Is Raid: Shadow Legends Worth Playing in 2024?!

Now i finally am convinced you are backscratcher for Plarium. I am from japan and you chose Raid over ER is ridiculous but not the reason of my op of you. Raid is good game if you just not count the money and time consuming aspect which we can't ignore. Apparentally you suc up to P for remaining in CC program like saph said.QE

CCs really underestimate their monthly pack they get. That being said, you can go F2P, but prepare to squash your FOMO and don't' even think about trying to compete in arena or get Ramantu.

I will be continuing playing because im late game and enjoy all the content i can do with time and money invested. For a new player hell no.

Prime example. My wife got interested in raid since i play it in our office while we work. She basically demanded to play as i warned her it is not something you want to play unless your ready to grind and get disappointed on summoning. Long story short we are both playing WoR now and enjoying it. I still play raid she quit after her first summoning after grinding her wukong to 6 star

Most champions are junk. And it's always the same. Not super good unique champs. Buffer or debuffer. Thats all. All of the big gacha do it better. Not worth playing. For many reasons and you know them all.

yes we can enjoy being f*** all the time but why dont we deserve a fair game with balanced pvp and a consistent monetazation level and not this souls and primal money milking thats almost gotten worse almost every patch. didnt they start with xena and now its the monster hunter void?

What a sellout sounds like you probably love the game only because it doesn't cost you anything to get champions but us, we pay our hard-earned money to get junk champions maybe one or two good ones a year that's why I chose to quit almost a year ago just a complete waste of money if you ask me.

The list of grievances is too long to list and has been covered ad nauseam on this and many other channels.
I think it speaks volumes that most of Raid larger CC's, including yourself, have started to cover other gacha games. imho 😎

god no. where to begin? 2023 was a terrible year for raid and they show no signs of righting the boat. blessings were super pay to win and have negatively affected the game so much. polymorph is SUCH CANCER and makes pvp so frustrating for no reason.
sand devil and shogun were terrible ideas with the way they introduced them, the recent change where you get some dust to reroll your ascensions was a good idea. Sand devil is a poorly designed dungeon though and very inaccessible. shogun is a little better but it takes high level blessings to do so its the same thing.
IRON TWIns farming is garbo, you get one stone a day most days and little stones along with medium stones are so worthless in the soulstone rush/chase events.
one thing that is absolutely awful that plarium has in the game is the chance to miss your debuff or effect by 3% ALWAYS. and you can get 3% no matter what resist you have. SO DUMB. WORST CONCEPT IN A GAME. happens all the freaking time too. say goodbye to your perfect hydra run because its about to end.
everything takes so long to do in the game. theres hardly any time saving QOL. the tavern sucks, marketplace sucks, all forms of pvp are tedious and take too long. every other game has background battles, ability to do 10 raids at a time ETC ETC. not raid though, plarium loves keeping you in the game farming all day with RSL helper for their metrics.
end game is pvp, hydra or sin city. pvp SUCKS, its just pay to win pay to have fun, live ARena sucks.

THE RAY OF SUNSHINE IN MY RAID DAY is nub raids though, his videos are great. very helpful, very informative. even when we disagree(TIMIT SUCKS KEKW) i still watch every video of his. dont play raid, just watch nub raids videos!

I would only choose Path of Exile over Raid as an answer to the same question. I love collection gacha games as a side game when i take a break from PoE. And i think Raid is the pinnacle of the genre. 70ish $ spent in 181 days. In raid world im sure this count as f2p. I like to spent some money on games im sure im gonna play for long time tho so i don't care much about it..

When u realize you are not competing against whales or krakens then u can have fun freely. Monetization will always be there. When i first started during Maranix fusion people were saying Raid is dying, monetization is out of hands etc. etc. Almost 1.5 years later people still saying the same things. Monetization is there because they are good at it(People are spending). But in the mean time if someone thinks "im a f2p, i just grind and have fun and occasionaly have an adrenaline rush from shards summoning" and stick with this mind set game will be still good as f2p.

They probably have one of the best market research department. Saying "this will kill the game" feels like garbage to me. They know what they are doing in terms of monetization. When i first started two things that all players complaining about was 1) silver grinding and 2) energy. 1.5 years later silver grinding is worse becuz silver income is same but outcome is higher becuz of sintranos etc. Energy is same, still 1 every 3 min with 130 cap. But guess what same people who were complaining about these 2 things still playing after 1.5 years. It's just mind blowing.

