Harley Benton Rips Off Fender - AGAIN - Gear News

I own a Fender Mustang Micro. I love it. I own three other micro plug-in headphone amps. The Fender is way better. But it is also three times the price. My opinion is that I am really happy that Harley Benton is offering cheaper amps to compete with the Fender Mustang Micro. I think this will help a lot of guitar players enjoy more music. No, I don't care if they copied them. That's how the free market reduces prices while increasing product quality. It is a feature, not a bug. Let's see how Fender will respond? Better amp? Price cut? Either way, the consumer wins. What I don't want is the government to step in and prevent Harley Benton from doing what they are doing. The government getting in bed with big corporations is literally fascism.

Very selective this criticism of HB. Why not have a go at Suhr and all the other high end Tele, Strat, Les Paul and ES335 copiers?

Although they look similar and do the same kinda thing, I see a few differences with the Fender and HB headphone Amp, the buttons are different so not an exact physical copy and the Fender has 12 Amp Models and 12 Effects, the HB has 14 taken from its own brand multi FX Amp modeller, Fender battery playing time 4 hours, HB 5 hours. Plus the biggie they will sound very different. I would like to think the Fender is better quality but I suspect not, however I won’t be buying either I already have a NUX which is incredible.

China will always steal from China. Reason why companies clone is because they dont need to do any designing of a product or come up with cool and new ideas when they can easily just buy a product, break it down and clone it. Some companies (like Fender) will hire a Chinese company to build a particular product, Once that product and deal is complete, That manufacturing company will steal and sell that same idea to another Chinese company. They do it all the time.

This same company changes names all the time: Flamma, Harley Benton, ... a generic knock-off of MANY items. . .

I'm going to stop buying generic Viagra too.

Someone who is a PRO or can EASILY afford the fender micro along with thousands of dollars of gear this hobby requires is probably not even going to consider the HB. But the thousands of weekend players who are can't afford all the name brand gear, that's who it's for. Hobbyists and it makes the whole community bigger and stronger. Someone a limited disposable outcome can buy a Harley Benton and still have money to buy a JHS pedal along with a little fender amp. Maybe that same person likes to practice at night in their one-bedroom apartment and added to that budget is a microamp by Holly Benton.
It's a crazy expensive and addictive hobby, I make no money from it. But yet I still want to be part of the conversation.

People hating on Harley Benton should get off their high horse. Not everyone earns american salaries to afford the ripoff prices companies like Fender, Gibson or PRS are charging because of "brand". This Harley Benton headphones amp costs less than half what the Fender one costs and it`s probably made on the same production line in China. These sort of double standards are very obnoxious. Everyone is copying everyone but we`re hating on the music store brand that doesn`t copleatly rips off its customers for some reason. It`s not like Fender invented the headphones amp. I was playing on a VOX amplug almost 20 years ago. Why aren`t you hating on PRS then for ripping off Fender? Is it because they`re charging $3000 for their ripoff? Or on Fender for riping off Les Paul with theur Troublemaker guitars? Harley Benton is great for what it is. It offers an afordable option to get more people into the hobby at a decent quality, something the big "brands" don`t do anymore.

Klipsch used to make skinny speakers I thought were genius. They were a 2 inch x 4 foot'x2 foot panels of mylar with a wire zigzagging through it. Loudest speakers I ever heard. Where was the alleged Harley Benton Rips Off Fender section?

I wanted a 335 but wasn't 100% I noticed HB had a knock off. I figured it would give me a similar feel to the 335. I could buy the HB and if I hated it I wouldn't feel bad if it sat in the corner. If I liked it I will buy the Gibson. I was floored at how good the HB was. I love it and don't care about the 335 anymore.

he must have been so annoyed with the Harley Benton thing that he had to put it in his title...not because it might be trending and would create lots of traction for his channel while he's talking about HB customers with a slightly condescending smirk, no, he could have put something else in the title but he sacrificed his channel using the bad word....btw, I know he doesn't watch other channels for it might influence his own opinions on things (and yet he did),,,,but regarding the work environment in the production facilities (which I know nothing about), Henning (Eytschpi42) talked about what he personally knows from the CEO of Harley Benton and some people at Thomann, perhaps. Now I should probably stop typing in a language that clearly ripped off some other language which developed from yet another language ? oh man, so many ripp-offs these days....I hope this long comment will boost his little video here. Having said that, the way Thomann treated / irgnored Phil McKnight after he pointed out some defects, was a rather shitty thing (whether that was just bad customer service or saving costs on the re-shipping etc)

Fender ripped off NUX and the NUX mighty plug is still ahead technologically and functionally.

Bought my first magneplanar speakers in 1975.----- AC supply power isolation is critical for safety. The conventional iron core with primary and secondary is safe. I'm curious to see how the designers guarantee safety for the user. Obviously they have. Patents are to prevent, or at least mitigate stealing and benefiting from someone else's work. No patent inforce, no protection. I support the common guy; so does Harley Benton. Thank you for your channel.

Does HB pay it child labor less in China than Fender does to produce the same product thus causing Fender to charge more to save the children. Ya nooo they just put more in their corporate pocket at the expense of child labor.

