Awesome Career Luke 2:40-52.
ОтветитьInfluencers made a bubble arouns tech. Even my grandma is learning python come on
ОтветитьSoftware is a bubble. It has exploded. AI and data is the thing now ( im feeling destroyed)
ОтветитьThe fuck you talking about
Ответить1-2 years is realistic. I was a UX designer and got a job after 6 months, was laid off and it took me a year and a half to land a job. Wasn't even a UX role. But the company saw I knew design and now I'm a graphic designer for them and looking to add projects to keep it moving to eventually get a UX role. Feel like anything in tech right now is super hard because all companies want right now is AI and are probably over hiring for it much like during COVID everyone wanted devs and UX designer. Not sure where things are going to go but I just know you're right, keep at it. Even if you learn to code in 6 months then look for a job, you'll keep evolving your skill set that by the time you land a Role, you'll be so much better than if you landed it in a short time. When you're hungry you want to be fed. You'll keep working so so hard that I'm sure it'll be better than a job with your growth. Was that for me at least
ОтветитьThanks for this man,, just finished my certificate in Software Engineering, looking for a job right now as I build some passion projects,
I'm essentially python developer,
Would it help if I have a CS engineering degree and a Master's on web development focused on Typescript, React and AWS deployment?
ОтветитьI know absolutely nothing about coding or computer science, but I used chatgpt to create a bunch of little programs for me for learning japanese. So far, I made a flash card app, an audio generator app, and an offline kanji dictionary. For the rest, I use chatgpt. Chatgpt kind of makes all other programs useless because it's much better.
ОтветитьIt seems that recruiter doesn’t watch the portfolio o you’re site…..
if don’t see a degreee or experience they reject it immediately.
It’s sad because maybe the portfolio is an astounding one .
We need this kind of honesty in the community man. Every single student or anyone aspiring to do digital work of any regard needs to LEARN AI RIGHT NOW. Seriously NOT AN OPTION. Better sooner than later. It's a tool that's going to make you more productive, period.
ОтветитьNot everyone or every business is concerned with AI 😅
ОтветитьNot all people earn 100k. A lot of people earn 50- 30k and they are completely happy as there is no grind like in 150k to 250k
ОтветитьSome of the best advice ive heard so far.
ОтветитьI love you man, subscribe added!
Please explain why do you recommended getting an AI degree in college
hey chris,i am focused on learning AI and data science and javascript but i don't know how to start,so if its possible i would like you to be my tuitor
Ответитьthe question is , if you are born in the 1st world , why the hell would you get yourself in this lifeless field ? why choose this sad life !??
i am a web dev , and i only am in this field to get out of the 3rd world !!! if there was another way i would do it but sadly , there's not ! only IT is the way !
if i get paperwork allowing me to live in the 1st world without the risk of expultion to the 3rd world , i will any thing but coding ! anything !!! , selling hot dogs is better , working at mc donalds is better because it's less stressful !! i would focus on working to open a little coffe shop or grocery store and put in work to make it better , instead of slaving away for 48 hours weeks !!!!!!!!!!!
The person who is going to beat you is the person who knows how to code, and at the same time understands how to operate a lathe. Someone who can take the schematic from the screen and into the physical world by machining. The people you have to worry about are the electricians who learn how to code. These are the people getting all the jobs. The time of easy work is over. When tech companies hired people just so other companies wouldn’t hire them and have them. Also, improve your physical appearance. It sends a cognitive message to the person interviewing you. If you look like you sit at a computer screen all day and have a flabby body, not good.
Ответитьlol this video. As if it will only affect Junior devs. ALL developers including senior and middle level developers are being let go and not being hired.
ОтветитьAfter completing associate school, I landed a 3-month paid internship in Canada. To my surprise, within just a month of wrapping up the internship, I had three job offers on the table, all offering above-market-average salaries for an entry-level full-stack position. I started my new job in early February 2023! Not that bad, right? 😄🇨🇦💼
ОтветитьMy employer forbids the use of AI in theyre policy.
ОтветитьGreat video. The moment you stop learning, you become invaluable.