Edit: Customization in Raid is crazy. That's what i like the most. I tried Dragon Heir, i was in first 8th or 9th server iirc. I liked it first but then i reliazed customization is shit compared to Raid. Having no speed therefore speed tuning is just bad. There is some sort of speed tuning via cooldown reductions but its not as good as actual speed tuning imo. Raid is doing great job on this part.

This would be a good game if they just let you change out your gear for free. It's insane how much silver you have to farm just to regear one character. A big part of the fun in this game is the strategy of gearing but the crazy costs just destroy that fun you could have had.

It is and it isn't pay to win. I won at the game and I didn't spend.

I'm currently taking a break after playing on and off since early 2020. The amount of time this game takes if you want to continuously make progress just isn't sustainable for me with working, family, friends, and actually wanting to explore other games that come out. I would probably enjoy starting another account more than grinding the late game content. It scratched the collection itch, but is just too time consuming now.

I never see anyone talk about summoners war. Going on it’s ten year anniversary this year. Absolute best in class for QOL, longevity, all champions can be used from 3-5 star (rare-lego), tons of dungeons, tons of guild content, and it’s a gacha collector just like raid with way more champs. Graphics are old. You need to hop on w JGigs Nub, do a video like Ash did comparing WoR to raid

making a toon with specific speeds is stupid, as long as they are fast enough you should be able to set it to any amount slower. Having to change gear so much is what I hate!!! and why im not endgame after 4 years.

BtW there really is no player vs player, they have one game mode to select 5 chumps, have one banned, choose your leader then play. It is extreamly lame to call that pvp

Nubs showed his screen w/ prices, they are the low prices like you you spend 0-hardly any money. Once you buy a few pixels, the prices become stupid high... The deals $/item can be the same, but you can not casually spend a few $ here and there... except like the subscription gem pack and daily multibattles.

I played for about 3 years and recently stopped. Still thinking about my Raid future :D With all the things I know today, I would not start over.

This game reflects life ...I'm content with what I have or get, im ftp and not going cry about getting the OP champs that ppl pay mortgages $$$ worth to get, 3 yrs in and still having fun, ...ramantu isn't worth the effort to get him, the sintranos mythical isn't keeping me up at night, live arena is forgettable since quintus is a joke, searsha is lame, dt champs all suck lol ever since I got Lydia I've just been coasting and enjoying

I’m F2P for just over 1 year. It’s a fun game to play without spending any money. There are few of them out there regardless of the downsides.

To that diversity of champions. Today I was in the doom tower hard around like 74-78 floor and my team of 4,5 rating champions cannot do it, so I have to use two champs with 2,5 rating to easy win these levels.

No shit show here... been playing since the Stag Knight battle pass... took a year off in 2020... Covid brought me back... but besides that... loved the game initially..why I'm still here!! good points brought up by ya!!

Forcing low spenders to battle in arena against whales to do progression (Tag Team Arena) is crap. Likewise, forcing FTP to battle against whales in Live arena is garbage. The cost of swapping gear makes this game time intensive just to farm silver, totally stupid. No changes to earning mastery scrolls, market is out of date, Token trader is a bust w/o a way to earn tokens vs tossing legos you may need and not able to cash in epics, and everything is too expensive vs games like DragonHeir. So ya Raid was good but in 24, it's just not worth the time investment.

Biggest issue of this game by far is that you will never get good champions. You might get some, but there are ones that absolutely changes the game and you will just never get them.
It's a pay trap basically. Other parts if the game is just fine... Doesn't care about what people crying like silver, energy etc. Without champions, you're useless

the game is very unfriendly to new players. Basically only Whales or Player who play the Game from the beginning have Advantages in every Aspect of the game. i Wouldnt recommend starting the game nowadays

i wish the devs. would have a way to reset your Great Hall, for those of us who have wrecked their Great Hall by spreading the points all around instead of only putting the points on one thing to get it to lvl 10 in order to get your Arbiter.

