I wouldn't want be in America now either.
What a joke it has become.
Apparently the US has ads for prescription medicine. That makes no sense to me.
ОтветитьI was born in Tassie. It gets snow but not like the USA.
ОтветитьI'm assuming you're very young. Because you mentioned about showing with a bucket and watering the plants with it. And I think you mentioned that you lived in Melbourne. So not many people know this, but Melbourne went through a drought for about a decade from 2001 to 2010 and we nearly ran out of water. Yes, an entire effing city with millions of people almost didn't have any water. The dams went down to about 23% and if they went down to 15% the pumps wouldn't have been able to reach the water. This got very desperate. Every year we would all pray for rain but it wasn't enough to replace what was being used. Slowly it went down. Along the way the state government enacted various laws to restrict water usage and save water, including banning people from watering their lawns, their cars, their gardens, etc. We were told to save water any way we could. Back then there were no dual flush toilets. Everyone had single flush, old toilets which wasted a lot of water. We were encouraged to put either a brick in the cistern or a bottle of water (to prevent it from filling all the way up). We were encouraged to shower with a bucket so we could water the plants. We were encouraged to plant different plants which need less water (everyone now has a lot of succulents and such). The government gave rebates if you bought rain tanks (to water the plants). Dual flush toilets were mandated (so when people eventually bought new toilets all they could get were dual flush). Public toilets soon changed to dual flush. Public parks and gardens had massive underground water tanks installed (I think Albert Park Lake has them). A purple tap system was implemented in new areas (the growth corridors), which is recycled water specifically for watering plants and is not drinkable. The eventually realised that we would need a desalination plant, which was eventually built in Wonthaggi, but which wasn't built in time when it was needed. It was a very desperate time. It was also a lesson in how not to govern and plan (or lack thereof).
Edit: Forgot to mention they have a target of 155 litres of water per person per day. And we were encouraged to limit our showers to 3 minutes.
Whatever the words say?
ОтветитьDw about more freedom/rights in Australia, far less crime, no school shootings, better healthcare, better education, secularism etc etc.
Tim Tam's are why?
Fk me, the American brain rot is deep with this one.
🌞Really enjoy your vid's, from West Oz.
Ответить☀it took me some time but found it

ОтветитьGreat little video and very comprehensive; as a migrant from Ireland (I moved in 96) and have two boys your age, I can't think of anywhere I'd choose to raise kids (Perth, WA).
For people thinking of moving, do some background on housing. We have excellent medical, well-paid jobs, etc. But housing is becoming a real problem. Buying a house in any of the regional cities is becoming prohibitively expensive, and rents aren't far behind. Still a great place compared to most.
🌞 Enjoyed this one Ellie. Grew up not too far from Melbourne... 75-80kms up the Yarra River from Melbourne (a town called Warburton in the Upper Yarra Valley). Got snow on the mountains either side of the town every winter. Moved to the northern suburbs of Sydney in '93 where I still live. I've seen a few 'comparison' vids, and most of them try to be too 'polished' in production, so I was very pleased yours was more relevant and informational than those hollow productions. Enjoy Xmas in NZ! Cheers from Wahroonga NSW. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Ответить☀️. Another awesome comprehensive look at Australia.
ОтветитьDepending on who you ask, I reckon regulations are what's keeping Australia a safe place to live.

ОтветитьI love your videos. Having recently moved to the US from Australia , I can relate to everything you say. Can you make a video on how do you compare your schooling between Australia and the US ( if you still remember your Aussie schooling) ? Would help me in understanding what kind of school environment we can expect here in the US especially in middle and high school , as I hear a lot of horror stories. Mine still goes to Elementary though.
Ответить☀️ you will love NZ. My granddaughters are your age and they loved their trip.

Ответить🔆 Sorry but the sun is not up on my IPad, you need to wait for morning.
ОтветитьAmerica is the only country in the world where the speed LIMIT is just a guide.
ОтветитьYour accent is hated in this country, try to acclimatise as quick as you can.
ОтветитьMinimum wage in Oz is $24•01 ph
ОтветитьEnjoy 🌞 NZ
Ответитьok so this is going to get a lot of hate - but the truth is
tims tams are not that good
its just a choc covered biscut - thats it, nothing special probably a 5/10 - meh, forgettable
sorry to everyone who ties their national identity to these things, im not TRYING to insult
but this is is the most over-hyped thing i have ever come across
☀️ Healthcare is funded by our government, certainly if it’s critical care - so the government tries to manage costs by health messaging. It’s a trade off.
Prem baby - 11 weeks in NICU? No bills. in exchange - listen to health warnings about vaping. i’ll take it. ☀️

ОтветитьWe do have a few "Fuck the Environment" people in Australia but thankfully they are a small percentage of the population. ☀
We do find it strange just how much hate Americans have for each other, especially the "Christian" Jeeezus Luvs Ya Americans.
Australia is second only to Hong Kong with the least affordable housing. Like many European cities that have been ruined by excessive tourism. Australian cities have been ruined by excessive immigration.

ОтветитьAussies great but we are over govened
ОтветитьOh come on! You can't just drop that and run! You have to tell us why you were crying in Chemist Warehouse?
Ответитьand don't forget we (Australia) also own almost half of the antarctic. So that is about 7.5 million km squared (so its actually huge)
ОтветитьYour voice sounds like a radio dj’s voice, really modulated. Great facts you informed all of us.😀
ОтветитьThe vast majority of Australians want less immigration not more.
Over 30% of people in Australia are foreign born: America has never been anywhere that number. and think what an issue immigration is there.
🌞
Ответитьi must be ancient. for my first job i got $4.50 AUD per hour (that's about 25 cents US. lol). i consider myself very lucky to have been born an Australian. i love that you love Oz so much that you want the rest of the world to know. thanks. 🌅

ОтветитьBtw.
The high private school numbers is a reflection of the insane amount of federal money going into the private sector which the public sector find hard to compete against.
This is the conservatives bashing the lefties.
Who gave you that high minimum wage.
They'll get around to reduce that socialist evil soon enough.
It is the land of the gouge after all.

ОтветитьI remember the days pre strict alcohol limits.
The carnage on the road was reported as a new record each year, year after year after year after...
Thank you🌞
Ответить🌞 Hi, Ellie. Thanks for the show. I live on the Morn Pen and the water has been WARM! Watch out for that 2 legged spider in Aotearoa. 😎💚💛
ОтветитьInteresting, I've never been in a drought. I do live in Victoria though so not typically a state that lacks water.