As for cheep guitars you get what you pay for if you look what a gibson sold fore in 50 60 70 's it not cheep just like now adjusted for inflation its about the same as for paying for a name well yes its a gibson some are better than others but thats up to YOU knowing what the hell YOURE looking at im 69 and have worked hard tp pay for the 9 guitars i have it takes years but i got what i paid for

Hey Dylan.......you and I kinda had a nasty disagreement recently over this subject " you're busy and probably don't remember" anyway I watched this episode again and yeah I had a change of heart on it....yeah you are right it doesn't make any sense to just blatantly steal from another company especially a company as big as H.B. I looked at it as a cheaper solution for us who can't afford the real deal, but yeah that is just a ridiculous way to look at it..... I'm subscribed bud no hard feelings I hope. Oh and I don't own any Harley Benton anything never have.... I had my guitars and amps stolen during lockdown so any option looks good ya know, but I won't go that option Dylan cause you're right brother it's wrong. I missed your channel bud✌️

People like you will never understand the joy of a young boy who can not afford a ridiculously priced guitar being able to afford one just like the one he wants, same quality or almost the same quality but at a very affordable price, that is what Harley Benton is doing, offering everyone a chance at becoming whatever they wanna be in terms of instrument mastery and much more. That boy that couldn't afford a real Fender, that boy that looked at those Fender photos online and just gave up cause he couldn't afford them, that boy was once me, i however wasn't in on Harley Benton early enough so i ended up getting an Ibanez, but nevertheless, i hate the fact that i was lied to by this godlike adoration of fender products all my life when there were so many others opening their doors to people like us, if i sound like i'm angry my bad, but looking back to the time prior of having my own guitar, i used to hurt inside, man i used to go to church everyday evening to help out with some stuff just to get to play the bass for a few minutes, anyway,.....i digress, i just never grew fond of Fender and unfortunately i'll never grow fond of that company cause when others can do a much better job than them but not get all capitalist greedy on us everything becomes apparent.
So i get it, you don't support it and it's all good, to each their own, but oh boy, those guys are booming in business and i can only wish them the best from here onwards

I think Harley Benton copying a similar layout to the Mustang Micro is fine, especially since the actual software creating the tones are their own from their multi-effects pedals. I know US case law in the past has ruled in favor of not copyrighting things like computer menu layout, since they are more determined by necessity than creativity. Also, if Harley Benton is ripping off Fender, then arguably Fender is ripping off NuX by copying their plug design and replacing app support with side buttons.

Probably Thomann is at this point big enough that a major manufacturer like Fender is not going to lock horns with them over blatant plagiarism. They seem to have an enormous market power being the manufacturer and retailer in one. I don’t like this from the standpoint of where capitalism is headed. I’m all for free market, yes. But how free is a market which is severely dominated by just a handful of mega-sized players?

As far as Harley Benton goes whether it's the little Mustang headphone thing or whatever if It's cheaper if it's cheaper for us to buy then why care? There are so many Strat copies and rip-offs then why can't we save money if we can get a decent product cheaper? I have been looking at some of these Harley bentons since I saw their latest telecaster 52 tribute or vintage or whatever they call it and if you've seen one of these things they look like a piece of furniture. As far as what they sound like I cannot tell you first hand but I would probably go to you for pickups since as you have at also agreed most classic vibe telly pickups suck? And as far as what I've heard is that these Roswell, very strange name, maybe it means something in German I don't know, but whenever I see a review people say they sound fine. I don't know but I wish you would review one of their telecasters or Stratocasters and let us know what you really think aside from the fact that they might be copies or rip offs . I know you tell it like it is so that's the only reason I would care to hear what you have to say.

You know if Harley benton is able to make the exact copy of something for the fraction of the price than why do the name brands have to make such a big profit? We are tired of getting ripped off . So if name brand can rip us off why can't Harley benton rip them off ?

Harley Benton DNAfx GiT Mobile II just came out this month. I guess Harley Benton cares about offering quality at a good price. Fender hasn't upgraded the micro but HB makes improvements where they can. Don't hate them because they have a market that's not you!

Fender have been over pricing guitars and amps forever. Then HB comes in sells a copy at a rock bottom price, and quality and feel is pretty much spot on with fender. Wich makes me feel grateful for HB..

Your pickups are technically knockoffs of every others companys pickup designs....

I have noticed that the only people that have a problem with Harley Benton are people who are making money off us guitarists by making massive profits on so called better guitars. They, (Dylan) see the handwriting on the wall. The days of someone shelling out thousands of dollars for a guitar are nearing an end. Imports from China, Korea and indonesia are nearly as good as Gibsons or Fenders when you get one. You can replace some hardware, electronics and pickups and have as good of a guitar as say a Gibson SG or Les Paul for a quarter of the money after mods. It’s always the same guitar influencers. I have a modded HB LP that I put Iron gear pups in swapped the nut, pots and capacitors and it is a better playing and sounding guitar than my 2016 Gibson LP Standard

Dear gear-snobs, stop worrying about clones. People will always pay extra for an authentic original, clone brands can only charge clone prices.

Harley Bentons mainly need to be modded if you are a serious guitarist , still costs a quarter of the price, also Fenders players and standards are crap these days.Levis jeans, way over priced, other cheaper jeans are just as good looking, im not complaining about the cheaper price.

Funny, people feel HB ripping off Fender or Gibson, but don't feel that Fender and Gibson ripping off people. 😂
