It doesn't work for me. I see the device in Device Manager and I can browse to it in Explorer, and it shows up as a non-Android device in Android Studio. When I use the, adb devices, command, nothing shows up. So my computer see it, and even lists it as a TC8000, but Android Studio refuses to see it as an Android device.
