What Pickleball Paddles do the Pros Use? (Updated 2023)

Top pros get paddles for free

There's no doubt a lot of work went into this and that is definitely appreciated. I don't know at what point the top 50 pros start to get free paddles or greatly discounted, but it would seem to skew the popularity of any given paddle. Especially among the pros. But of course many of the rest of us are influenced by what they are using. I was surprised to see paddletec so high on the list. I rarely see them promoted anywhere anymore. Thanks again for your hard work.

Hot take, if gearbox prioritized sponsoring pros, they'd be right up there with joola and selkirk in popularity among pros. You can disagree, that's fine, but just remember, many pros wouldn't play with the paddle they use right now if it weren't for sponsorships. I'm not saying I know for a fact that many pros prefer gearbox for sure but I definitely believe there would be more pros using gearbox paddles if gearbox really wanted to sponsor more pros.

Any idea as to why paddletek seems to be a chic paddle brand?

Thank you so much for this update! I’m been wanting this since the arrival of Joola and the power air. I think an interesting thing about paddle use is the influence of sponsorship deals. Chris from Pickleball Studio mentioned in a video that it looks like Jw hates his new Franklin paddle. It makes you wonder.

This report doesn't mean anything for an average player. Pros have been paid to use these paddles. If Gruvn pays them the most money, Ben Jones will be in it.

I agree a lot of these paddles are being used because of sponsorship. If other companies were to award sponsorship at the level the top paddles you have listed, there would be a drastic change on that list.

Funny, I saw no one using a Gearbox paddle.
When I tried out my first Gearbox, I immediately gave up using my fairly new Selkirk paddle that I had literally fallin in love with, four months earlier ! 🤣

obviously, a $250 paddle , $200 goes to mktg and pro-player. and won’t last 6 months. Plus paddles are not like tennis rackets, you change strings and keep going forever!! I prefer new companies like Ronbus🤙🏻
