So the biblical God is a “God of the gaps” only in the sense that we naturally ask ourselves the question “where and for what purpose did the universe come into being” and then “what is the meaning of our lives” – however, the universe, our world and people do not answer these questions directly or exhaustively, so we have a certain “gap”, but a gap in knowledge of a completely different kind. It is not even knowledge in the strict sense, but rather a need for a holistic justification, understanding, in which the broader picture does not invalidate the details, but the details do not cause us to lose sight of the broader picture. However, it is precisely on the basis of our intuitions, internal insight and fragmentary, scattered, but indicating certain patterns of knowledge (knowledge about ourselves and the structure of the universe) that we assume the existence of a Creator who explains all this – and on the same basis we conclude about His possible characteristics, intentions and goals. No single phenomenon in this world that science can work out can tell us the full truth about the Creator, although it may indicate some aspect of Him. And certainly none of these phenomena are “divine” in the sense in which C.S. Lewis put it: an architect designs a house, but a fireplace or a window in that house cannot be an architect. However, when a person remains honest with themselves and does not deny their deepest existential needs (as if they were just “wishful thinking” and the whim of a child who wants a new toy), and at the same time such a person wants to know the truth, then it turns out that the features that they logically begin to attribute to God coincide with the outline of the biblical God, whose image is even more abundantly brought out by Christian theology. Either way – we see that we are most likely the only beings in this world who have a mind, consciousness, who discover morality within themselves that they can break, who are able to understand, plan, design. They are creative, moral, conscious, self-aware, thinking abstractly. That is why, in fact, we cannot separate questions about the meaning of the world from questions about the meaning of ourselves, of our existence. And I don’t think it’s just our atavism, naive cognitive error, projection, wishful thinking or – this is the best accusation – “anthropocentrism”. This is ridiculous, because the eternal goal that makes sense to us, in practice, also makes sense to our earthly fate, and the lack of such a goal makes us postmodern children in the fog. All these concepts are therefore a double-edged sword, an invention of pseudo-skeptics who find perverse pleasure in denying existential needs, in seeing themselves as products of blind forces of nature in the vastness of a purposeless cosmos, in separating all these “meanings” in such a way that the meaning of our lives has nothing to do with objective morality. When such people lose themselves in scientific details, they may be guided by wishful thinking and wish that their naturalistic paradigm were the unquestionable truth. However, all this may turn out to be the short-sighted naivety of an intellect obsessed with details – the wish that our lives would have no deeper meaning; that a potential Creator would not be interested in us, because look at this vastness of space! Isn’t it naive to think that the all-powerful Engineer engages in such “waste of space” just so that we can live, discover His laws and be delighted even with these fragments? Indeed – there is something romantic in this vision, because we ourselves are romantic, and besides, all our basic life goals are somehow connected with passion, love, fascination. Not with pure intellect. I don’t know where exactly the argument for projecting such features onto God is supposedly by definition “naive and anthropocentric” is. We simply naively assume that an engineer of this scale could not build a large villa for a small family, even if no one else suffers from it – and that most of the space in this large building must serve something other than our healthy curiosity, the desire to enjoy this place (supposedly so small, and yet so large for us), the practical functioning in it, and the sense of beauty. And also the desire to get to know this strange Engineer, who above all seems to be an Artist. To modern man, every technical goal of a possible God seems more significant than the assumption that our human life is not just a series of experiences, and that we encounter God's work, albeit fallen, at every turn. Perhaps man has abstracted God in his own image, but if such a God exists, then human efforts to get to know this God may at the same time be God's attraction to this knowledge. Man, however, has wisely perceived that he has rightly inferred the existence of God, who created him, and not the other way around. The point is that in practice we are always anthropocentric, and at the same time seeking something that transcends us. That is why there is such an extremely anthropocentric consumerism today, and the highest idol, which is favored by the supposedly enlightened humanity today... is nature. On the one hand, the quite rational conclusion that the destruction of the planet may backfire on us - on the other hand, the glorification of nature and natural phenomena. Hugging trees and the desire to kill the human opponent. The glorification of nature is ultimately incoherent; nature as a "last resort" is unable to provide us with the basis for a moral, reasonable life, because we are only part of it, and the mind points to the Mind.

