Trump is an absolute pathological liar and proving to be a menace to the entire world. Democracies around the world need to take notice (I’m sure they are) as this is going to be a rocky number of years ahead. As a Canadian I watch with great concern given Trumps declared a strong interest in making Canada the 51st state. Could never imagine seeing this situation in my life time - in fact I never imagined it.

I am worried about US normalizing relationships with Russia again. Doing so only validates Putin's aggressive behavior and encourages other nations like China to use similar military actions to enforce their claims on Taiwan and other territories. Furthermore, once Trump and his administration are finally faced with the reality that America cannot survive in a vacuum, there is a good chance its old allies won't take them back. At that point America might end up striking alliances with nations like Russia and China, pushing them further away from democratic values.

Why havn't any European countries promoted peace talks? Why is it up to the US to protect Europe? Putting judment and feelings aside, Europe hasn't been doing enough to protect itself and end the war. They're all talk, no actions.

The only deal I see Ukraine accepting is one negotiated between Ukraine, Europe, Russia, and maybe some other fourth party to mediate. I can't see Ukraine accepting a deal they never got a say in.

We already knew that. Ukraine could have stayed out of NATO and enjoyed peace, economic growth and very cheap gas, oil and electricity. Russia will never allow a neighbouring 40+ million country to be in NATO. As the US would never allow Canada, Mexico or Cuba to be in a russian military alliance. DO NOT demand what you are not able to give. End of story.

End of the day, unless we and the rest of Europe are willing to decouple from America and stop simping on them, we just need to do as we're told. I don't understand why so many Europeans cry when America does something they don't like but then they tow the line anyway. Even most Ukrainians have left the country. They want thier land but aren't willing to die for it. Grow a pair people.
