Manual transmission is overrated. Back in the day, sure. It had a long list of advantage with automatic were still clunky and less fuel efficient. Nowadays however, those advantages have all but evaporated, leaving only nostalgia as a reason to choose MT. BTW, I owned the first generation GLI with a 5 speed and 100 hp. It was far from a street burner power wise, but on winding roads it handled great and was just a joy to drive.

Speaking as a GTI owner, I can only say "Stay away from VW!". Yes, these cars feel premium and are enjoyable to drive, but never buy one as a daily driver! Most unreliable POS I have ever owned, and it's barely three years old. Some design flaws are just mind-boggling. Only car enthusiasts who love to get their hands dirty should own VWs.

I hate the new Jetta so much.
But...the GLI is looking very good. More aggressive plus the horrendously huge Grille looks better when it’s broken up with the red line in the middle. Very good.

I’m Canadian and I was not a fan of Hatch backs.
3 years ago I bought my first hatch, Mini Cooper S and I fell in love with hatches. 😅

I prefer the GLI Autobahn. The only thing besides the cheap looking interior that I do not like is that there are no front & rear parking sensors on the GLI Autobahn. I live in NYC and the parking situation is critical. I sometimes have to squeeze into small parking spaces and I would hate to ding up the awesome bumpers. I also, have a parking/ bumper guard that I keep in my trunk while I drive and after I park I put down so that others don't scuff up my bumpers. I think VW needs to offer parking sensors on the upper trim GLI's and I don't mind paying extra for them either.

I don’t think those are empty buttons...I don’t think any VW offers a feature for each of the “buttons”. I think the “ blanks” are to give the console a symmetrical look.

Wow, the new Civic has the same taillights as this Jetta which it also copied from the previous-gen Sonata. In other words, they copied Hyundai's old styling.

Armrest back cover has very cheap look ((( Chineese version of this car has rear vents with black glossy frame and looks much better and has more functionality. Too bad that USA market model has so cheap solution (((

My 2023 GLI is very well-built the doors feel super solid slightly heavy but great build quality and I can't get over how actually smooth writing and quiet and how fast this car really is now keep in mind I am coming out of a Mark 8 GTI
