Photographing Waterthrush Part 2: Amazing encounter with Mergansers | Bird Photography with Nikon Z9

Join me in part 2 of this video series where I am trying to find and photograph the Louisiana Waterthrush. In part 1, I covered where and how I set up for this species with some tips for success, and in this video I was able to actually find and photograph this amazing bird. While I was laying on the rocky banks of the forest brook, I also had another surprise visit from two families of common mergansers who had baby ducks following along. These mergansers came by very close to me on multiple occasions and I was able to get some footage of them as they were paddling by and foraging. Any day spent photographing along a stream is great, but when the wildlife cooperates, it is an amazing experience.
