One thing which has been really important to me, is the effect of artificial sweeteners on people who are seriously insulin resistant. ANY sweetener, natural or not, can cause some glucose response for people like me, and pretty much halt any weight loss, even though we might still technically be in ketosis. I had to completely eliminate ALL sweets from my diet before being able to balance myself and begin losing weight.
I lost a number of months where I could have been losing weight, but I was using sweeteners like splenda, but I didn’t know that sweeteners, even artificial ones might be spiking my blood glucose to the point where they were prohibiting weight loss for me.
What about Bochasweet ?
ОтветитьSo basically if someone were to go zero carb but down bottles of diet soda they wouldn't lose weight?
ОтветитьBefore I tried Keto I eliminated most breads, pastas, pastries, and sweets based on sugar and transitioned to artificial sweeteners but not for baking. Now I have artificial sweetener in my coffee bec I cannot find any of the things from the USA eg stevia or monkfruit....just not available where I,live at all. Yeah I am mold enough to,remember when saccharine was introduced in diet salads and the cancer scare about that...every single sweet thing every single time has been said to be BAAAAAAD! THat will continue I am sure....some of this has been marketing BS over the past 5 decades...that is how long I have been trying to limit my sugar intake. Not hard to eliminate desserts when I have fat on keto but not going to,eliminate sweeteners from my coffee...Going on a very limited diet for,LIFE is incredibly hard to,maintain decade after decadd... talk to me when you're 70 and let me know if you have been a dietary profits for 50,yrs....also,eveyrndecade it's a whole new system that is popular....so good, luck, with that and all,of,it,has been viewed as scientifically based at the time.
ОтветитьMaybe that's why I'm on plateau, for using too much erithritol and stevia mix, every day....
I'll make the change immediately!
I've been using liquid sucralose and I think it is preventing me from getting back in ketosis. Hearing the connection between sucralose and Alzheimer's disease, I'm going to have to quit the liquid sucralose and go back to my original intention starting keto: to kick my sugar addiction. Sucralose is not helping me do that.
Ответитьgreat vid!..covered most of my questions....great info.
many thx for posting
YOU ROCK DOC. .GOD BLESS.
ОтветитьLook up miracle fruit. Decades before a man extracted miraculin from this fruit and the fda classified it as not safe. At the same time all the articial sweeteners came on the market. You can still buy dried miracle fruit. After chewing it everything sour tastes sweet! Lemonade made only from lemon and water for example.
ОтветитьNot great to show pictures of those sweets... makes us crave them more than we did before watching your video, which is counter intuitive to what you should be trying to achieve
ОтветитьMan you are full of s...
ОтветитьI love Splenda, Stevia is not sweet and tastes awful like sweet N low so I will switch try Monk Fruit.
ОтветитьIs Inulin considered a natural sweetener? How if that for Keto?
Ответитьcrystal lite?
ОтветитьI've been using sweet-N-low for the past 20+ years...or was it 25? Can't really remember.🤔
ОтветитьIs swerve confectioners safe to take during keto
ОтветитьI agree some of these sugar ought to be taken with caution due to high GI thus being kicked out of ketosis. However why is noone concerened about the processing of these 'safe sugars' ie GMO erythritol. Harmful affects of Aspartame and synthetic sugars- clogging up your lymphatic system. Stevia is ok yo consume sparingly but again most stevia now goes through a 40 stage process. Any sugars causing gut issues/killing of gut microbe is not a healthy way to live as most of your immune system is based in your Gut.
Theres a lot more to focus on than just the Low GI of an alternative sugar to the conventional white (GMO) sugar that equally causes health risks.
Please point me to the research proving sucralose raises blood sugar. I’m talking pure sucralose, not the powdered formula with maltodextrin and dextrose. Your info is about powdered formula. Why give poor info to your viewers?
ОтветитьThis is really bad news. Even erythritol and stevia might cause insulin spike over time! If that ever happens to me, maybe I will just want to switch back to good old refined sugar because it’s a lot cheaper and tastes a million times better.
ОтветитьThe sugar free popsicles, which I love have no more artificial flavoring, but are natural now. But they do contain Maltodextrin, which is a concern. But does the quantity of Maltodextrin vary from product to product? Are some just a trace? And why doesn't the label specify the quantity of Maltodextrin?
Ответитьso which sweeteners do neither affect insulin nor blood glucose?
Ответить🚫Arificial sweeteners.🚫 They might be worse than sugar.
Ear monk fruit sweetener or Stevia.
Is swerve good
ОтветитьIt’s ‘affect’ not ‘effect’.
ОтветитьYou can’t buy monk fruit any more without erythritol.
ОтветитьYou are so smart and explain things very well. I love watching your videos
ОтветитьGreat informative video. Thanks for the info.
ОтветитьLove the content!
ОтветитьSo I need to let sweetness go for good. Then what? What will my life be after that?
ОтветитьThe name brand Splenda has dextrose with the sucrolose, dextrose is sugar
ОтветитьI need some advice on how to the point of liking unsweet tea, I'm trying to drink more water which is a good thing and I do drinking diet soda's at times, trying to limit them as well.
ОтветитьWhat about Amla?
Ответитьbut you still will consume energy drinks........
ОтветитьBe aware that most packages labelled MonkFruit are actually 99.5% erythritol.
ОтветитьI dont eat sweets or sugar.
Aside from aspartame in my coffee and sugar free koolaids. Just wish the aspartame packets didnt have as much in them makes drinks too sweet
sucralose in liquid form no insulin response
Ответитьwe all gonna die anyway so if you want a lil sweet in your life go for it your still gonna die if you don't
ОтветитьChanges the way it looks at them? Lol
Ответитьhe didnt mention sweet n-low, anyone know if its good?
Ответить"Affect" and "effect" are two different words.
ОтветитьThis has definitely been the hardest part for me. I can down 4-5 Boston cream Dunkin’ Donuts after a bacon egg and cheese croissant and man it’s good. For years I couldn’t sleep from being in so much pain so I ate to get full and feel sleepy. I can’t eat nearly as much as most people I see doing NUK bangs and crazy eating online, I mean two McDoubles and a medium fry and I’m stuffed but for some reason sweets I can DOWN! I have PCOS and after being in ketosis for a few weeks it really changes your pallet. I mean now asparagus is sweet! Not like sugar of course but I’m tasting sugar in things I never did before.
I just made some 0 carb jello and it’s like 12 carbs (sugar alcohols from erythritol and allulose) and I’ll find out tomorrow if it keeps me in ketosis. If so, I’ll be over the moon!
So how about those roids, they doing you any good?
ОтветитьI think Sweetners should be used only for Sweet must food making. such as a Keto friendly Cake.
ОтветитьThank you for this video it has help me to stop using this sweetener 👏👏🇬🇧
Ответитьi Just saw that Gold Standard Whey Protein has 1g of sucralose. I guess I have to find something else.
ОтветитьI cannot handle artificial sweeteners; I tried. Just going to have to find a different way to fight my sweet tooth. Yes, it is completely psychological to me. It's how I got addicted.
So far there's only one thing I can handle: a little creamer in zero diet soda. I only can handle about 4 ounces a day, and what's Really ironic, it raises my blood sugar!
I drink a lot of drinks with artificial sweeteners and it does not affect my ketosis as I test myself often. All his science and studies are worthless and not proven. If you cut anything out of your life that you enjoy you do not have a life left. It's enough imo to stop smoking, drinking alcohol.... If you don't need them: great. If you want them: go ahead they may not be super healthy but trust me they DO NOT affect Ketosis.
ОтветитьVery true