ОтветитьI literally just got an associate's degree in web development. I got it for free which is a plus but I feel the market is just so saturated now that it was a waste of time. Should I keep at it and try to get a software development job or switch to a different IT field? I was thinking AWS or Cybersecurity just nothing with too much math because I suck at math lol. I also would rather not go back to school and would rather just study for a certification instead.
ОтветитьWell, youre looking at big companies, with their workload of course they're going to use AI, but you miss the fact that there are more than thousands of smaller companies and organizations that need programmers, computer and data scientists. Also ye AI IS taking over but thats not the one who's going to beat you in the race, its the people using AI to their advantage, so play by the current rules of the game.
Ответитьdont think knowing coding is a handicap, its gonna be more useful than ever cuz average peoples wont understand how it actually works, coding isnt just about landing a job, but its going to be a life skill
ОтветитьDef needed to hear this as I'm getting into Code , thanks Chris and keep up the good work and words of wisdom. Wishing you good fortune brotha Cheers from Bay Area,CA !
Ответитьis 33 too old to go back for a second BS in comp sci?
Ответить23 years exp career coder. Man, I wish I chose something else. Something that got me outside more. Feel like my whole life has passed by in front of a screen.
ОтветитьYou're only taking about BIG tech companies!!
It's sad that video like this does not portray the reality -_- ! Stop expecting applying for FANG companies ! Search for a job in small - mid size company. 😂
Hearing people talk about how ai will change everything makes me think of when people said web3 and the blockchain would change everything. I'm this time is different....
ОтветитьjQuery not bad, I started by looking for react jobs, did multiple interviews, couldn't get anything. Did one jQuery interview and got the job.
ОтветитьI landed my job in 2 months of learning data analytics. I did not even learn Python. I got the job only with Excel, MySQL and Power BI this year.
ОтветитьIf you are consistently working over 40 hours a week, you are at the wrong job.
ОтветитьMinorities and women have an advantage because of affirmative action. I am part of the hiring process and since I have been on the team (3 years), we interviewed every single minority and woman that applied. We hired some of them too although they weren't the most qualified.
ОтветитьSorry I didn't get past the intro. It made me feel the video will be just spreading negativity and in light of being of the intended audiance, last thing I need is negativity to affect my mentality
ОтветитьWhy do we all pretend that all of programming is comprised of frontend development? What about full stack developers? What about DevOps engineers? Server admins, security consultants, Cloud engineers? How is AI relevant for someone designing proprietary software for industry use? Or for a Virtualization engineer?
ОтветитьCodecademy or ZtM (Zero to Mastery)?...HELP!!?
ОтветитьGreat Advice, must be adaptable and persistent. Programming is evolving. In the midst of the A.I. revolution, being a beginner can have it's advantages. For example, At a google devfest, I overheard a senior dev worry about not being able to properly train junior devs because of the skill gap between both parties. Where junior devs are being taught the new trends hence A.I. Hearing that made me realize theirs levels to learning and it's okay to be a beginner . Whether 3 months or 3 years it will be worth it because it's honest hard work that I am investing in myself. I know getting the first gig is gonna be sweet. I do feel it's a gold rush for A.I. and it's better to sell the picks and shovels or what not while digging for gold. Anyhow, thanks for the motivation Chris.

It’s crazy. I started my coding journey a year ago. Right around when ChatGPT started getting popular. Crazy
ОтветитьWe shouldn't single out devs, a lot of fields are facing this threat, writers, artists, even some accountants, etc... quitting coding, abandoning an opportunity to learn something useful is not an option. I think we just have to find a way to co-exist with it, because if we will abandon every field that is at a "future threat" right now, there will be millions jobless...
ОтветитьDon’t bother. These big companies don’t care about you.
ОтветитьRefreshing level of honesty
ОтветитьIts not harder, its easier than ever now lol
Ответитьjust use all the tools what you expert, and get the jobs done
ОтветитьIf AI is taking over the coding world as far as jobs go, then the field I’m in now is certainly getting replaced by AI. Guess I’ll just be unemployed
ОтветитьI just found this channel. This channel is epic. One of the best I've seen, period.
Ответить