Science is a description of God's creation.

Jesus Was Born Incarnate

Jesus was born incarnate to a young Jewish virgin, lived a sin free life, was illegally persecuted and then crucified on a cross on Calvary. He arose three days later defeating death and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God.

Jesus met with 515 people after His resurrection in a dozen different occasions over a period of about 40 days before He ascended into Heaven.

Jesus knew He was entering the world to be the final and ultimate sacrifice for the sin of mankind. His body had been divinely prepared by God specifically for that purpose. Jesus was going to die for the sins of the world, and He knew it. Moreover, He was doing it willfully and joyfully.

Jesus came to earth to reveal God to mankind and teach truth. He came to fulfill the Law and offer His Kingdom to mankind. He came to show us how to live. He came to reveal God’s love. He came to bring peace. He came to heal the sick. He came to minister to the needy.

He was raised in a family who didn't believe in His divinity. He had six half-brothers and two or three half-sisters who didn't believe in His divinity until after His resurrection.

What gets me is demons knew His divinity but many men and women of His time didn't.

I presume Mary and Joseph knew His divinity. But in Luke 2:49-50 [NKJV] “He said to them, [His earthly parents] “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

This makes me wonder, did they not understand Jesus' divinity?

"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)

Luke 3:23 states that Jesus was "about 30 years of age" at the start of his ministry.

The four Gospels record 37 miracles of Jesus, with Mark's Gospel recording the most. Three New Testament words refer to Jesus's miraclesas power, signs, and wonder. Every miracle of Jesus served a specific purpose in God's plan of salvation for mankind.

Jesus' miracles were followed by Jesus forgiving the individuals of their sins and commanding they sin no more. Many of Jesus' miracles were not identified. No other religious leader forgave mankind of their sins.

29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The Purpose of John’s Gospel

“Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which were not recorded in the Bible.

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:29-31 KJV)

Our sins separate us from God, and there’s nothing we can do to make things right. So, we need someone to save us from our sins and make us acceptable to God. That someone is Jesus Christ. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for among men there is given no other Name under heaven, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 GNV)

That’s why God sent Jesus to earth. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for every wrong we’ve ever committed in the past, present or will commit in the future. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God the Father. We are sinner from birth and need help, Jesus Christ is that help and our only hope.

Therefore by the deeds of the law (Ten Commandments) no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law our sins are recognized not saved.

We must confess (repent) of our sins and iniquities before Jesus Christ, at the foot of the cross daily and pick up our cross and follow Him.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, to His disciples that: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”

I will not stand before The Great White Throne of God, my sins have been cleansed by Jesus Christ's crucifixion on the cross. And I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ of all my sins and iniquities before today, today and forever.

I Love Jesus Christ and despite of the fact that I'm human and I fail Him daily, I pick up my cross daily and follow Him. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was crucified on the cross where He died for my sins and inequities and that He rose again on the 3rd day to give me a way through salvation and sanctification, for my known and unknown sins. He loves me dearly and has forgiven me of my sins and inequities. His Word says that if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before His Father.

I believe these greatest verses in God's Word. "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV)

I am a Christ-follower and live in the Kingdom of God on earth in Jesus Christ, my Lord, Savior and Leader. I have faith and trust in the grace and mercy of God for eternal life for my soul in Heaven when I pass from this life into paradise.

I proclaim this openly to the world, that I am sinner, that I am sorry for my sins and iniquities and repent of my sins and iniquities and receive Jesus Christ by faith into my heart, mind and soul as my Lord, Savior and Leader. I believe God has accepted me and I'm not worried about the “The Great White Throne” judgment of God. I know that one day I will go to spend a glorious and fascinating eternity with God, Jesus Christ and other believing Christians who are in Heaven.

Jesus loves me unconditionally, and voluntarily and joyfully died on the cross on Calvary for my past, present and future sins, that's the heart of Christianity and why I am a Christian and not any other religion.

