How to Catch Trout with Powerbait - Color SHOWDOWN! Amazing Underwater Trout Strikes and Reactions

I’ve used pink power bait one time and couldn’t stop catching trout

night crawler and mini mash mellow get big ones

Yellow Power Eggs have been my go to for trout for 15 or so years. Use two, run hook through the top egg, run out through the bottom. I run a tiny splitshot and a larger sliding clip on sinker about 2 ft above the bait. Have had some success with white and red, but yellow is the best. I'm in rural, Central Pa.

Why is this a video? They are a farm raises stocked fish you can catch them with anything. I caught one barehanded out of the river this year. A 14 incher. Its like fish in a barrel. If you cant catch trout quit fishing its not for you.

Man there were a lot of eaters down there. Its crazy how much goes on under the water that we're dumb to.

Don't use Powerbait unless you plan to eat the fish.

Hi do use the rainbow and the yellow for the last couple of years it’s been yellow

i knew a guy that would buy skittles, eat half the bag
and fish with the rest. they dont hold their color
as long as they used to, no idea if it still works. (but probably since they turn white?)

Green got scuffed

A lot of it has to do with light and water clarity, plus time of day. If the sun is super bright purple works great. If the water is clear pink. If the water is murky or dark chartreuse works great. Generally chartreuse is thr most universal attention grabber for trout.

I assume these are hatchery trout not wild , in that case it would be interesting to see how wild Rainbow or Cutthroat Trout react to the power bait

I think it depend on the weather, you can sit there all day fishing with no bite, some days it goes crazy with no change on bait.

Back in the late 90s early 2000s all we used was pink power bait, it worked so well compared to the others we never wanted to use anything else. I don’t live near trout anymore or I’d still be using it.

You can use whatever color you want, as long as it’s pink.

Seems the fish prefer the lighter colors in the clear water

This past February we were fishing Triploid trout from the bank and after trying original scent, turbo scent on two poles I switched to extra scent power bait, it was doubles and limits every day in 45 min- an hour and 10 min every day. So don’t forget to change up scents also.

Damn my secret is out haha. I always used pink for trout and I got that info from an old fisherman. This goes the same for pink plastic worms and such.

Try not to put as much power bait on the hook.....
Just enough for a ball that leaves the hook and barb end free....

If ye want the bigger aggressive trout use a mep so it gets through all the wee fish and the big ones chase it done

what hook size do I need for 3-4kg trout using power bait eggs?

I’ve never had a bite with power bait, so it looks like I need to go with your method

Of course it changes with what they are feeding on and what time of year it is.

I use nightcrawlers and they bite faster than power bait
