Love this!! I'm the exact same with Auduobooks & physical copies. I have to be "reading along" with the narrator! 😂😀💜📚💜👍 I love that Japanese edition of HP! So cool. Happy Saturday!!
ОтветитьLove this! I have the same voice that say no lol! 😂
ОтветитьI can definitely relate to reading books that are assigned. In high school, I struggled in my English classes because sometimes the books were not that interesting. However, it was in freshman year, when I fell in love with Jane Austen, when we read Pride and Prejudice. The BBC TV series 1995 adaptation is by far my favorite 💕
ОтветитьI just picked up all American boys from your recommendation. I will be reading very soon. Majority of my books come from the library.
ОтветитьYay, these videos are awesome! One of the things Barnes and Noble will do (or at least, one I go to often) is have 'Blind Date with a Book' where they wrap a book up and list certain things on the wrapping to help entice the reader.
ОтветитьWe of Booktube have a few book clubs over on Goodreads. I know it isn't everyone sitting around munching on a cheese ball and gossiping between chapter talks but...we have a lot of fun with the live chats and all that. If you decide to make your own online/booktube/goodreads book club I would totally join! :P
ОтветитьI also don’t like breaking the spines of books. I love the covers of some UK paperbacks BUT sometimes they are so stiff it’s not worth it.
I now prep my hardback spines for use. I watched a video about prepping stiff hardback spines so they become flexible. They will age well and last longer that way.
I love that Hufflepuff scarf....💛
ОтветитьI hated being forced to read books in school too! We were forced to read books in class that nobody really liked. (With the exception of a few-like Anne Frank.) I was a never a fan of Beowulf or The Scarlet Letter. 😜
ОтветитьOoooh, that Japanese edn of HP looks amazing! Do you think you will ever re-read it? And shocking - I never knew you had a tattoo! :)
ОтветитьI hate breaking the spine too!!! I HATE
ОтветитьSo glad that I'm not the only one who will carry on reading a book I don't enjoy until the end! So many of my friends find it bizarre, but I'm just one of these people that I feel the need to finish it even if it's a let down.
ОтветитьHave you read, The Art of Racing in the Rain? I loved it but one of the few books that made me ball my eyes out.
ОтветитьWe are the same about assigned reading. Great video! Loved learning more about you ❤️
ОтветитьGreat facts... I would love to actually attend a book club but sadly not able to.
ОтветитьI also feel the need to finish a book that I'm not totally into. Once I start something I have to finish it. I have a few that are on my shelf that will take longer to read, but I do plan to finish it. Love your hair :)
ОтветитьIf you want to start a Book Club reading a book a month, I'd definitely join. Would be lots of fun. ;)
ОтветитьThanks for sharing! =) I have been leaning towards hardbacks more and more the last several years, in huge part because of the quick wear on the mass media paperback spines. We have the first 5 GoT books in paperback and they’re falling apart after me reading them once and my husband twice. (I fear for my Mistborn paperbacks he’s just started!)
ОтветитьI belonged to a book club for a few years and I felt like it was assigned reading which I hate also!
ОтветитьWe are so similar Cori!!!!! I cannot read an assigned book for ANYthing my brain just refuses
ОтветитьOh my God.....I had to read Where the Red Fern Grows when I was in elementary school and it traumatized me. I could never read that again.
I was a Pottermore Beta tester too!!
I also read the GOT series (before it was a show) and never watched it. But I'm mad that he contributed to the continuation of the show but still hasn't finished the last 2 books. Now I have re-read them all from the beginning to remember everything thats happened once he finishes them.
ОтветитьMy favorite local book store is well known for their great staff, books and author events. But they are also well known for their bathroom. When they host an author they sign a photo and it gets hung in the bathroom. Some have written funny jokes about hoping they aren’t near the toilet.
ОтветитьI also find it hard to not finish books, I just feel like I need to know how it ends! :)
ОтветитьI love finding random books, that I know nothing about. Still need to to read great expectations, loved this! 😄
ОтветитьI don't like reading assigned books either! I've always loved reading, but in high school and college when I was supposed to read something it was like the end of the world and I struggled to finish things. I distinctly remember one of the few exceptions was Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I read it ahead of schedule for my English class in 10th grade and got to take some of the quizzes early xD
ОтветитьI organize my shelves the same way. I work at a used book store and it drives me nuts because the books are all organized alphabetically by authors last name and then alphabetically by title. But that’s how the owner wants it so I can’t fix it
ОтветитьThe second fact is so me
ОтветитьThe audiobook fact is what I do also. I usually read/listen to books/audiobooks when I tried to read the book once and could go through it. It also happens when the book is pretty big and has small fonts, usually, I do it with genres that I am afraid that I will never go through, but always I will follow with the physical book.
ОтветитьLove your video and actually share many of your facts!! Now.. you ARE part of one of the most amazing book club, the Owlcrate one!!! Thanks for all your work!
ОтветитьWhere the Red Fern grows made me cry too. It was one of the few.