Transhumanism is the funniest thing. It comes from the minds of evolutionists who claim that evolution itself has either slowed down or come to a halt and that mankind needs to "help push" evolution along. I have been lead to the court room of God more then once when trying to understand the suffering of say children and the awful thing done to them like abortion, killings violation of the body. And I’m always brought to the thrown of God and the white thrown judgement and free will and I’m brought to our court systems and how they work you can’t prosecute some one with out proof of there deeds that brake the law you need proof so we are given free will to make the choices to do the deeds so when we are in front of God he can show what was done in order to fairly judge you to all and show his righteousness in his judgement. Also due to our free will we open the door to some of these evils we go through remember there is an accuser in heaven at Gods throw who accuse day and night and in law of good and evil if we say watch an show the portrays, evil witchcraft, demons, or accepting it and now the accuser can say they’re allowing this in they’re looking at it. It’s entering into their site into their mind to think about it. That gives me a right to act upon it since they chose to observe it and by us choosing that we give the enemy a grounds to come in and accuse us and by law they have a right to show us

After going through hell on earth and being able to stay alive, I more and more believe that there is indeed a great God in charge. I wish I could supplement on what Mr. John has said but I can't. The only thing I will say is this; "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding;" Proverbs 3:5. I want to meet Mr. John one day and shake his hand, the only problem is that we may be so much in agreement that the old man may get a heart attack. Haha

Making an argument for religion but completely ignores the negative results religious mindsets are responsible for. Good argument but single sided omiting critical information.

The human genome doesn't show there is an intelligent mind behind it, that is an interpretation of the science, not the science itself. Lenox might not be committing the God of the Gaps fallacy when he says that a mind is the only explanation that makes sense, but he is guilty of committing an argument from personal incredulity.

Does John believe that we are children of God?

Trouble is that no proofs for God indicate any particular god. But many religious people posses the famous "Need to Believe". So suddenly they believe their god has been proved. These proofs for god usually involve seeing intention in nature. In ancient times this apparent intentionality permeated the whole world and everything was explained as the working of gods. Lightening was thrown by Zeus. Then science began explaining the world without gods. Now the same type of people among us see things not yet explained and jump on God again. Please give science a hundred or so years. But as for the Christian God we need to be able to prove billions of people are being tortured in Hell and everyone is silent on how that's to be achieved. But the belief that there's intentionality loose on the universe is weak. It all seems to assume that our reason can penetrate all aspects of reality. I function on the belief that 99.9% of reality will always evade our intellect and senses. We are amazing creatures but small in an unimaginably large universe.

Stones! There’s no back door into heaven.

The Bible says that only Jesus Christ is the Rock of Ages! (Isaiah 26:4).

This morning as I woke up, I started contemplating the account about where Jesus Christ changed Simon Peter to Simon Bar-jonas or a little pebble or Stone! That was in Matthew 16:17 and not too long after, Peter denies Jesus three times. Then, after properly repenting, and then after Jesus’ resurrection, Peter says’Lord you know that I love you’ John 21:17, Peter was finally converted.

So, there seems to be many Christian’s that are Stones Matthew 16 Christians. Like Peter, they are impetuous, proud, often wrong and being corrected by God, they have a purpose. Reminding people that the Covenant between God and man is still constitutional and relevant.

But then you have the fully converted Christian’s or John 21. Fully in love with Jesus Christ, committed to feeding the sheep, keeping the Commandments of God and having faith OF Jesus Christ or the spirit of prophecy. (Revelation 14:12 - 16). Peter and 10 other Apostles. eventually giving up his life for his God.

Exodus 20:8 starts with‘Remember’ because he knew that we’d forget! We all need to have our true conversion moment!

The 'god of the gaps' is not a god or a thing at all; it is a notional metaphor that religious apologists use to fill in the gaps of scientific knowlege that, are so far, not explained.

He confuses evolution with micro biology it’s not the same one precludes the other and I like John too very articulate but it doesn’t solve the issue to reference the lack of evidence for anything supernatural which of course is a god.
