Great research. The third ending of Winback is definitely a mystery. I guess the implication is that Cecile gets away and continues to do crimes and your mission isn't really "over" if you get the "Normal Ending".
ОтветитьYo this game is damn LONG! I JUST BEAT IT 1ST TIME TODAY lmfao! 31 damn stages & here I was thinking I wanted this game back when it 1st came out lol. Anyway i was only able to beat it on Switches online & seeing how there is more stuff to unlock I can't bring it to myself to play it again due to how long & slow it is.
If there was a unlimited ammo cheat yeah I would go at it again but no way lol.
NIGHTMARE SHIT LIKE THIS!!
ОтветитьPlayed this as a kid didn't even know the bad ending was a thing let alone a secret ending. Nice vid!
Ответитьstill got the game
ОтветитьOne of my favourite games ever. If you're interested in looking into something else in Winback, there is what looks like a big shotgun on an inaccessible part of the floor in level 18, it shines like it can be picked up but doesn't look like anything that you can interact with in game, it's probably nothing but I can't find any info on what it is.
ОтветитьId REALLY wish there was a third ending in which Matt, Steve, Law, Mike, Thomas and Jake survived
ОтветитьLove this game I didn't know there was a "3rd ending" now ugh
Ответитьyou sir... are my hero, loved this game as a kid and for years kept thinking was it even possible to get a third ending, now i may rest
(p.s. i love how you used my comments in your videos ;) )
I think I may have figured out the exact conditions to get this "third ending". I was watching someone play through the Nintendo Switch Online version (which is the N64 version emulated, so it shoud be in the actual N64 version also) and to my surprise they didn't fight Cecile after Dan, even though they were on track to get the "good ending". Turns out the satellite fired on level 27 for them but NOT on level 23. Their time was a little over 6 hours when the cutscene played. I know from annoying experience (waiting around) that the bad ending requires you to hit 6 hours BEFORE you reach level 23 to see the first satellite firing cutscene. So it seems to be that you have 6 hours to make it to level 27 if you want the "best ending". If you pass 6 hours before level 23 you get the bad ending, which includes the satellite firing on level 27. Hopefully this can help clear up some confusion, as most information out there says you have to reach level 23 before 3 hours have passed to get the best ending, which is simply not true.
Honestly the third ending is a big disappointment. At the very least they should have included an ending where you can save Jake, as he is the most prominent character in the cutscenes besides Jean-Luc, and his death is the only one that changes based on the ending. They could have had it where Jake just gets wounded trying to save Lisa, so he can't go fight Dan, Cecile, etc. Swapping him out for Keith I think would have been the most satisfactory conclusion to the story based on the events in the game.
Crazy enough I actually got the 3rd ending on my first try. I think that was mostly due to me constantly dying at some parts and using my knowledge from the stage before I died to improve my speed and accuracy.
Ответитьyea i never past the sewer stage LOL
