Hey Ness, this was awesome! The greyscale technique is definitely something I'll start using and I love how much depth you gave to the first one by just adding darker shades to the foreground plants 👍 Going to start importing my Procreate illustrations into photoshop to check all this lol
ОтветитьAll of your improvements were on point. Great video!
ОтветитьThe way the image changes when you just add more contrast here and there looks like magic! I really need to work more on a value sketch before moving on to coloring to get better results. Also all you said on perspective was very on point, I should pay a closer attention to it too. For complex objects like stairs I find it useful to find a 3d model on sites for 3d artists, put it in the perspective I need (right in your browser, you don't even have to download them) and use it as a reference (not copying, of course, just to see how perspective lines go). So that is my little secret to why the stairs look so well:) As for the vertical lines, it looked to me having them a bit twisted made the composition look more dynamic, but I guess I need to master fundamental rules before breaking them so boldly haha. Right now I'm working on the inside illustration for the same imaginary book as the cover, and as I finish it I will get back to this picture and will do the fixes. Thank you again for your insightful feedback!! I'm happy you liked the cover in overall, that really cheered me up. Btw, the first illustration is so adorable and fun, loved it!
ОтветитьGreat tips! Atmospheric perspective seems like such a powerful tool that often gets overlooked! The perspective tips in the second illustration were really good too! I can’t wait to see more videos about this!
ОтветитьThis is so helpful! Subbed!

ОтветитьFantastic tips! I learned quite a bit and appreciated how constructive your critique was! Both of the pieces were fantastic on their own, but they each needed SOMETHING that pushed it to that next level and you nailed it! For those who haven't, definitely get a critique from this gal!!
ОтветитьReally solid advice, Ness! I think everyone really benefitted from your critiques
