Yeah! I’m really enjoying the frequent chats 😊
ОтветитьHandbag or Felco? Of course the FELCO !!!!!!!!!
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьI had a brain storm when you mentioned the newspaper pot maker. Can you make bottomless pots with those things? The thought that popped in my head was if you could start your parsnips or carrots in bottomless pots. Then, transplant the whole pot to the garden when the plants got big enough. You wouldn't be disturbing the roots, you would get the spacing 'right' and not waste seeds or plants. Then I thought about the loo roll tubes that you planted your corn in. Would those work? Have you tried any of that?
Okay, enough wild thoughts. I need to go bake a cake for the daughter, chocolate, of course.
Brilliant information. I would also like to mention that Felco number 7 is unbeatable for anyone suffering from osteoarthritis or other hand debilitating condition.👍✅
ОтветитьWhat do you use on the paths to keep them up. Some sort of shovel I'm thinking.
ОтветитьA useful and comprehensive list Vivi. I also have a first aid kit, with an eye bath, surgical pads and chlorphenamine. I'm saving for a pair of Felco's; got to be better than the ones I have now. BTW loving your top with its snazzy buttonage! Dx
Ответитьsmashing video vivi
ОтветитьYet again you cheer me up
Soooo much. I'm going to make me some of those string line things ready for next year x
Borrowed a soil blocker this year Vivi .Absolutely fantastic ,no pots needed, plants did super and were so easy to transplant in to the beds or in to larger containers.
ОтветитьI wouldn’t give up my wheel barrow, it’s the best thing for hauling heavy loads and saves your back. Another must have tool is a dutch hoe for weeding. Amazing how much stuff we can jam into our sheds isn’t it! Hugs💗
ОтветитьBrilliant, thanks Vivi x
ОтветитьHawes is a good company. I've got a pair of their thornproof gauntlets. They go right up to my elbows and have helped me cut down an out-of-control pyracantha amongst other things. Very expensive but worth every penny. I've been looking on Freecycle for ages for some blue water pipe to make my own hoops, but no luck so far. I happened to mention this to a friend recently who said she had had a whole roll of the stuff in her garden for months and had given it away only days before. Aargh!
ОтветитьI have a small tools,a small spade for weeding and a small forked tool
ОтветитьGood video 👩🌾
ОтветитьIt’s a small trowel I have
ОтветитьI also have a very small rake and spade for pot plants,I used the small rake for seeds going into the ground
ОтветитьI’m really enjoying these two videos Vivi 💚😘 such fantastic suggestions xx
ОтветитьA tetanus injection from working in the soil or if a thorn went into your finger.
ОтветитьAnd gloves not the flimsy women’s garden gloves oh no you need the thick leather mens working gloves. You will have to get medium size be cause they don’t make small. Mens gloves. So I live in california with black widow spiders and too many pokey plants to list. Gloves worth it.
ОтветитьAnother bril video Vivi, thank you. Food for thought. Got most of it but have got Hori Hori envy😃😻🙏❤️
ОтветитьVery helpful! Thank you, Vivi!!!
ОтветитьHiya Vivi. Agree great gift options. Blessings Luv Ontario Canada Thankyou 🐝
ОтветитьLaughed out loud at the "Garden is an anagram of Danger!" 😂 Excellent and comprehensive list, Vivi! Thank you!
ОтветитьI would love to have a Haw's watering can too. But that's not in my budget at the moment. So I'll save a little longer and then I can see.
ОтветитьGreat vid with plant markers I make mine from old blinds and plastic milk cartons cut to size and shape round one end and v shape the other end also Marge tubs cut down iv use stones bits of slate made t shape wooden ones and t shape from plastic milk cartons ect.
Like you said use what's available save money Nd stops so much going to landfill.
Just love these last two videos Vivi very informative and helpful. Must remember to get some garden fleece for me Agapanthus !
ОтветитьI remember first seeing you in 2017 I was an absolute "Virgin" in veg gardening and watching you and see what you used ..today either getting for free, improvising and purchasing, but most of all being gifted I now have all you talked about Thank You Vivi what an encouragement you have been..especially in the repurposing department and respecting our environment..and thanks for introducing me to Richard and Paul they are as needed as any of our valuables you included❣🌹🤗
ОтветитьThank you Vivi! The only thing you didn't mention was gloves, there are so many to choose from, any recommendations?
ОтветитьHave tools - will garden! Thx Vivi all you need is in your upload! God Bless and stay safe and garden on! XxxX
ОтветитьAnother gardener I watch says the best thing a gardener can be is IN the garden. Have at least one chair/stool to really spend time among your growing things. Lovely video, Vivi, that is so helpful. Thank you!
ОтветитьI couldn't live without my wheelbarrows as i use them so much in my garden. When i get my grocery order delivered i use them to put my shopping in which is really useful as since covid i don't like people coming indoors. Loving the garden tools videos as they are so interesting.
ОтветитьWheelbarrows, yes I have several, builders metal barrow with puncture proof wheel, unfortunately the paint flaked off in the wind within a week! £5 more for same capacity and interchangeable wheels, no flaking paint, are plastic ones! I use mine for mixing composts, transporting mulch etc, anywhere you don't want more nonbio stuff in your soil. They come in non-builer colours, pink and lavender! They are returned if borrowed! I use mine like Vivi uses trugs, for weeds, for stones and rubble, for mixing and transporting plants in pots.
I've been lent a 4 wheeled truck which sounds useful as it keeps a level base, however I have a sloping site and it has no brakes, it steers from the handle end and is rubbish when pushed. It has taken chunks out of my ankles. Going uphill, the handle is too short and the steering wheels come off the ground, the contents slide to the back and the tipping continues, depositing the contents on the ground! Argh!
I don't just grow veg, I have a 50 yard lane for vehicles, the stones, 3 inch and more, dug from my soil, goes to fill potholes. I have Hawthorne hedges, which need managing, laying etc, hence the several wheelbarrows.
Another thought provoking video, Vivi.
Hi viv very interesting thank you lv Irene 😘 xx
ОтветитьI bought a wheelbarrow as the car park is a bit of a trek to my plot. Free woodchips and compost etc is delivered to the car park so it just made my life easier. Of course, I bought a bright yellow one (I actually used some birthday money!) so everyone knows it's mine and it doesn't go for a 'walk' LOL!
ОтветитьThanks again for Part 1 and 2 Vivi. I've made my Christmas list- just as my gang said we aren't doing pressies this year! I'm delighted though- because now I can save the cash I would spend on them and spend on exactly what I want for myself now! No having to return unwanted stuff to the stores!
ОтветитьOh I really need to invest In a trug I use a old washing up bowl 😂 ( I have few saved) aww that little trug with the garlic in the little terracotta clay pot sweet 🥰 I’ve cumulated 5 compost bins over 10 years on my site lol looks like something out of doctor who 🤣 we are now allowed polly tunnels on our site that’s my shed/storage 😊
ОтветитьPerfect! 👍🏼😉💗💗💗
ОтветитьAnother lovely 30 mins... loving those terracotta pots from Teapot. 🤗
ОтветитьGreat vblog ! Thanks.