No, absolutely not. Do not download it, do not install it. It is a massive scam, so much so that there should be a class-action lawsuit against these assholes. You can get a Legendary character by spending $30 on a Sacred Shard, which has a 94% chance of summoning . . . Nope, not a Legendary character - but an Epic character. The Sacred Shard is marketed as getting Legendary characters for the player foolish enough to spend the real cash on them, but it only has a 6% chance of summoning a Legendary. The Void Shard, which is marketed as summoning an Epic character for the player foolish enough to spend real cash on it has a 91.5% chance of summoning yet another crappy RARE character and only a 8% chance to summon an Epic character, and a hysterical 0.5% chance to summon a Legendary character. But they don’t tell you that unless you press your finger on the shards to see their absolutely scammy drop rates.

Raid: Shadow Scams will constantly bombard your screen with their ‘special offers’, all of which are vastly overpriced and worthless.

The game’s balance is so laughably bad that it’s as if it were programmed by a six year old child. Take the arena for example - my team, consisting of two Level 60 Legendary characters in all six-star equipment at level 16, and two Level 50 Legendary characters equipped in level 16 five-star equipment has a power rating of 102k. All four of them were one-shotted by a single level 60 Legendary with a power rating of 32k.

The game also requires no brains whatsoever; just multi-battle attempts (bought with real money, of course) on auto-battle. Need Chickens to raise your lousy Rare characters to a slightly-less lousy level? Bust out that debit card. Oh look, new and mostly decent armor is available for $40usd. AYFKM?! And you still have to spend probably around 30,000,000 Silver to raise each armor piece and the weapon to Level 16, because the attempts somehow ‘fail’ over and over again. Just raising a chest piece from 12 to 16 cost me over four million Silver but of course the game was kind enough to hit me with yet another bullshit pop-up advertising a million silver for $10. On and on and on and on it goes.

Suuuuuuure, you can earn most of these things in-game, but the drop-rates are nonexistent and they require a massive amount of grinding. You have to do the Daily Quests every day, plus others, for an entire month to get one Sacred Shard that will grant you yet another shitty Rare character that you don’t want. You’re not going to spend hours a day playing this game to have a slight chance at getting the items and silver that you need because the game is fundamentally BORING. Even if you try to play it you’ll swiftly turn on Auto-Battle and throw your phone onto your bed for a while.

Raid: Scam Legends is one of the worst mobile games ever made, and it is absolutely the biggest gambling scam that iTunes has ever allowed on its platform. The company behind this game should be sued into oblivion and they should be forced to pay back every single dollar to any player who was stupid enough to give them any money. It’s not merely just Pay-to-Win - it’s also Pay-to-Play.

Raid sucks ass. Don’t be stupid enough to download their shitty scam.

Edit: I forgot that you have to spend hundreds of thousands of Silver to remove crappy gear on a character to replace it with better gear, which you will also need to spend tens of millions in Silver on leveling that new armor to level 16! So much fun!

If you are playing this game without spending any coin, you will find it challenging. I admit my set up is crap, but spending money to get better gear just seems a sad way to play a game.

the game takes way too much time. It's literally a part time job, where you're spending 5 hours a day. On top of that, they're constantly bombarding you will sales, and these packs are ridiculously overpriced. Sure you can go F2P, but that just means you're going to spend a lot more time on the game. Without certain champs, your runs will take a lot longer. Trust me, it adds up. I would not suggest this game to anybody. If I wasn't clan leader, I would quit ASAP. Also, this game is P2W af.

I've been playing for a couple days and I'm very confused. I'm just trying to build my first team to clear campaign and this has been all consuming but I really do like that 5* 6* heroes don't feel that far off. I guess I'm just ignorant of the future BS that I'll face in trying to clear content but one of the first things I did was look up which common and uncommon heroes people actually think are good and I started investing in them since that seems like the most logical thing to do in a game where champions rarity seems to matter so much.

The energy system so far has kept me from playing "like a part time job" as some people have been saying. I don't know. A lot of criticism seems really confusing.

Why complain about new content and champs you can't have when there is literally so much to do. The grind never ends, this is a never ending farming team building gatcha game. I think what a lot of the people here really need to do is reevaluate why they play the game and maybe stop playing. If your gatcha desire is so deep and so insatiable that you have deep emotions over if you will get the next new champ then maybe you got a problem that you have to work out with yourself.
