Btw these are nowhere near 8kW heat output, more like 3kW. That 8kW figure is misleading and the calorific heat output. I fitted mine today it's brilliant!

If it needs a car battery it must require a fair amount of amps which makes me wonder how long that battery will last. Is the battery under load constantly or is it mainly for startup?

The shop heater in the wall you showed in the video, what are those types of units called? I haven’t seen one in years.

Title states it is a 8 KW generator. Does it generate this amount of heat?

We are on our second winter with this heater. We heat our front porch which has no other heat source. At -25C the porch gets to +12C .

My garage is 20 x 20 ft and insulated. It gets between 10 above zero anf 40 below zero Fahrenheit. Will this work ok? My garage is supposed to have a ceiling heater rated at 30,000 BTUs. These diesel heaters claim 27,000 BTUS. Is that a true rating and a close comparison, or not?

I ended up going with a kerosene heater, no batteries or power required and its not a dry heat very good for my needs in winter around $70 from china will run for 22 hours on 1.3 gallon of fuel.

If you have it inside, you should lead the exhaust pipe and necessarily the intake pipe outside. It is about maintaining the balance of air pressure in the combustion chamber. If there is a strong side wind on the exhaust, the heater will not work well. But if the bottom is close to the outlet, nothing will happen because the same wind force acts on the inlet and outlet.

Great hack videos on the controller too. Change the output and the pump. Worth watching just for instructions.

If the power goes out while it’s running BE CAREFUL when you restart it. Mine floods the room with diesel smoke. Needs to shut down slowly.

I don’t know what kind of diesel heater he has but I have an 8 kW diesel heater hooked up to a 6 gallon and when I run my diesel heater on full blast nonstop it takes seven days to go through 6 gallons of gas in my 30‘ x 15‘ camper trailer and when we have -30° weather in the winter time in the northern part of Wisconsin run on full blast in our houses basement so our pipes don’t freeze and it keeps it good 65° in our basement but when we heat our basement up 6 gallons of diesel fuel will only last 3 days on high

Why not 3D print or build some kind of cover for the intake fan on the back that converts to a 3-4 inch tube and run that into the camper? That way, you are still circulating inside air even if the unit is on the outside.
