What was the case/bag that holds all your stuff called? (In the pocket portion)
ОтветитьAnother reason to carry a star lug nut wrench is if you aren’t strong enough to loosen the lug nuts in the traditional way then it’s easier to put your weight on it. A few years back when I was younger and thin, I literally had to jump up and down on it to get the lug to loosen. The good news is, I got the tire changed and drove to the closest place I could to get the nuts tightened. Ok, now that you’re all done laughing, these days I carry a flashlight that will blink red, the number of the road service, my tech’s number, and a power bank. Which brings me to my point. Review your packs regularly and consider what you should do, not just what you can do. For example, I can jump my car but I shouldn’t lift a tire out of the trunk. I also have a spring loaded glass breaker hanging from the passenger headrest and know how to break the side window. If your (grand)mother doesn’t have one then please get her one and teach her how to use it. I don’t need the beanie where I am but I always have water and Grayl bottle for filtration. You get the grift. I watch these shows and have my own version of EDC but these days is closer to a multi tool with bits and an ouch pouch as my knowledge/training outstrips my capabilities. Thanks to all of you for helping the little old ladies.
ОтветитьOne of the more interesting things I’ve heard people keeping in their car kit is a small chainsaw. When I lived in eastern Tennessee, it wouldn’t be uncommon for a tree to come down and block a road off. Guy I worked with kept a chainsaw in his jeep, and said he’s used it on several occasions. Also, there’s a way to charge your car battery using a chainsaw. I forgot which video I’ve seen it in, probably wranglestar, but you used the engine on the chainsaw to turn your belts, getting the alternator to charge the battery for you.
ОтветитьOnce?
ОтветитьBeen doing EDC for a while. It literally makes day to day life easier. Every grown ass man needs a daily kit.
ОтветитьI like being prepared but I wish others thought the same way I get tired of being that guy who’s prepared and handing out tools and knives
ОтветитьI wonder if this guy travels a lot?
Ответить"EDC" pouches and kits is just a cool new way to say "travel bag"... The acronym EDC is meant to describe a gun or knife, not a glorified pocket protector and travel kits... Where did it all go wrong? EDC just became a niche word to describe these boy scout "EDC kits" with chapstick & phone chargers... An EDC video and he pulls out a tire iron?😂
ОтветитьWhen you said you had a 4runner I knew this was the channel for me
ОтветитьVery watery as usual! And that’s all lack of personality and extra pride 😅
ОтветитьA ratcheting cable winch hauler (in Michigan they're often called a "Come-Along") is useful to keep in a vehicle as well. You hook one end to a tree, solid metal fence, bigger vehicle or somesuch. Then you hook the other end to the car you want to move, then you ratchet it along to a new location. Great for rural areas where you might have to pull your car out of a ditch yourself.
ОтветитьPilot G2 are not waterproof. .... Get a ballpoint pen like a Uni Jetstream. Very smooth writing and waterproof.
Ответитьnice vid
ОтветитьEDC Means Every Day Carry of firearm & other self-defense tools!
ОтветитьLeatherman will only prosper if they start to LISTEN to their customers.
They're totally opaque and that creates a huge problem with perceived arrogance and inability to engage with people.
If a product is being discontinued, TELL the public, so people can buy one before they miss out !
Cuttergate seems to prove that management & design aren't listening to the Warranty dept !! There's obvious major communication problems 🙄
Cool video. What's the zip-up gray edc pouch?
ОтветитьGreat video. I have a system I call OWN EDC. On Me; With Me; Near Me.
ON ME: in my pockets or attached to me. WITH ME: a small satchel/pouch that is always within reach. NEAR ME: a small bag that has a few of the larger items that I want to always have available. (*I'm not talking about a GHB that is designed to be packed and left alone ready to go). Which category each of my EDC items falls into depends on my day. It varies greatly between a workday when I am wearing a suit and working in an office, compared to the weekend when my clothing choice allows me to keep a lot more items On Me. The items don't really change, just how I carry them. The WHY stays pretty consistent.
I used to keep the 4 way lug wrench in the trunk of my car but less storage space under the seat of my pick up, I carry an 18" breaker bar and I have a few different sized impact sockets in my tool bag
ОтветитьUndo that top button mate
ОтветитьI would like to commend you on your presentation skills, I watch a lot of videos about edc and think that not only your good aspects of edc, but your personal experiences help to reinforce what all you carry for your edc. I really like your logic about stacking one edc upon another, because it’s like it covers all the bases for carrying an edc. Great job sir!!!!
ОтветитьMan I hate humans, here in Germany the Spork with the knife in the handle would be illegal, because its an knife disguised as something else and I just know people would carry them all the time if they were legal so I'm actually glad they are illegal.
