In my experience for a GSD to thrive it needs 2 sniff walks a day, one in a big area where you run the legs off them and a further half hour of play round the house EG hiding things or yourself. An extra long sniff walk at the weekend is also good. I used to take mine to some dog friendly woods that were half an hour away by car or down by the river which was ten minutes to get into the countryside. If you do it right the dog will just want to sleep on you while you relax watching a film etc. I used to get mine well and truly conked out by about 8pm.
ОтветитьNever had a problem with em until my sister got this psychopath Kentucky female.
ОтветитьThere is truth in this video but it's not all that dark. I have a working line, i keep him outside in cage, he is not vocal or anything, you just have to make plan to teach him routine. I have never went out with him and be like im gona train him or teach him. He learned much things just on his growing up way in some situations I needed him to stay or wait and walk beside leg. Just walk him and feed him at the same time every day and go out walk him around other people and animals when he is young. Smart dog he doesnt make any problems and he learns from situations.
ОтветитьOur GSD is 10 myths old. He is a land shark! He is too much for me.
ОтветитьI bought a GSD dog and I never had a dog before, it’s so easy to train her lol
Ответитьi have a presa canario x gsd....shes defo a handful 😂
ОтветитьThe reason they can't handle German Shepherds as they don't teach them who's the Boss
ОтветитьI'm on my 5th GSD. I have never had a problem with them because I'm the boss.
One thing I learnt was that if you have a rule, you must never waver. The minute you relax a rule it's over - they know it's negotiable.l and will never respect it again.
The only one that was hard work in the beginning was my 4th one.
I bought him aged 6 months from a breeder @1/2 price when found him impossible to deal with. They had kept him to breed with because he was the pick of the litter
He was getting into fights with all the adult dogs and had a confrontation with the helper.
Really he was just so boisterous and completely fearless. In the beginning he would draw blood when I played with him.
I would just refuse to play and then shun him for an hour or so. He very quickly learnt that hurting me was a no no and was more careful.
Turned out to be the very best dog I've had.
He lived to 15. I still talk about him 8 years later.
I had one before. Great dog. You have to remember you have to be the alpha wolf. You can't beg it to behave.
ОтветитьI've had two. I wouldn't have any other breed. They are not that hard.
ОтветитьWith their intelligence, they are easily handled with training and love. As with any dog it is how they are raised.
ОтветитьWe have a shepherd and he is the lasiest dog in the world
ОтветитьExcellent video! Conside. Informative. Accurate. And, well photographed too!
ОтветитьI want one 😫 😍
ОтветитьShow line and work line GSD are two totally different animals, not really the same breed at all. It is amazing that this is not made clear right at the start in videos like this. Most likely the people who make these clips do not even know it, just make these blahblah videos to get views. Most points here are about workline dogs, but videos mostly are of show line ones.
ОтветитьNot thet hard but you need be alpha like wolf need be alpha
ОтветитьI work full-time 5days a week. I am eager to have one and spend time with it as much as I can. Morning and afternoon walks, weekend trips etc. Do you think it is enough time for a GS?
ОтветитьI miss my boy so much!
ОтветитьAfter watching komissar Rex I am afraid my own GS dog may arrest me !.
ОтветитьMy GSD was a rescue as a puppy and while he may not have grown up to be the brightest his heart is, almost, always in the right place when he ain’t so hyped up that he slams his face into the wall and instantly forgets that it even happened 😂❤

ОтветитьAs a dog trainer for 42 + yrs I say the biggest reason most people can't handle G Shepherds or LG smart dogs is because they are irresponsible and uneducated. You have to know the history of the dog and be prepared to take on the challenges of what it takes to handle these majestic creatures.
ОтветитьToo many people don't think twice before getting a German Shepherd and they end up in animal shelters. It's criminal. I still love my German Shepherd deep in my heart, though he is gone now. If I could choose only one dog of the four I've owned in my whole life ( in my 70's now) I would choose him in a heartbeat.
ОтветитьHE means just dont work and stay at home with GSD thats it

ОтветитьI am getting the opportunity to take care of a GSD in a month for 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to it. I used to do dog fostering for Samoyeds and Huskies. My cousins had GSDs, and I'm a good trainer, they recently received the dog. I think I'll do well. I just adore dogs. I hope the dog is happy with me! I'm nice!!!

ОтветитьWhat perfect timing hard to handle wow that was incredible this is a big time inside joke onto my own life your head is perfect at perfect timing thank you so much beautiful dog I'm sure this is it awesome video
ОтветитьElwin Manor
ОтветитьRashad Square
ОтветитьI disagree
..have had plentu of them over 70 years. Never had one that i had a problem with. You just need to make sure they know who is the alpha once you do that you have the best loyal dog you could ever want. Just make sure they realize they are part of the family
finally a video explaining that GSDs are not for everybody, never mind first time owners!!! best dogs in the world as long as you know what you’re doing! never had a dog? start with a smaller, less demanding breed
ОтветитьI have a 4 year old male and he doesn’t care for outside animals that’s not a part of the household. He will go after it. 😮
ОтветитьI love my GSD, I just hope she stops chasing my cats and chickens
ОтветитьGSD are herding dogs. Not working dogs
ОтветитьI jus lost my 7 yo male 😞
Wish I could cry this pain away
♥️🩸
I've been a dog behaviorist and trainer for 40 years. I've owned 4 GSD along with other breeds and can say that most of these reasons can be said about all breeds of dogs. But yes.... The German Shepherd is not for just anyone. And if you are going to get a GSD, make sure you go to a proven, top breeder. Research pedigrees and decide what kind of GSD you want. High energy? Lower energy? Dominant? Passive? Long coat? There are several different strains.
Ответитьspeaking about assigning tasks, is barking at postman enough workload?
ОтветитьNothing but BIG BABY GOOF BALLS....🐕🐕🐕👍🏼
ОтветитьPrey drive? They are shepherds not hunters. I've had them for 27 years, and prey drive was never an issue.
ОтветитьMy GSD was my son for 13.5 years. He left me 5 month ago. The pain is just too much to bring another dog to my life 😭
Ответитьmy boy live for 14 years. gsd is just a big pussy if they are trained.
ОтветитьI’d l’like a GS; at present I have a Golden Retriever. He’s so well behaved! Can I ask you out there: are the behaviours of the two breeds much different?
