the base 60 system has been attributed to trade. The number has many multiples 1 2,3,4,5,6,10,12,15,20,30 . Very useful for calculating and measuring deals value. Trade preceded concerns about the moon cycles. Its utility became obvious to anyone trying to get rid of the base 60 system.

I'm 85 and just now introduced to this information, which is fascinating and mind-blowing.
I appreciate the diligent work of so many people to give us this. However, I find the background music (which I also love) to be distracting and cover so much of the narration. BUT, I'd rather be distracted THAN NOT have access to the content. Thank you!

The Yazidi in Northern Iraq are the roots of the Sumerians. They are exterminating them. They still practice their customs and rituals and if you look at them they still dress in the type of clothing they wore thousands of years ago. Today they are surrounded by Muslims that want to either convert them to Islam or murder them.

This is so interesting! I remember doing a PowerPoint on Mesopotamia in High School. A few years pass by, I take a DNA test and found out I have ancestry across North Africa along with the Middle East and one of the places was Iraq.
