GAME OF THE YEAR? | Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — Part 1 (Expert Difficulty)

This game looks cool. For a build sugestion I would grab the four elemental starters as they all generate a stain that the others use and the stains are generated in a sequence. As far as The Last Generation, my expectation is that either they are planning one final expedition at some point and they want to be as prepared as possible for it, or they are preparing for when the timer gets below 15. after that there will likely be no more new babies nor will there be anybody to grow and produce the food.

As a father of a young child, the harbor-scene hits very hard.

Have kids and try to stop it. Sophie is understandable but ultimetly it's a moronic thing to do. Your child has a chance at life and even if that Paintres is going to cut their life short they had a life. They had friends, family, memories they made. Being alive just to die is a much better fate to never exist in the firstplace in my opinion objectivly better.

Okay, here's what I don't get. People are gommaged only if their age matches the number by coincidence, aren't they? And the Painteress changes the number every year? Then can't they like do calculations and have kids in right years so that they don't fade away? I mean, if I'm 28 when the Painteress writes 33, then it's going to be 29-32, 30-31, 31-30 in the next years... and I'm not gonna be gommaged? Can somebody explain?

My thoughts are that whether people have kids or not is nobody else's business and nobody should make others feel bad about it.

That arrival on the mainland scene reminded me so much of the dark continent from Hunter X Hunter. This whole world gives me strong dark continent vibes. The age limit concept is also amazing. I'm all here for it.

I'd love to see Lune with a crit build and Elemental Trick into Elemental Genesis. Elemental Trick can generate all 4 elemental stains so that Elemental Genesis can be used on the next turn.

I first found your channel looking for a Horizon Zero Dawn playthrough, all the way back in high school. Fell in love with the game, eventually got to play it, but it started with your playthrough. When I heard about this game, I thought to myself "bet he did a playthrough", and low and behold, just found it. Looking forward to experiencing this game the same way I did HZD.

Gomma = eraser
Gommag = scrub
Gommage = exfoliate

So they're not just being killed, they're literally being wiped off or entirely removed from the world. Those who experience the Gommage don't suffer a death like those who go on an expedition. Presumably there would be people in New Luminier that have died normal deaths before their Gommage, especially when the Gommage first started at 100, leaving plenty of elderly to die of old age before their Gommage came. Curious how this wasn't brought up in the prologue

Gustavs voice actor is the one who plays daredevil. I thought I recognised his voice.

Yo, so excited! I watched your Death Stranding Let's play after putting 25 hrs and in and deciding it wasn't for me. Really loved the experience of the let's play and getting to see the story without slogging through the gameplay I didn't love. Hoping for the same thing here. Don't have the time or desire to play, but I want to see what all the hype is about.

I just came here after trying to run the game on my aging laptop. Played through the first tutorial and thought nope, I can't enjoy it like that, wanted to see the game in full fidelity and see how it goes. The soundtrack is marvellous! Typed in let's play expedition 33 on the yt search bar and I'm here.

Wow the world and story of this game is so interesting. Idk if I’ll ever play it but I feel like I want to lean all about it. I’m glad to see some writers still have original ideas.

The first time I watched you, I was 13. That's absolutely crazy. I found you when you were playing Maize. That was the weirdest fever dream of a game, and now I gotta rewatch it. Thank you, and keep doing what you're doing, man.

This feels like a more advanced paper mario or mario + luigi, if that comparison makes any sense.

Dodging is comparable to just dodging an attack in M+L without the counter attack in those games.

Parrying meanwhile feels like a superguard from TTYD. Super risky, but incredibly useful if mastered.

I think you have to have children, even in a doomed world. Opting not to have children because the world is too awful is giving up and saying that you don't think anything will ever get better in the future. I think it fits Sophie's character; she doesn't want to fight. She just wants to end peacefully, while Gustave believes that he can still change the world.

Impressed you actually found the special trash can, said "special trash can?" and then walked away from the special trash can. The description of it was a bit sarcastic to give it away (not to mention the glowing top)
