Here are other facts:

1.) Toyota GT 86 came from "Scion" brand. Specifically, the Scion FR-S. The Scion brand shuts down and Toyota and Subaru saved the car and made it the successor of the iconic Toyota AE86 Trueno.

2.) The AE86 which is the first 86 came from the bloodline of "Corolla". Just like how the Supra came from the bloodline of "Celica".

3.) The Gt86 and GR86's engines are both subaru boxer engines, boxer engines are horizontally arranged which is also a 4 cylinder.

I adore this first-gen. In my eyes it's probably the most "iconic" car to come out in the last decade. You can tell it was such a massive passion project for all involved. The Lexus LFA is probably another good example.
