Notre Dame. He’s a mid-west coach, with an east coast sensibility. He DOES NOT, understand southern black athletes, and sees them as “objects” rather than people. He blames everyone else (mostly his players) for his failures.

His initial base salary was $9 million for the 2022 season and this season, he'll pull in $9.2 million, per the contract. By leading the Tigers to a bowl game this season, Kelly has already secured a $500,000 bonus so Kelly will be pulling in $9.7 million for the 2024 season.

Per Kelly's current deal with LSU, his total buyout comes in at a whopping $61,738,333. Firing Kelly without cause would be an expensive personnel change for the athletic department, which just recently wrapped up paying out his $16.9 million buyout last year. Sorry LSU, but you brought this on yourself!
