I found you and the game pretty entertaining!
One hour extremely well spent! thanks man!
You know, Shadowrun from SNES must have got some inspiration on this one.
FYI you CAN give the cup back to the barkeep! You just have to ask the monk to give the cup back after the resurrection. So Chuck is actually a swell guy if you want him to be! He apologizes and everything to the barkeep.
This game has more nooks and crannies than I think we realize. I only just discovered this about the cup because of this video lol.
BONUS tip: In the beginning the old guy asks you to ask Ivan for money. You get a whole sack of coins.
You gotta be a little adventerous with the dialog system in this game. If you actually embrace it, it's pretty fun. Don't skim through dialog in this game.
There is a series called Reckoners where the entire premise is a group of people who assassinate supervillains, and part of it is trying to figure out a clever way to exploit their weakness to kill them.
ОтветитьI honestly don't blame tree-man. If some random guy I just met burnt me alive after a vampire turned me into a tree because of him, and brought me back... Yeah, I'd still be pissed for a while! In the words of Futurama: "Fire hot"!
ОтветитьP.S. Last night we learned something: you CAN return the goblet to the barkeep:
Talk to the monk, type "cup" or "goblet".
He will get mad, then compose himself after a little chat, and say you can have it back after another donation of 3 silver.
We did that, and gave the cup back to the barkeep. We'll see if this screws us later.
So the game is set in Romania, but the monastery looks Roman Catholic rather than Orthodox. I guess that makes sence since the game was probably made in America, and in '93, and Orthodoxy is a lesser known thing there even now so... They would probably think eastern Europe was Catholic, since they wouldn't know any better.
ОтветитьThis is top 10 game dungeon
ОтветитьI can't man, i just can't, ever since i discovered you were rhe creator of Freemans mind, I've been watching your game videos, but it's like Frerman reviewing them and i can't get that image out of my head 😭.
ОтветитьI get hating parsley, but saying only murderers grow it is a bit much
ОтветитьDear game developers - if you include elements that will never be important, and specifically say they will never be important, either just drop them out completely or just make them non-interactable (unless you really, really need to sell vibe of hoplesness)
Ответить"Cutting off the head works 99% of the time!"
The other 1% is Alucard from Hellsing.
Love the peter Lorre voice. I di one too and nobody ever recognizes it
ОтветитьThanks for these series
ОтветитьDid you really think that ball was a yoyo?
ОтветитьGetting this to 1 million on my own.
Ответить4 years on and this is still one of my most watched comfort-videos. Way to go Ross, you nailed the replayability factor with this one.
Ответить"He says please don't steal anything... I wonder what that means?" lol
ОтветитьI like the proto-ragdoll physics ❤️
ОтветитьAnyone else just think this is the most replayable Game Dungeon? I sure do, so does the algorithm.
Every few months or so I just turn this on when I’m doing chores or things that don’t require too much thought and just listen to Ross explaining this complicated and engaging game. I’d hate to play this at the time but this is just so digestible.
1 million views now woohoo!
ОтветитьWhy is there a voodoo lady in 30s romania
ОтветитьThe Dune soundtrack shows the potential of the Adlib. Any time it sounds bad it's the developer's fault.
ОтветитьWait which village?
Oh the other village not the witch village ok got it..
For future watchers, the unrated game was Phastasmogia 2. Try to find the review elsewhere. It was excellent.
ОтветитьAdlib rules imho. It’s the best.
ОтветитьRIP Phantasmagoria 2 review (it would have been next on the playlist)
ОтветитьIve realized that the plot of this game may just be someones Ravenloft campaign.
ОтветитьIt was supposed to be a secret?
ОтветитьWhat the hell kind of assumption is "metal beast". 🤪
He has "Never heard of an airplane" but I guess he's seen beasts made of metal before? Also, I guess the usual beasts (metal or otherwise) that he sees also have people emerging from their wreckages? He knows what a wreckage is, but would sooner assume it was a metal beast, than think it some new locomotive he has never seen before.
To me that would imply he can't assume it's a flying locomotive because he doesn't even know what a locomotive is?!
There seem to be electrically powered lamps present in the room. Do they have electricity and don't know what a locomotive is? Maybe magic light bulbs?
I think at best I'd might think it a "metal puppet" if I was a fantasy person who couldn't comprehend a flying locomotive/machine, but witnessed a man emerge from its insides.
Don't mind me I just like deep-diving into little things some times! 😁
Awesome video, love how sociopathic Chuck comes across throughout the game. Learns of a guy's obsession with a cup, proceeds to steal it. Gets asked to free a man turned tree to free him of the spiders crawling around inside him, proceeds to set him on fire, watching him burn while screaming in agony without even reacting.
Just one thing:
Not to excuse avatars writing but I think the scene with the arrow breaking the glass does make some sense if you think about the physics of it.
I the first encounter both the archers and their target were stationary, causing he arrows to harmless ly bounce off the reinforced glass.
I'm the second part not only is the helicopter thing moving, but the archers mounted on dragons are dive bombing, adding their speed to the arrow being launched, and given how the arrow was growing at a higher speed and a different angle I suppose it shouldn't be impossible for it to penetrate.
It's hard to decide whether I like this one or the Phantasmagoria Game Dungeon (adventure episode) the most. I pick Veil of Darkness because this one is more well-rounded and the plot is easy to follow.
ОтветитьAs far as the arrows working in Avatar, the best I can think of is that the archer diving toward the small helicopter gave the arrow more speed than the arrows being fired from stationary ground forces against a larger warship.
Regardless, I'm glad I finally sat down to watch this one. I was hesitant 'cus I thought I might play it for myself some day, but the combat causing age / weakness / poison issues - as well as some of the obtuse puzzles you mentioned - vindicates my decision to just watch your review.
>half the problems can be traced back to vampires and this really nails it
"they" I must say. truly an orange juice moment.
The roland music machine thing really f'ed me up
ОтветитьI have seen this so many times by now, it never gets old
ОтветитьI come back to watch this periodically just for the ending segment. Everything about it is just pitch perfect.
Ответить1930 was a quite good guess
ОтветитьFeels like Curse of Strahd xD
ОтветитьI find myself coming back to this GD in particular most.
ОтветитьI’ve watched this like, 10 times. How did I not “like” it until now?
ОтветитьWhy is it comedy gold every time Ross does the voice for that boy with the yo-yo
ОтветитьLove how everyone watching this video has universally accepted the protagonist's name as Chuck
