That Wigan side is stacked....no wonder they won so many titles.

This was a sad time for British RL. Total dominance on the pitch and financially by Wigan. Whenever a decent player came along, he was poached by Wigan...Billy McGinty, Offiah etc. Thank god we have more level playing field these days, even Wigan fans got bored with winning everything.

Remember watching Preston at Thrum Hall. He was so quick.

Mark Preston was a flyer. I dont think there was much between him and Offiah. Id of loved to of seen a foot race between them.

Shaun Edwards got his cheekbone and eye socket smashed in a high tackle by Bob Jackson the Warrington 2nd row in the first 10 mins of this game. He stayed on until there was only 5mins left. A hard game and a tough player to do that.

Considering the claims wigan funded the dominant team of this era there is a substantial local talent in this side. Both Iro and Bell were relatively unknown imports. Of course the jewel in the crown was Ellery Hanley. Mike Gregory was brilliant against his home town and it is a shame he never got to wear the cherry and white.

Don't fuck with Desey Iro. Desey, Desey, knock i'm out out, Desey knock i'm out. Not as good as when he put Offiah down though. Good times, not like todays soft game.

The only thing wrong there is the commentator saying Iro started it with the thrown ball. Drummond comes in and lays an elbow to the back of his head, which is why he threw the ball....
