Can you still sleep, after what you've learned? The Bard College of Citrus has been struggling, especially with learning that the Elder Evils are out there. Entities older than time, bigger than space, wandering in malice and machinations that eclipse our understanding. But at this point... should we even attempt to understand? Or is it too late...?

Alone in my study, I’ll pulled every blind,
It’s less for safety, and more peace of mind,
Every door has been locked more than twice, but I know it won’t hold
For what I try to hide from can already see,
The walls have eyes, all unblinking toward me,
Since I’ve pulled back the curtain and parted the dust of old

Oh there was a volume of lore on the shelf,
Unassuming and all by itself
In the back of a library that had been lost to time
And lo, as I deciphered that long-hidden text,
My eyes were opened to what would come next,
If these elders of evil would breach the Material Prime!

They were darkness beyond time and space, before worlds had will,
They slept for eons in chaos and malice and things older still
These entities drifted alone in dreams
Just their presence, it sunders all life at its seams!
Oh now they all know we are here, they heard our screams?

I haven’t quite been myself ever since,
Now the sun’s light of day makes me wince
With my knowledge of all that is lying beyond the veil
The Serpent of Night lingers still on my roof,
Oh, to sever the Returner’s horn as my proof!
Pressure building as breathing but never a chance to exhale!
Oh how many minds have lost to the throes
Of the madness that burgeons from knowing these foes?
Will I join them soon? Will I crack from the pressure? Who knows?!

Far beyond comprehension, they lurk in the shadows of night
Oh at the briefest of mentions, their name instills terror and fright!
These entities drifted alone in dreams
Just their presence, it sunders all life at its seams!
Oh now that they know we are here, what are their schemes?


Zargon, the Eldest, Ityak-Ortheel
Holashner, Dendar, Bolothamogg
Pandorym, Gaernoo, Zurguth, Kezef
Piscaethces, Y’chak, and Shothotugg

I’m on the run with these secrets I bear,
Seeking brave souls with whom I can share,
Those who still would be willing to fight
For once you’re aware of how close they roam,
And the threat that they pose to our home,
It might seem like they’re far, but they’re just past the reach of the light!
Now, if you’re facing that lifelong quest,
Know you will never enjoy any rest,
As their attentions now turn to you, feel your heart shake in your chest!

They are darkness beyond time and space, breaking down our door!
And there’s no sustenance able to stymie their hunger for more!
These entities drifted alone in dreams
