I have a crack on my screen protector that perfectly traces the line of one of those dead trees out that window.
Isn’t that fun.
I loved nirvana the band episodes… so ahead of their time!
ОтветитьLove Nirvana the band the show! Matt is one of the most interesting creators out there right now, and this conversations showed how much depth and consideration he puts into his work
ОтветитьEvery time I watch interviews with Matt I get re-invigorated about the creative process and feel like I could do anything! Bring it on!
Ответитьloved this interview, prompted a rewatch of NTBTS
ОтветитьPete I love you but please have a dermatologist on. There is nothing wrong with any sunscreen on the market. They are all tested throughly and are safe. Zinc oxide is just a mineral just like uranium is. It’s not any more inherently safe for your skin than any other sunscreen “natural” doesn’t mean better. The most toxic substances on earth are all found in nature. (Botox, arsenic etc.). You might be scaring someone away from using a perfectly safe and effective sunscreen and they might end up with cancer. You are misinformed I’m sorry to say it and it would do you and your audience a huge favor to try to have an expert (chemical engineer etc) that can explain this better than I can
ОтветитьAm I crazy or is his background music for the ad spots an instrumental of "Bassnectar - The 808 Track", it strikes me so oddly every time
Ответитьecstatic about this! huge matt johnson fan, i even asked for this episode in the comments of the glenn howerton episode lol
ОтветитьCommenting again now that I’ve finished. Been listening for years and this is one of the best eps! Pete may have felt in a funk but was an amazing listener here and fostered a great conversation
ОтветитьPete's desire to call out the bullshit of a movie production reminded me of the R.D. Laing quote, "They are playing a game. They are playing at not playing a game. If I show them I see they are, I shall break the rules and they will punish me. I must play their game, of not seeing I see the game” -Dunno what the punishment is quite. This kind of opprobrium?
ОтветитьYesssss!
ОтветитьPlease do more realistic Mario. It’s been almost a decade since the last one.
ОтветитьThis is like a podcast with a mirror rofl
ОтветитьReally great, Pete! Loved this! It was inspiring and I'm definitely going to check out more of yours and Matts work. Thank you!
ОтветитьI'm listening to the Jake Johnson episode on a podcast, and I was just thinking...How perfect would it be to edit the scene at the end of Jurassic World where Lauren Lapkus tells Jake that she's engaged, and you cut to Pete Holmes as her fiancé? Crossover city, baby!!!
Ответитьmaking good choices, mr. holmes.
ОтветитьDude, watching Blackberry, it was so refreshing to see TMNT held in such high regard.
Ответитьyeah let’s make the AD’s life harder
ОтветитьWait this is NOT Jord Samolesky?
ОтветитьWhat a cool guy.
Ответитьfor those that wanna watch the show theyre up on The Internet Archive
ОтветитьGreat chat and meeting of like minds! Long time fan of Pete, but just discovered Matt from Blackberry - which is embarrassing as I’m Canadian so I should know his other work - but that speaks to the point that U.S. media is so much more widespread.
Ответитьdamn this guy is annoying
ОтветитьI had the opportunity to meet Matt during an after party for "The Dirties" in Toronto. Very humble and genuine guy.
ОтветитьBeautiful stuff
Ответитьthis is the best interview for both parties.
ОтветитьI admire Matt. I want to escape my low adapative peaks. and I too rebelled against the structure and rules, thinking that those who did were uncreative sheep. I need to make my peace with certain rules.
ОтветитьThe Dirties is brilliant too
ОтветитьFirst time listener. Came for Matt, stayed for your beautiful conversation. Can deeply, deeply connect w “the thing you want is on the other side of the thing you don’t want.” Thank you both, Pete especially—such a pleasant surprise all around.
Ответить2 GOATS
ОтветитьThese guys look like brothers
ОтветитьI have no clue who Matt is but I really enjoyed this conversation!!!
ОтветитьSuch a great interview, thank you guys =) Also, the fact that the chase scene from the museum in season 1 of NTBTS was "real" is mind-boggling!
ОтветитьWhen Pete mentioned Lord of the Rings and how you should hold onto power, you should throw it into the fire.
I lingered on that situation and thought: "If I can give everyone the means to help others, then when I am in need, someone will help." And that ladies and gentlemen is a power that won't corrupt.
Conversation was truly enlightening.
Cruisin' USA
Nirvanna the Band the Show (both web series and Vice series) is hands down the most underrated show to ever exist.
ОтветитьThe Dirties is another great Matt Johnson joint.
ОтветитьHuge amount of respect for Matt. Very inspiring guy creatively.
ОтветитьPlease have Matt back on! I love this episode so much, I’ve watched it at least 3 times
ОтветитьSitting at 666 likes, cant be the one to break that. Seriously love this this conversation, gained a new respect for Pete. Cant wait to explore his work.
ОтветитьThis podcast really opened my eyes towards how I experience creativity and storytelling. Thank you so much for this conversation.
ОтветитьSuch a fucking good conversation. Thank you
Ответитьdiscovering this on dxm is a god send. matt is my hero
ОтветитьThis is really good interview/podcast.
ОтветитьMatt Johnson and his work are so underrated.
