Thank you so much.
ОтветитьYour a better man than me mate I've been at it 44 years I would have to sheet the walls up other wise the room would have to be redecorated l0l
ОтветитьWhat do you do if the ceiling is bowing in the middle? Do you have to rip the whole thing down and start again?
ОтветитьIs it at all possible to just do two coats of finished plaster on this textured ceiling rather than using the bonding coat? Just a thought
ОтветитьNice one bro thank you very much ❤
ОтветитьGreat video I'm learning alot
ОтветитьHi Blaine great vids alot of plasterers are using sbr instead of pva what's yours thoughts on that thanks in advance
ОтветитьThanks for the video! I'm getting the courage to take mine on! Do I need a specific electric mixer to mix as you do in the video or can it be done manually? Thanks. Shane
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial 👏
ОтветитьHi Blaine, with regards the flexi trowel just how flexible is the black edition in comparison with the Speedflex 11 gold and medi flex. Where does it fit in with these? I’m torn between this and the Speedflex 11. I think the black edition might be Nela’s answer to the Speedflex 3 that Regina offer but I might be wide if the mark. Can’t seem to find this info anywhere so your advice would be appreciated. Thank you or anyone else that can answer this for me
ОтветитьToday I have finish my first ever plastering, and it was exactly like on your video artex ceiling, didn’t do any plastering before and started from the ceiling…I did exactly like on your video first bonding coat and then after few days two coats of plaster multi finish , the most trouble caused drying plaster , as a novice of course it was hard to do whole coat in 1 go so on the end was a bit dry , ceiling had about 10m2 . Your videos are very helpful, it is everything beginner plasterer should know , now we need to just practice practice practice and learn from experience, thank You for your help
ОтветитьCould I ask, why not just scrap back the artex to get flat and then go straight over with Plaster? Why use bonding initially?
ОтветитьAttempting my first ceiling next week in the kids room 🥴 wish me luck
ОтветитьJust come across this God send of a video I’ve just moved and have the exact same textured ceilings so im going to use this to guide me 👏🏾👏🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
ОтветитьDo you have to pva right before like roses it have to be wet still or leave it to dry
ОтветитьDo you recommend pre mixed plaster to save time from mixing it
ОтветитьPlastering is very difficult skill to learn, respect the work
ОтветитьCan you use a roller brush
Ответитьwow! what nice top quality! thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThank you, brilliant 😊
ОтветитьGenius. Trade skills are what they should be teaching more kids at school, not the acedemic subjects which end up being useless to them and society.
ОтветитьLet's croc on..😅
Thanks so much though. Great help.
What you standing on
Ответитьi hate music background
ОтветитьThis man has a lot of thumbs
ОтветитьMate I’ve been thinking of leaving recruitment to do
Plastering… this has confirmed it for me
hi Blaine, just watched your video. we've just bought a house that needs work and in an effort to save money, im going to attempt to plaster my sons ceiling next week when we get the keys. can I have a break down of the tools you used and brands please? thank you
ОтветитьWhat is the drying time between trowling stages?
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьI find it quite funny how easy we got it these days. My father plasterer by trade literally uses one trowel, hawk and gets it flat, hard work but does. I told him about the speed skims and he literally sees it as the devils work. Told me "i catch you with one of those I'll wrap it around your skull, use your skill you lazy ****" 😂 yeah I've used one and it is so much easier
Ответитьthanks for the instructional video.
ОтветитьYou Sir, are a master craftsman!
You are also rare. You take pride in your work. Respect. Thanks for posting.
Love your work Bro.
I've made a bonding mix with the multifunish. 70% multi 30% bonding.
Speedskim straight away & Leave for 20 mins. In that time I clean up the edges then second coat it as normal.
Probably could have gone straight to skimming in most situations?
Ответитьexcellent as ususl
ОтветитьSounds like auditioning for holly oaks or Corry 😂
ОтветитьThumbs up for crocs.
ОтветитьI am going to plaster my porch ceiling. Small space. Textured. I am in awe of your skills. Lucky mother in law! Thankyou for this info. 👏
Ответитьjust out of curiosity, how long did this one ceiling take? my whole house has textured ceilings and I hate them 😭
ОтветитьWhat are you standing on? Do I need to hire a platform (very expensive, £350 for 4 days!)
ОтветитьExcellent videos. My only comment is to outline the timings. So 1) pva - first coat 2) 1st coat - flatten 3) flatten- 2nd coat 4) 2nd coat - flatten 5) 2nd flatten - polish
ОтветитьYou've explained a lot in this video and made it look easy... but I know it isn't! I can do most handyman/DIY tasks with ease but brick laying and plastering are two I shy away from. You've encouraged me to give plastering a go. Just hope my shoulder can take it 🤔
ОтветитьHow long after bonding can you plaster over?
I have experienced bubbles forming when applying Multifinish over wet bonding, i usually leave a day in-between now.
It would be great to bond and skim the same day
Did you PVA between the 1st and 2nd coat of multifinish? Or do you put the 2nd coat up whilst the 1st coat is still drying ?
Also can you use SBR instead of PVA? Any difference?
Love your videos
ОтветитьDo you have any videos on how to patch up plaster on a ceiling? I have a ceiling that needs patching after a water leak. It’s only about 1m x 1m. Do you use the same process as for a whole ceiling? Thanks
Ответитьmine fell down - even after pva etc. gutted
Ответитьhow hard is the pressure on the speed skim?
ОтветитьSubscribed because I really want to learn this skill. How would you tackle high ceilings in a victorian home?
