Gorgeous! Love Tiffany! Thanks for the informative video.
ОтветитьW-O-W, I had no idea of the variety & creativity of his glass-making. As far as I know, I've never even SEEN a piece of authentic Tiffany! As you say, lots of fabulous fakes out there. We're so good at crafting replicas, that when I was in Edinburgh with friends one year, the whole town looked like a movie set! And, I was lucky enough to be in Philadelphia when the Tut exhibit was touring the country, & my mind had a hard time rationalizing that everything on display was the real deal. (Too many trips to Disneyland didn't help any either!)---Refresh my memory, have you done Stickley yet? I love Mission-style furniture. Likewise Duncan-Phyfe!
ОтветитьThis was fascinating. I've seen only a couple of real pieces of Tiffany. So beautiful. The pieces were taken care of well. In some ways, I'm surprised that pieces aren't priced higher. They're a one of a kind in my book.
ОтветитьKeep on the lookout for contemporary art glass signed Orient & Flume. They make some beautiful Favrile pieces. Started in California 1972 and in production today. Worth some $$$$$. Great presentation. Thanks!
ОтветитьThe photos were incredible.Didn't realise the styles were so diverse
ОтветитьThe next time you are in Orlando, be sure to visit the Morse Museum in Winter Park. It is dedicated to Tiffany Glass, and it is amazing in its variety of styles, sizes, and historical displays, including the restored Tiffany chapel. I also was able to see the Tiffany exhibit at the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville, when it was there. If there is a traveling Tiffany exhibit near you, be sure to go see it. Some large collectors loan their pieces to museums, and these works of art are treated like diamonds. Louis Comfort Tiffany was the first design director at his family's business, Tiffany & Co., founded by his father. Tremendous talent! The artistry is worth learning about, even if you don't plan to purchase it.
ОтветитьLooking at auction results, I see a number of Tiffany lamps that sold recently for between $20,000 and $50,000.......so it's not impossible to get one, just rather expensive.
Ответить...am i mistaken believing that not only did tiffany do his own designs, but if ones work so true to his own, he would sign off with the artists name and confirming that indeed came from the Tiffany studio ... now, when will Galle, Steuben or others get their time?? Great vid. and informative. watch and waiting for the next ...
ОтветитьWhat happened to the "tv intro"? I loved that.
I sooo want ambers china cabinet over your right shoulder. Its amazing im in love with it.
Much love from Virginia
Love seeing the items behind you in the video.
ОтветитьСпасибо большое

ОтветитьI think everyone one would love an original lamp, however I have a Very well made shade in the Tiffany Style and love the colours, and I get a lot of positive comments on it,also I think they make a interesting talking point and promotes the work and interests of Tiffany,so I think there is a place for well made Tiffany lamps as long as there are not being passed off as originals.
ОтветитьI was going through some items I had stored to make some extra money and I came across to stained glass pieces that I've had for over 40 years.
Each piece is 12 in by 12 in.
I've done some research in the last day to find out if they're a real Tiffany artwork.
The clear glass that surrounds the colored pieces in the artwork looks like leaves.
It does have the copper foiling around each piece of cut glass that was put in the frame.
You can feel the leaded glass on both sides of the piece.
One side of the glass is smooth and the other side feels etched where the leaves are on it.
A couple of the cut glass pieces that make up the artwork are different kinds of glass.
Some look like they have little bubbles inside.
I'm interested to see if you think that these are a Tiffany made item.
What about Clara Driscoll that designed and executed the lamps along with her all female workers.
ОтветитьI heard the dog paws on the floor and thought they were my pups !
the lamps were more intriguing than the windows
it was not one person responsible ,it was a team of many .................women. men were there too (getting more $$)
ОтветитьThat’s interesting that the formula was lost, I wish they would’ve at least patented.
