Cheaper is better, NICE!
ОтветитьBrilliant. Thank you! This was super informative and helpful.
ОтветитьI originally had the Paperlike. After trying the ESR, it's definitely the superior product. The paperlike picking up my writing a permanent marks on the screen was a major bummer. I felt like I wasted my money. ESR also now comes with nice video instructions, and a tray to help you install it.
ОтветитьAnyone else experience the esr screen not being responsive to writing over time?
ОтветитьESR is my first stop. Thx for your review. A request - to play a 4K video, an eBook text (ie Kindle) or AAA game, just to see the difference.
ОтветитьI’ve been using ESR for cases and screen protectors this year and am really impressed
Ответитьthe pencil wears down when u draw with it? how often am i gonna need to buy this? its very expensive. Also, i'm gonna be buying a normal screen protector instead of paper ones
ОтветитьUsing the ESR paper-like on my M4, absolutely a waste of money. They need to call it dirt-like, the texture is way too aggressive, feels like there is always something on the screen.
ОтветитьI just ordered an ESR protector because I used to have a Paperlike but my puppy decided he was curious about my iPad when I accidentally left it within his reach and he nibbled at it badly enough that the screen protector has an annoying gash in it, but thankfully, the Paperlike did its job and did, indeed, protet the screen. The Paperlike is however very pricey and I have noticed that it seems to show wear pretty easily. Hopefully my pup doesn't test the ESR's capabilities when I get it, but if I do, I'll be sure to report the results. This video does give me some comfort in that it does seem like the ESR should hold up pretty well.
ОтветитьThanks for the video. Probably could use an update. The ESR protector is much less expensive now (around $12/2 in the US). And would be good to get your take on the ESR after a longer use time. Thanks.
ОтветитьIts anti glare for esr seems good.
ОтветитьGood information
ОтветитьTotally love your honest reviews . Thank you so much for this video. Have an awesome day .
ОтветитьJust saying, The paperlike was installed incorrectly on the second go as well - You installed it upside down, which can happen very easily. When installed upside down it loses pretty much all of its matte / antireflective coating. This is also the reason it was scuffed up so much on the 5 min test.
I did the same with one of my paperlikes and yeah, the same thing happened.
However, I now use a brand called BERSEM Papernano. They're 9.99 on amazon for 2.
Thank you. Helpful video. 👍
ОтветитьI’m late to the party but I might need to try the ESR. I’ve tried what seems like everything else and I end up just scratching the heck out of the screen protector in the first week. To be honest I’d much rather wear down the nib on the Apple Pencil because that doesn’t affect my viewing pleasures and is easier to put on lol
Ответить❤
ОтветитьWhy can't you finish the comparison in 3 minutes and give a clear reco. Why waste time?
ОтветитьThanks so much for the review! I have just ordered myself the ESR after watching the review, hope it turns out to be decent. I think paperlike is too overpriced 45 dollars for a screen protector is wild 🫨
ОтветитьPaperlike is easier on the apple pencil tip with the cost of the screen protector wearing out; ESR is harder on the apple pencil tip with the benefit of the protector holding up under scribing use.
ОтветитьDo you still use this screen protector or have you had to replace it, and has it gotten any scratches overtime? Also has the ESR worn down your Apple Pencil?
ОтветитьGot mine today and I'm disappointed. I don't feel my writing experience is better. Even though there's a bit of a rough texture to it while making lines, this texture isn't consistent across all parts of the screen (maybe just an issue with mine?). The texture doesn't slow the pencil down enough to really make a significant difference while writing. It's only notable when making long lines (drawing), but for writing I think it would need to be rougher. To make things worse, I actually dislike how it feels when touching the screen with my fingers.
Installation wasn't great. The cleaning accessories are pathetic, smaller than the stuff you get with cheap screen protectors from Ali. The part which you're supposed to stick on first has very low adhesion, so when you try to remove the rest of the protective bit, it's really easy to pull away the whole thing and get a bunch of dust under it. And yes, that's exactly what happened to me.
The image degradation is huge. Not only are colors significantly worse, viewing angles are worse as well, to a point where just shifting my head slightly changes the perceived colors on the screen. It's noticeable even while just taking notes on a white background. There's this very grainy pattern across the whole screen, looks like miniature water drops. And although there aren't any straight up reflections, light sources at angles add this hue which ends up affecting a large section of the screen and makes readability much worse. Overall, even if this technically reduces glare, it ads so many negative properties to the screen that the glossy finish ends up performing better overall.
Which ipad is this, M2 Chip?
ОтветитьGuys I've had ESR for 2 months now! And I'm not liking it. Too much distortion I'm planning to remove it as soon as possible
ОтветитьI prefer the glass feel
Ответитьcan u tell me if one can use ipad mini for procreate?🤔
ОтветитьI recommend doing this with surgical gloves on
ОтветитьThank for honest review
Ответитьwould recommend esr or paperlike for drawing purpose?
ОтветитьGreat video mate. New subscriber and will be going for the ESR! ✌🏻
ОтветитьCan absolutely recommend the ESR paperfeel. Even if the pencil tip wears out faster, it‘s a pretty obvious choice to go for it. A Pencil tip is much cheaper and obviously less hard to swap out 😂
Imo Paperlike is hardly overpriced and much less durable as the test has proven.
Brands like Spigen and ESR provide installation stuff to guide smooth installation. it is really selfish on the part of paperlike to focus more on profits rather than consumer ease.
ОтветитьExcellent video and comparison.
ОтветитьThis was incredibly valuable! Thank you so much.
Ответитьhow fast did the ESR ruin the nib ? i want to see how often i will need to change it if i start using it
ОтветитьThese stuff seem so overpriced. Just got a case with a built in screen protector. It’s good enough for me at fraction of the price.
ОтветитьCould you also please provide a review of bellmond or tech armour. Would really love it.
But anyways amazing review, you earned a new subscriber 👍
Thanks for this. How's the ESR after a month?
Ответитьwhy im keep getting paperlike ads whenever i watch vids like thissss
Ответитьbeen using my paperlike since jan this year and its scratched to fuck already
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing this. I think I would prefer to change my apple pencil tip than the screen protector, a much easier process. I've always used a cheaper paperlike screen protector and it's been really good. I think I will try out the cheaper version you used on this. I was quite impressed. X
Ответитьloved this so much. the ESR seemed great but can you review Bellemond? :)
ОтветитьSeveral iPads. Never bought the Paperlike. Haven’t heard anything bad about that product tho’. I tend to use Bellmond & Bersem. They resemble that ESR in surface. Nice comparison, thanks.
ОтветитьThanks for this extremely helpful review. I was thinking of buying a screen-protector so it would mimic the feeling of paper, but if it isn’t that noticeable, I won’t bother. Anyway, I’m not keen on how it mutes the black, but that’s just me being picky.
Just wanted to also thank you for showing me how to change the pressure setting on my iPad in one of your videos. THAT was a game-changer for me, and makes drawing or writing feel a hundred times more natural and enjoyable. 👍
I have the ESR paper-feel screen protector and it's decent. No markings, and the screen is still nice. I recommend getting the one with the application tray, puts it on perfectly!
ОтветитьThanks for doing this video—I’ve only used Paperlike, so I’ve wondered about the quality of the other brands. I’ve struggled with applying them, even ended up wasting a version 2 of Paperlike, because it bent when I was trying to remove the backing. Sounds like I have a choice to make, regarding the trade off of wearing on the pencil nibs.
ОтветитьSo appreciate your thoughts on digital drawing products.
