The choke lever was not in correct position for starting...fully right side.

Hello! I am working on one of these right now, got it for free from a buddy. It only runs if you continually press the primer and I found that whatever connects the choke pull (silver, shaped like a boomerang) and the choke lever (above the carburetor) is missing. I don’t know if this is some kind of connector rod or a spring. Do you know? I can’t find it anywhere on the diagrams online

Anyone have any suggestions for this issue? I have one that works well, carburetor needs to be adjusted but I have noticed that when I run it, and try to switch the key from on to off, it does not turn off. Eventually I either have to let the gas run our OR pull out the spark plug (which I don't recommend). Any recommendations on a fix for this?

Needle seat is probably blocked will more crap. I have a 2008 5HP Sears Craftsman Snow-thrower. I maintain it very well and every winter it wants outside to work. I feed it seafoam at times, and give 89 octane gas like the rest of my equipment. I put in a fuel additive when finish with the winter season.

My MTD unit is similar to yours and I bought it new in 1994. The Tecumseh Engine is 3HP. I am wary of using Ethanol Gas in it. It runs so much better on NO Ethanol Premium Unleaded. I also stay away from using Synthetic Oil which seems to be the only thing they sell these days in small bottles. Good find on the float. All of the engine parts are original in mine. I drain the sump every Spring. Do not damage the felt O Ring on the Nut or it will leak gas. I put oil on it and only tighten as necessary.

I was wondering why you didn't check for restrictions on the bowl nut when you were cleaning the float, bowl, and nut. I've found 90% of the time when you can only get it to run by priming it's a clogged bowl nut. Anyway, great video, thanks for posting.

I just want to Thank you!! So much for this video! Help me so much with my machine, I have the same machine. After watching your video I added Sea Foam product to my gas ⛽ tank. Best stuff on the market. I poured a lot in the gas tank, let it run the black smoke that came out it was incredible. I took the silver cup off and it was so clean from the sea foam I put in. So far so good!! Thanks to you I was just about to send my machine to the curb!! Thank you again 😊🙏

Quit using gas with ethanol. Use premium gas and you won't have a problem.

I just picked up a very similar machine, but someone took off the model # sticker. Would you mind posting a picture or the numbers from yours? I know there is risk and a chance mine wont be the same, but willing to take the risk sunce there is no other way to find it I'm aware of. Thanks in advance!
