Nature’s palette! I was staring at my computer trying to figure out what gouache paint to get, I’ve never used it before so I was unsure how to build a palette. I suddenly thought, I bet Kriksis has a video on this and sure enough you did! It was so helpful. Thank you.

Hi Kriksis, when i fill my pocket palette, I take the pans out and put them on the back of a large fridge magnet so I have space to handle them but they don't get knocked around. Maybe you will find that helpful, as they are so fiddly

Dear Kriksis! I hope you are well! Thank you so much for sharing this video. I have also mixed a small palette with gouache colours for on the go. Unfortunately some of them are broken after they have dried. Next time I will mix in some gum arabic to help prevent from cracking. We are travelling to Cornwall tomorrow:). This was the best palette/mixing video I have watched in a long while…you use W&N gouache…a lot of people say W&N gouache does not reactivate well (for several reasons)…you don’t mention that, which makes me wonder if it is not an issue for you because you use them before they can dry/cake/crack or otherwise break down…thank you for a response and the video…

Nature's palette, and indeed you created one, The Art Toolkit Palettes aresuch a great little piece of travelling/studio kit I have several of them now. I love mixing tinted blacks and greys,I have a whole palette of these colours. But will definitly try the mix of ultramarine and yellow ochre. Orange would not normally come to mind as a mixing colour,but it works so well. I loved the tiny sketchbook you painted in in the garden,which looks really amazing too really green and full of spring life. (matt) P.s dagger brushes can create interesting marks too.