ОтветитьHold on a minute, so you used to carry a torniquet, and presumably knew how to use it then. Then you say that some protocols have changed and you don't know what they are so you don't now. Surely, the torniquet you used to carry will still effectively stop blood flow if you used it? Is it better to bleed out, or have someone else bleed out, because some protocols have changed? I dunno man, that seems like a really really weak argument. It may be the the US is particularly litigious and this is what prevents you from potentially saving your own life or someone else's?
ОтветитьWhen I used to Marshall long distance trials motorcycles and cars I used a British army gas mask bag to carry flask and food like a gun fighter's holster rather than a backpack which I would have to take off my back unload by which time another competition would
Turn up
Aspirin has to be immediately accessible, it can be a lifesaver, speaking from experience 😊
ОтветитьIt’s. Ice to help others until the take advantage of your help and take everything from you. Always help but always make sure you ready to protect yourself
ОтветитьWhat is the little green pouch that you show in the first segment that you keep in your pocket, please? Thank you very much.
ОтветитьQuestion to the watchers. How often do you use a pocket knife and what do you use it for? I carry a Leatherman Squirt and have never seen the need for more than that. I put together a mini EDC similar to John Gadget’s that’s pretty cool. Curious about your experience.
ОтветитьI’ve watched this video three times. Shame I can’t give three thumbs up.
ОтветитьPeople have so vastly different needs when it comes to edc. And cultural differences are another factor. Like many americans comment things like ‚i just leave that in my truck‘ all the time because their truck is simply going wherever they go. I live in a city in Germany and I havent owned a car for 15 years now. I just don’t need it, it’s expensive and it takes up a lot of space in the city streets, there are already more than enough cars around.
I don’t know if you could categorize edc needs into two different categories: doing edc and thinking edc. I carried a leatherman wave and i just never need it. But I carry an a5 and a6 notebook and a fountain pen with me and i use them all day wherever i am. I also edc a small e-reader because I read a lot and I carry usually two sets of headphones or iems because I listen to things a lot of my day. And i use them as hearing protection, because I am very sensitive to light and loud noises, so shopping groceries without anything covering my ears is extremely stressful. Also i often carry a tiny sketchbook together with a waterbrush and water soluble graphite, because sometimes i love to make a quick sketch instead of taking a photo.
Carry what you need, not what other people teil you, be it flashlight and hatchet or be it an iPad and a mobile router.
❤
Hey there. What is the little pack you use for first aid?
ОтветитьDo you carry Metal glue?
ОтветитьOutstanding presentation mate 😎👍 Much more professional than my own YT effort 😁 Liked and subbed up today - Cheers from 🇦🇺
ОтветитьKIWIFOTOS cable card, cheap as chips multicable card, around 7$ and the c to c cable in the kit is 65w, ive used them for over 3 years and its incredible.
ОтветитьWonderful to hear you repeatedly talk about helping others. So much discussion about EDC assumes that everyone else is out to get you!
ОтветитьGreat advices
ОтветитьOver the years, my edc philosophy has become: "carry what expands on your body's abilities" for ecample, you can see, but not in the dark... so carry a flashlight. You can grab stuff, but muscles are weak at times, carry a multitool/pliers. Your fingernails can kinda cut tape, but not well, carry a knife. Etc etc.
ОтветитьOne tip, instead of two cables, have one and then an adapter!
ОтветитьGun always first , then knife ,first aide , flashlight ..4 basics
ОтветитьThats not a first aide kit lol ..its a bobo kit ..
ОтветитьBro you talk waytyyyyyyy too much. Just show the kit for the love of god!!!
ОтветитьVery Informative. Thank You for taking the time to make this video.
ОтветитьCarry the tourny if you have any knowledge. Way more important to have and perhaps do wrong then have someone bleed out that you could have saved.
ОтветитьI wish I needed half of these tools, I would love to have a reason to carry a cool knife and I barely ever need tools
ОтветитьOn the tools side of things I upgraded my edc bag to something larger and started carrying a small vise grip and small adjustable wrench. You wouldn’t believe how much it comes in handy. Added a bit driver and a full complement of bits and there isn’t much I haven’t been able to get done.
ОтветитьBetter to have a tq and not know how to use it than not have one and not know how to use it
Ответитьdamn, americans really be living in a wild where they need knives and tools to survive xD
ОтветитьI carry a trauma kit In my EDC because if I need it I really need it
ОтветитьThe most underrated EDC first aid item is Benadryl. Learning you have a new anaphylactic allergy while you're away from emergency services doesn't sound like a good time.
ОтветитьI enjoy seeing useful practical EDC kits or whatever someone might carry on them.
I also like seeing the high dollar, high end shiny stuff that’s either themed by color or materials, that you can tell it’s never used.
I do lean more towards the practical just because I like seeing stuff that’s clever and a great idea that I could add, or it makes me think about the stuff I carry, if I really need to be carrying a certain item or not.
I love seeing other people’s ideas and experiences.
That Pilot G-2 pen immediately let me know that I am watching a distinguished gentleman with some class.
